  1. I don't know but if the want to release thrid Aelf faction (doubt this but well - who knows) that would tie in nicely with Slaanesh but who knows I alwyas thought that this year we should get - Aelfs, Slaanesh, new Destruction and new Death and it's very possible.

  2. @Kramer I think they are doing fantastic job with balance right know, I read throught latest 3 Battletomes - Maggotkin, Legions of Nagash and Daughters of Khaine and they are very balanced - there isn't one combo option (so far) and so on, also those armies has some kind of answers for popular tournaments builds as well (Clown-Car will be having big problems with Nurgle and DoK). I still believe they should do something with DoT as this army is broken as hell, jsut because it : forgives mistakes like no other army, with Gaunt Summoner has all others options covered. I believe that changing Summoner keyword - to for example Everchosen or some new Tzeentch keyword so he couldn't be taken with DoT allegiance would fix the issue - as then DoT would struggle much more against horde armies. But DoK  and NurgleI believe could give DoT some problems and wouldn't be easy prey anyway. I think what DoT is doing is limiting somehow design space for new armies - Deepkin are rumored to be elite army with expensive heroes, big monsters etc. If so they will suffere a lot against DoT as Sylvaneth, SCE suffer. Changehost is just bad for the game and I don't want it totally nerfed but taking away Summoner would do wonders as horde armies will be tough for DoT = DoT would need some changes in lists = it would open up new lists from other armies.

I am Sylvaneth player and the state this army is in is horrible (competitve wise) mainly because of DoT, there is a problem with SCE as well. Just imagine how much healthier competitive scene would look without DoT, so I was very disappointed that it didn't get any nerfs in FAQ (and simple nerf to take away Gaunt Summoner or nerfing his spell to something like arcane bolt  would help a lot).

  3. I think allies list for matched play confirms that they are coming soon, othwerwise why bother including them as they would be able to introduce them in GH2018 update. So they are coming for sure. It's not only lore snippets but actual matched play allies list. If they weren't coming in few months they wouldn't  be included in that allies list.

The Iron Heart also applies to the snake form, which has 12 wounds. So between sorceress form and snake form, she's essentially unkillable across a five round game.

Nope she can easily die in 2 battlerounds of combat.

    When is the open day?

    3rd of March?

    Yep it's 3rd of March

But I don't know we should get some info then I doubt they will be released until mid April, but GW might use 2018 to

    - release as many AoS armies as they could

    - release all Wh40k Codexes

So they may use 2019 for new Wh40 armies mainly and Wh40k armies are usually quite big releases unlike new AoS game.

    Which make perfect sense.

  6. Exactly people play for example GA:Destruction because of lack of specific armies. Also Allaiances  won't be equal - you can't have as much Destruction or Death armies as Order. But since GA don't give anything more than some lore framework (as campaign are no longer about Alliances) it doesn't better much.

I got theory about that bit of Sea Aelves fluff.

"They have been hiding in underwater cities and have control over some sea fauna, water and mist. I cannot be more specific but the apparently reason for being hiding is that they hides something in secret."

Maybe it's about Khaine ? In End Times Aislinn dies but he declares that he is Manthlan himself and dies(or is believed to be dead), then later on Teclis tosses Widowmaker - Sword of Khaine into sea. As we may find out Manthlan/Aislinn is alive being God/Leader of Sea Alves. Maybe he find out that Khaine essence is still alive in Widowmaker and it's kept in secret. That could tie in with Morathi and DoK who wants to bring back Khaine.

Yet instead of chasing them, Lokhir sped towards the shore where Tyrion awaited. Dawn was fully in the sky before anyone realized that Aislinn had taken a lone Skycutter and headed towards Fellheart's fleet.

Aislinn allowed himself to be taken by Fellheart, and there by the feet of Tyrion himself, the Sea Lord allowed his fate to be sealed. Cursing Tyrion and laughing menacingly, the blood of Sea Lord Aislinn spilled the decks of the Black Ark before the sea had suddenly erupted into a fierce Maelstrom. Lightning crackled in the skies overhead and a colossal wave larger than the tallest tower within the Black Ark reared up and slammed down upon the fleet. Fellheart's fleet was in ruins.

  7. Exactly , I have' played Elves in WFB since 5th edition and then Sylvaneth since GH2016 so until now I wasn't interested in playing any Order army just beacuse it's order. I was close to start DoT as I liked Acolytes and thought that I can use them with Slaves to Darkness.

Allegiance is nothing more then some framework and I doubt GW takes it into consideration releasing armies.

@Yokai I don't know juding by my area (about 30-40) active players both narrative and matched play noone gravitate towards GAlliances, then it looks similar when you look at big tournaments results and lits.

Nobody cares if Order is bloated with choices becasue hardly anyone mixes them, Destruction needs some love but in terms that we're lacking Orcs and Goblins armies

Mathlann sea elves? Probably yet another Order faction then. Not entirely convinced that is what is most needed right now.

And why not? I don't understand people being so caught up in allegiances. Majority of players (in my area about 90%) are faction specific players matched play or narrative. If rumors are true then in 2018 so far we will get Battletomes for  2 elves factions, one Chaos and Death. If there is some destruction coming in 2018 it's quite fine mix.

I guess they will use Tenebrael in DoK and I believe both Darling Covent and Scourge Privateers will be slowly removed along with other smaller factions. As obviously Malerion and Tyrion Elves aren't coming anytime soon so I doubt they will use any older kits when released.

  9. Yep in ET many Elves gods turned to be human gods as well, Mathlann (Manann) or Lileath (Lady of the Lake)  and Aislinn was Avatar of Mathlann/Mathlann

If this turns out to be true it's fantastic and bold move by GW as they aren't releasing Shadow/Light Aleves but something 100% different with it's own very interesting lore.

SO I guess one day we might see floating kingdom of Araloth :P

I think they’ll be a new force led by new people.

Now they won't as person who broke the news about them said that there is a lot on Manthlan/Aislinn in Sea Aelves which is awesome way to connect them to World That Once Was and End Times but doesn't limit GW in design.

Calling it now, new sea Aelves will be led by  Caledor.

Not really Aislinn became Avatar of Manthlan/Manthlan himself, he was killed by Tyrion but probably survived as guy who broke news about Sea Alves said that's a lot of Manthlan in there and Manthlan is/was Aislinn.

  12. So I guess we will learn more at AoS day it's 3rd of March so quite soon. It looks like I info I got last summer that Aelves will get two armies during campaign turns out to be true. I got to find the guy who told be this as it wasn't much credible last year so I didn't pay  much attention.
