  1. Regarding Hunters, I still really like Bow Hunters. I’m planning to use them as objective campers. Able to be fairly tanky, still put out a ranged threat and do some damage without having to move them up the board (I’ve got a Durthu / Drycha for that)
  2. I had thought it wouldn’t. Waiting to see if it come up on an FAQ. My thinking is that you only ever use 1 warscroll for a model - not a combination of 2
  3. @Darkundo My advice, after playing Sylavaneth for over a year now, is once you have decided on a list to try - stick with it. There are so many rules, interactions and strategies you can use within Sylvaneth that you’ll need to play a few games to learn everything. Keep reading the book, after each game - re-read it. There will be rules you forget or play wrong (I still find this is true for me too) Sylvaneth is such a cool army to play. I genuinely get really excited to see it is still attracting new players. Welcome along!
  4. @Thrst77 I like the list. I agree that Durthu and that artefact is going to be devastating! It seems to find it’s way into every list I write at the moment. How do you see yourself using the Malevolent Maelstrom? I really like the rules, just worry that casting in a Gnarlroot list will hamper my spells as much as the enemy.
  5. @Aezeal regarding the changes to the Hunter’s Envoys rule. I had thought the wording changed to allow spreading a command ability used by any hero, rather than just the general. How is it more restricting?
  6. @AtreyuMoonstone is a good choice, especially since you won’t be putting woods all across the board. As far as spells go, regrowth on the Ancient is definitely a great idea. Maybe treesong might be a good spell for your Wych, allowing you to really punish anyone who wanders into your woods. You’ll just need to be careful where you place your non-Sylvaneth units or they risk getting hurt by the woods too
  7. I’ve not had any experience with the endless spells. Malevolent Maelstrom is a super cool spell. Just remember it will help your opponents unbinding too!
  8. Hey @Atreyu! I think you’ll find playing a Sylvaneth army totally unique and rewarding (when things go right!) I would recommend reading the Warhammer Community post on Sylvaneth they did in the run up to AoS 2.0. There is some good tips and insights for players new to the faction. Other than that, the Start Collecting Set is such a good deal and is always a great way to start. You can start to flesh out the army with your particular choice of trees from there.
  9. My guess is a lot of the apparent ‘changes’ seen in the App are mistakes. It doesn’t make sense why they would bring out a huge amount of FAQ and errata information for the new edition and exclude these wars roll changes. In my updated Gnarlroot list, Durthu has the artefact that gives him +1 hit & +1 would from the realm of life. So at least he will be a little better at range - and his sword on 2+/2+ is amazing ?
  10. In the updated App, Durthu now wounds on a 5+ with his shots. Think this is a mistake?
  11. Like the poster said above, I think you’ve missed the Forest Folk Battalion cost from this. I’m really interested in Harvestboon (although I don’t own anywhere near enough Dryads to run it!) TLA Durthu 2 x Branch Wraiths 20 x Dryads 20 x Dryads 10 x Dryads 6 x Bow Hunters / Scyhthe Hunters Forest Folk Harvestboon I think it comes out a little under 2K, maybe leaving 20 points for a cheeky endless spell. The problem I have with it is the shear number of points taken up by Battleline units leaving not a lot else. With the above list, would probably take Durthu as my General and give him the +1 to charge command trait for a tasty +2 to his teleport charges
  12. WIth the balewind, now it’s an endless spell you take it as an army choice, all wizards know the spell but you can only have one up at a time. So no need to restrict it to just one hero anymore ?
  13. Another cool combo would be to use a Forest Folk Battalion to move your Branchwraiths up the board on your turn 1 and cast some endless spells deep into enemy territory. Something like the pendulum would be fun, especially if they deployed in a nice line for you. Or the maelstrom so you can have a better chance of shutting down enemy casters (Credit to Les for giving me this idea at the weekend)
  14. Oooh, TLA Ancient in a combat as part of a Household Battalion also means they can’t retreat. So unless your opponent has -2 rend or MW output the unit basically kills itself if you get shield of thorns up Holy cow!
  15. Reavers seem to be exactly the same and count as battleline units! pretty much gonna be a regular feature of my lists from now on as they're great support units
  16. Can anyone get the Spireguard battalion to open up? Doesn't seem to work on my iPhone ?
  17. Looking good Buckler. Such an intimidating force to look at on the table that, from experience, is utterly devastating on the charge!
