  1. If it ends up being the vanguard of a full new kit in a wider Moonclan release, you might get both kinds of heads (helmet up and helmet down). But with it being up it makes a crescent moon shape in profile, which is a nice touch
  2. I know that @domus did really well with his Ironsunz towards the end of AOS 1.0, I wonder if he could add some perspective on how it worked for him?
  3. His role is a massive shiny new toy I spent time pinning and gluing and want to get on the table as quickly as possible The main tabletop reason for using him is basically the Yhetee pile in. Most turns you should be able to engineer it that you hit first with one of your combat units, keep him out of range then hit first with him too. Maybe even cheekily over the top of a Palisade if you use that, with the 3" range. It's debatable whether or not he's better than 9x Yhetees (might be a good discussion topic for your show @James S?), but I'm looking forward to finding out. Yeah you could neatly swap out 140pt Butcher + 140pt Leadbelchers + 60pt Gorger + 60pt Endless Spells = 400pt second block of Ogors. Which is essentially what @James S came up with. I might give something like that a try next. I do think you can justify multiple Butchers in the list because you have multiple legitimate targets for the +1 to hit (Ironguts, Ogors, maybe the Tyrant if he's been debuffed). So even if you double-pop the Cauldron there is good use for it. I like multiple Butchers so you have a reasonable chance of getting the result you need, but even then I usually pump out a heap of mortal wounds turn 1 when nobody is nearby, then switch to rolling 1s when they are up in range! That diciness (similar to the Big Name) is one of the things I'd like to see tidied up if and when we get some attention as a faction. This made me chuckle I don't disagree! I'll let you guys know how it goes. Maybe not many photos though, my Gutbusters are mostly unpainted (the shame!). I think finishing them will be next on the agenda after I finish up my Star Wars Legion stuff.
  4. I was thinking maybe this, with the board control spells to make up for the lack of bodies: Or maybe this version with the Gnoblars:
  5. Wouldn't disagree with you there! I like (and use) Aleguzzlers way more than I can justify rationally. Nice list! How do you find the minimum size Ironguts fare?
  6. Yep, I was just thinking the same thing this morning! It's dispiriting that Chaos are getting this gigantic leg up with yet more GA-wide keyword synergies, and Destruction is left to rot as usual. Very dispiriting.
  7. Worth pointing out that the Rogue Idol will also buff the casting on your Grots wizards, that's a little bit of available synergy too.
  8. Totally agree, I use a block of 60 Arrow Grots + Shaman as a buliding block for a lot of Destruction armies. Only thing I would point out is that the Greenskinz (or Arrow Boys) can buff the Weirdnob Shaman's casting if you wanted to go down that path. ...but I still use the Gitmob archers :-)
  9. I've got a game this Friday night, looking to get my Bonegrinder on the table. Should I run Gutbusters allegiance with him as the sole Ally, or take Destruction with 3x Ogors Battleline, and run a couple of "shorties" (normal Aleguzzlers) alongside him? Let's see some list ideas!
  10. That's awesome! I have never run multiple Tyrants before, but I guess you could stack Bully, and force your opponent to kill ALL your Tyrants before you start taking Battleshock. Especially if you roll low on the first D3 damage, and / or heal it back up with the Cauldron.
  11. @brobdingguts wow, that might be the choppiest army I've ever seen!
  12. What are your (and others') thoughts on this in particular? My own tendency would be an A-Rok and a Boss for 380 points. Gives you some mortal wound output and a couple of semi-durable heroes, one of them a Wizard. What do other people think, either as an Ally detachment or in a mixed Destro army? Would you find room for 10x Spider Riders in Mixed Destro maybe?
  13. Looks really good! I think you're right, dual A-Roks has to be the way to go at 1000 points. Fungoid is awesome! I use him loads. I'd been playing with similar lists a while ago...I wasn't sure what to do with the last 100 points though. I was choosing between a Boss, or 20x Allied Grots for objectives. Are you happy with the 3x 5 Riders? The other one is the spells, with the low body count I was thinking of taking both board control spells (Gravetide and Palisades). Although having that mortal output outside of the combat phase is obviously useful. As a broader observation (and not that anyone asked!), I love playing events at different points levels over the course of the year. I think it's really healthy to have some 1k and 2500 point events in the calendar, because it keeps you thinking, keeps presenting different list building challenges, and different armies come to the fore. Playing at 1000 points last year was the main time I didn't feel like I was playing with one arm tied behind my back with Destruction.
  14. That's one more than the Bonesplitterz Battletome, which had only the Savage Big Boss in plastic.
  15. @svnvaldez could you do something with Grot wolves? The kits aren't amazing...but they are plastic.
  16. Just for fun...an army where literally everything can either deepstrike, or has the 6" pile in funtimes. What artefacts would you take?
  17. Interested to hear how this goes. What are the remainders of those lists please? For the second one, you couldn't fit in 1x 12 and 2x 3 Ogors? And re: the optimum unit size for Yhetees...do you find you can get all 9 into combat on those big bases with 1" range?
  18. I've found the Guardian's Coronet useful, if you are going to YOLO the Maw Krusha in particular. If you're taking the first turn, it can be good double-turn insurance.
  19. I don't think that's fair, the post on the Warhammer Community site was a clear hype piece. Promising that "it's going to be a big one", and inviting the community to "start speculating at just what will be unveiled". If people got hyped for it, that's because the official preview of the seminar explicitly invited them to do so. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/08/27/24th-aug-warhammer-community-at-the-nova-open-reveals-previews-and-top-table-actiongw-homepage-post-2/
  20. They all get it bud, it doesn't matter whether it's physically present on the model or not. It's just part of their warscroll. If you really wanted to you could glue a pistol onto their hip...but I wouldn't bother personally.
  21. I wonder if there's scope for a Yhetee - Bonegrinder combo? Maybe with a Skaal too... we will fight at a place and time of MY choosing!
  22. What ideas do people have for an Ogors list (combined Gubtusters and Beastclaw, Destruction allegiance with all Ogors Battleline)?
  23. Destruction didn't get many models - only Ironjawz had new models, and that was a relatively small release. The other releases (which were over 2 years ago now) were just books with no new models. So Bonesplitterz and Beastclaw are still rocking the Finecast. The really weird thing is the lack of GH Allegiance Abilities...Destruction have been almost entirely frozen out of that. Gutbusters and Moonclan players would love to be in the position Brayherds were in a year ago, never mind that they might get a book on top of that (same with Nighthaunt).
