I play mixed order limited to Elves and Sylvaneth so I can still field my wood elf army from old hammer. It's great fun plus the Avatar of the Hunt with Ghyrstrike and legendary fighter is an absolute monster in combat!
Can you remind me what the Ghyrstrike does please?

Yeah, I was a little surprised by the colour scheme (and overall theme).

Amazing ideas and absolutely amazingly constructed!
Keep up the good work and keep the photos coming! :D
...Can't wait to see more!

Yeah I was just thinking because of the upcoming Slaanesh release. Could have been a very beautiful overly proud vanity aelf.
...I enjoy riding the hype-train Haha!

Is that the Yenlui rune on the horn?
I would love it to be a Wanderers release, some type of totem area effect horn blower.
However, do you think it could be some corrupted Slannesh aelves?

I think with the current range there is a very limited return on what they can expect us consumers to invest in
Yes we love the army, but are we going to keep buying millions of glade guard when I'd bet the majority of us on this thread have an *th edition army that we are all too emotionally attached with to accept that our King and Queen have long but passed (so they say ...)
I'd love an expanded range, my guess s that they have an absolute surplus of Glade Guard and in terms of supply chain management do not need anymore, unless they can put them to work
-
I'm not too saddened, my forty Glade Guard are still pretty snug in their case!

Is there any indication of timelines for version 2 battletomes such as Sylvaneth, Fyreslayers etc? ...or the sylvaneth underworld warband release date?
I thought it was interesting that the sylvaneth had a Revenant style wizard, surely it must get unique rules in AoS too. Unless it's everyone's new Branchwraith model
I think it's interesting how they have reordered all of the armies on the GW site.
Aelves are pretty much car parked in one cluster. I'm hoping for an unexpected Wanderers battletome.

Was there indication of a release date for Ylthari's Guardians?
I think they look great and are very indicative of what is to come for Sylvaneth updates.
I wouldn't be surprised if them did a whole expanded Tree Rev style section of the army, led by a Kurnoth.
My rumour chips are down

@Erosharcos- sent it to GW! 😀

@overtninja Wanderer list sounds good. Let us know how you get on.
I'm always a big fan of Kurnoth hunters too, but WWR should cover their role!

Just been on to the webstore, I'm going to call it that the "Aelves" get a battletome release. All of them in an Order style book.
Also, Inferno2 with Prince Maesa is available for pre-order next week! \m/

I'm a regular user of the Dhomain enclave allegiance. Out of curiosity are there any Briomdar users?
-
The same reasoning applies to the Sot-Watch "stand and shoot". They don't get 2 shots each if they didn't move because it is he charge phase not the shooting phase.
Or at least that's how I've been playing it.

Namarti reavers. Don’t seem that great but our only really shooting unit. Any hope there?
...use allies?!
Waywatcher would do the trick!

In the designers commentary they say the shields have no rules. This is either a mistake (most likely) or a small leak indicating a wanderers review, hopefully of the same scale as beasts of chaos (much less likely, but historically beastmen and wood elves were pitched as antagonists, so it isn't bonkers.) Also unlikely is a review of all shielded units that have them optionally for no disadvantage, as that's a lot of work for minutiae.
I'm wondering if similar unexpected small adjustments were given to beastmen before the tome dropped.
Am I a conspiracy theorist?
I noticed that comment in the designers commentary too, seemed a little contradictory.
It would be easy to do a small Wanderers battletome launch.
Avatar of the hunt model, some type of stag lord, extra battalion that is Wild Hunt based, some type of realm specific theme like the enclaves etc.
Forest Dragon? I don't know?!
I really don't understand the logic behind re-rolling save rolls of 1 = -2" movement ...but in saying that I didn't understand the allegiance ability nerf. Apparently, my pure Asrai brain just can't comprehend these decisions!
With regards to the Beatmen/Wood Elf rivalry, apparently there is a faction of Beastmen that stalk the Realm-roots hunting Wanderers. (Just saying, we're in the lore. Plus, we are featured in more lore with Prince Maesa).
Also, YES!!! ...you probably are a conspiracy theorist. But damn I love a good conspiracy!

I like that they finally acknowledged that there are shields on the Wild Riders, but I am surprised at the movement nerf.
They must be some heavy-ass lead shields! 🤣🤣🤣

@The Red King, what are those skulls? They look cool!
-
@Rogue Sun, please keep the WIP's coming!
I'd like to see more.

@Rogue Sun, I absolutely love it! What a fantastic concept and really well executed!
What does that translate to in terms of warscrolls?

I had a really good "open play" game the other day.
It was loosely matched, but most importantly all of the units were agreed upon by myself and my opponent that felt fluffy.
I took the following list:
GHB2018 Wanderers allegiance (1170 points)
Orion (general, with Wanderer key words but no summoning)
Nomad Prince (with star caster bow)
2x5 Wild Riders
5x Sisters of the Thorn
10x Eternal Guard
10x Sisters of the watch
vs
Tomb kings with GHB2018 Death grand allegiance (1180 points)
Royal Warsphinx (with an item from realm of light, something like a 5++)
3x Necropolis knights
2x 10 Tomb Guard
1x Mounted Liche Priest
Endless spell: Life swarm (because they look like scarabs)
It was open war cards, with rainy weather (reductions to run/charge and -1 to hit in shooting)
We had to obtain and defend 4 random objective markers.
We had an absolute blast.
I ultimately won the game in turn 3 or 4, but we really enjoyed. Part of the fun was agreeing on eachothers lists and what fit in thematically.
A unit of Wild Riders barely did 2 or 3 wounds to the Tomb Guard before dying in the next round of combat. Definitely need to be used differently from 8th, but were nice to mop up a couple of wounds once the shooting did the damage.
We've agreed to try different list and different units just to keep things fresh. Otherwise, like you said it's always a Waystone Pathfinder based list.

David Guymer has a unit of Wardancers in his upcoming Idoneth novel. I highly recommend when it comes out, buying it and letting BL know you bought it for the Wardancer lore. That's how you get more. Also there are 2 Guy Haley releases (one audio drama, one novella) about a Wanderer Glade Lord on a Great Stag. They've been linked,... maybe in the Pre 2.0 link so at any rate search them out and give them love also
Is that the Prince Maesa advent entry and the Inferno2 story?
What's the Idoneth book called?
How do you let Black Library know?

What movement tricks? 1 unit a turn just doesn't do it for me, how are you focus firing with just 1 unit?
I genuinely can't believe how they nerfed this allegiance ability.
I think at most all they needed to do was review the command trait.

I also feel so uplifted when I hear any mention of Wanderers in AoS lore.
I genuinely thought they were phsed out, but it's encouraging that they are releasing narrative content.
Also, I enjoyed Sands of Grief.

Hey everyone,
Bit of a random and slightly off topic (but not really) question.
How much points would you say that the old warscrolls of Orion, the Shaowdancer, and war dancers would be worth if they stil had their Wanderer key words etc plus the latest GHB2.0 Wanderer allegiance abilities?
I'm just trying to gauge what would be comparable to Orion and the Shadow Dancer in a very loose mathced play/ Path to Glory campaign.
Thanks

@Denegaar- yeah I think it's worth it.
I too, play for fun (&fluff), with a very narrative style.
I went for the models that I thought I'd enjoy painting and it built from there!
My favourite so far is my Eidolon of Mathlann:)
