  1. Can't wait for Malerion Aelves but I doubt they're coming anytime soon. So I think will start Light Aelves anytime the are released.

Finished big Bonereapers army to go along with my DoK and Deepkin, and already got myself two Sisters of Battle Boxes so surely will buy minimum 3000 points army  of them.

But please give me Malerion Aelves now !

He's not really viable competitively. You have no way to get cast bonuses so your spells get shut off, plus all the lore spells have fairly ****** ranges. He also doesn't do much damage in combat and lacks any defense against mortal wounds. If you compare him to a similar cost wizard, such as a keeper of secrets or vermin lord warpseer he is terrible.

That said these point changes definitely help the more casual idoneth lists a lot.

You couldn't be more wrong. I've used Sea for quite some time in heavily competitive community. Won 1 dayer with ETC players in in and went 4-1 in big two dayer beating Skaven, Fyreslayers, Tyrants of Blood.

    1) you got one re-roll to cast which is better then +1 to cast

    2) you got possible re-rolls through rituals

    3) short ranges doesn't mean much when you can Steed of Tide him and blast some spells.

    4) you can use Cloud of Midnight to keep him out of harm's way and then teleport out of combat with Steed of Tides.

Warpseer is now 320 and Sea at 380 isn't worse.

Sure playing with him takes a lot of practice and has narrow margin of error, but he can be used in hugely competitive community with ease.

Why does everyone think new giants will have any connection with light elves?

They are good enough to be two separate releases

Light elves will certainly have some big kits, but in the new era they won’t just release traditional elven dragon companion I guess?

Don't know but maybe GW want to mirror Eldar and Teclis finds a way to place Aelven souls into some big WraithKnight alike constructs :P but Dragons are even better. Light Aelves sounds good but I can't wait for what Malerion was cooking as he became my favorite Aelf characters with his End Times-AoS story arc.

  4. @Landohammer I just do not agree people tend to overreact when their army is concerned. You can win ultra-competitive games with almost any unit in Idoneth Deepkin book but Lotann, Leviadon and Shakrs. And Sharks still can be good in friendly games/narrative games.

Also calling for brand new faction to be updated with new models just over the year after it was released is just unrealistic knowing that GW releases are planned for 1-2 years in advance.

Sylvaneth and other books are just bad examples. GW made a lot of effort to bring all armies up to AoS 2.0 standard. Once we get 2.0 Books for DoT, KO and Seraphons we can judge GW. But calling for new units for almost brand new army is just unrealistic.

I think once all factions are up to 2.0 (which could happen in Q1-Q2 2020) I think we will see new armies mixed with small updates for existing armies. Take Deepkin for example I can see them with new book in 2021 example along new unit, hero, endless spells. Now GW won't need to rush refreshed battletomes and can flesh out factions with smaller releases like that. Sometimes it will be new unit, sometimes only new hero + endless spells. And I think Maggotkin, Deepkin, DoK and SCE will be first to get that.

  5. @Austin I doubt that.

I think GW made a huge effort to bring all factions up to date. Sure some people will be upset about how it was handled but I think they did awesome job. What we are left with is bringing Serpahons, KO and DoT up to 2.0.

I doubt GW have resources or want to flood AoS with factions. Sure we have some factions like SkyGrots, Shadow and Light Aelves coming up. But I believe when all initial factions are up do 2.0 they will mix expanding new factions and introducing new ones.

I have 150 Witches, 55 Melusai and 30 Khinerai DoK and I would more then love 2.0 Battletome with only new hero/unit + endless spells/prayers.

The same goes for Deepkin. New battletome along with spells, new hero would be awesome, but Deepkin are an amazing army to play nonetheless. Aspects coud see a lot of play with points adjustments the same goes for Sharks. I think Leviadon and Lotann are just bad warscrolls but still fixable. Splash refresh is fine for me.

Right now I have huge DoK army, big Deepkin army and started Bonereapers (I want to just build smalish army with 60-80 Mortek, Arkhan, Katakros, Crawlers as I love those minis) I'd rather have more armies then waiting for DoK or IDK refreshes.

I don't think it's just about eels being good. The synergies designed to support other units such as thralls just don't work. Ranges are overally restrictive, buffs are often redundant, mechanics such as the res ability are too weak to have any benefit.

I mean compare thralls at 130 to phoenix guard at 160. They have similar damage output (due to smaller bases on phoenix guard) but the phoenix guard are about 10x more durable.

The idoneth book is terrible, one strong eel build has covered that up.

Oh come on. I've won 2 - 1 day tournaments, and went 4-1 at 50  in last two mohts players two dayer with Deepkin. They are awesome army. Namarti Corps is very balanced as you use a lot of models- Thralls, Reavers, Morssar, Soulrender. Thralls synergies doesn't work as they have 1'' weapons and 32mm bases, on 25mm bases they would be freaking broken at 130.

Leviadon is just scroll that doesn;t support Deepkin lore and playstyle

    Sharks are just bad scroll.

Some points reduction and we could see Aspects and Sharks in a lot of  builds.

Idoneth Book is awesome, I've won events with

    - Namarti Corps

    - Pure Eeels

    - Aspect of Sea

They are just very hard to master and punish you for making any mistakes/bad decisions.

  7. I don't think Kurnothi are an army or ever will be. We already have a lot of aelves/aelves looking armies - Sylvaneth, DoK, Deepkin + Free Cities stuff and we know Light Aelves and Malerion Aelves are coming sooner or later. I don't think that every warband needs to expanded into full faction.

  8. It doesnt work like this you can’t have a cake and eat it too.

Competitve lists are all about reliability not randomness thats why lists with huge randomness dont make it far in tournaments and thats their charm I guess. You cant have both and you need any reliability you can get to make it far in tournaments. Changing rules because you want randomness but yout dont really want it is terrible idea.

  9. Terrible idea that are a lot of players doing good with Gitz but Gitz are what they are an army with huge randomness. People love Gitz and some of them habe awesome results with them at tournaments. They are far from being uncompetitive

Whats more competitive scene is in awesome place - look at LGT results - 13 different factions in Top25.

  10. It won't played few games with Temple Nest - you do need Morath and Cauldron to make it work and you can't fit them both. Played games with Cauldron Hag, Bloodwrack Shrine, 20 Sisters, 10 Sisters, 2x5 Stalkers and 30 SoS with bucklers and it perform ok but wasn't really good vs Slaanesh or any other mobile armies. With Morathi you're losing +1 do save on Sisters which is huge.

People who know people who know people. I haven't directly seen anything. I likewise asked about Nighthaunt but they had no info for me (other than genric "points decreases").

Anything more about DoK, Hag going up is only nerf ?
