  1. I feel like the OBR should have either medium range shooting with 2 shots per model on a 5/10 model unit that doesn’t deal much damage but debuffs enemies or long range sniping abilities but with low model counts (Like a Morghast/Stalker with a Greatbow). Good quality shooting but low volume.
  2. I expect about 3 new Ossiarch sculpts that will compel me to purchase several purely because I’ve almost completely finished my backlog. All that’s left is Kainan’s Reapers, 20 Mortek Guard, a Sphiranx, and the detailing for my Tithe-Nexus
  3. It’s funny because I’m pretty sure nobody has wanted to be there since shortly after Sundered Fate made the godforsaken meat trees show up in every box. I hate those things.
  4. The Ossiarch have several: At least one on top of the Gothizzar Harvester, one on top of the Mortek Crawler, their Kavalos Deathriders come with two different standards that have at least A raven on them.
  5. Finally, a story where the Ivory Host actually shows up! Oh who am I kidding, it’s gonna be the bloody Stalliarch Lords again.
  6. https://reddit.com/r/FleshEaterCourts/comments/16v15z6/guess_what_arrived_today/ We’ve got confirmed sprues.
  7. I wouldn’t expect the book until mid-November at the earliest. They’re on about a 2-3 month release schedule.
  8. Their godforsaken color scheme for the thing probably didn’t help either- It looks like string cheese and stone, as opposed to amber and bone, and you couldn’t even buy it standalone for a while. It looks cool but they did it so unbelievably dirty on release.
  9. The only reason I’d consider a foam case over magnets is for transporting Arkhan and my Krondspine Incarnate, because I don’t trust the glue to keep them from breaking. Everything else can trust, but those two are suspicious.
  10. So for the Ossiarchs, the following has happened: Archaon broke through the Arx Terminus with his flying Varanguard which resulted in the forces of Chaos being able to gain a beachhead, but fighting there has mostly stalled because of the next developments. Because the Ossiarchs lost a lot of troops during Nagash’s gambit in Hysh and rebels inspired by the Lumineth’s incursions have been doing their best to defeat the Bonereapers, their efforts at expansion have halted as they’re pressed on all sides by threats. This has required them to use more unorthodox sources of bones such as beast bones. Unfortunately, because Ghur has been awakened by the Rite of Life, these Beast-Bone Ossiarchs are prone to explosive fits of rage and violence, resulting in a massive crisis. Fortunately, all of this is old hat to the Ivory Host who have basically been the stars of the OBR this edition, since their scrimshawed runes actually work to negate a massive amount of the effects of this awakening. They’ve been able to trade these secrets to other legions in exchange for bone stockpiles and soul matter. They were also the ones responsible for figuring out how to “break” the Krondspine Incarnate and allow them to use them as a weapon. There are apparently many benefits to ignoring Katakros’s restrictions on bones. The Null Myriad and Stalliarch Lords haven’t been idle this edition either though, since the Myriad have been gathering massive quantities of Grave-Sand for an unknown purpose but highly likely to be related to returning Arkhan The Black to “life”. The Stalliarch Lords have been launching counter-raids into Hysh and exterminating Aelven villages without mercy as revenge for their Dawnriders not breaking fast enough from their Deathrider formations. Ultimately, the Bonereapers have had a pretty solid showing this edition with massive “wins” for the Ivory Host, minor wins from the Null Myriad and Stalliarch Lords, and minimal showing from the Praetorians and Elites, while the Crematorians saw battle against Tzeentchian forces and have been scouting Lumnos using clandestine agents, but not much else.
  11. Part of the issue is GW gave it a genuinely garish color scheme and picked probably the worst possible angle to show it off from. It looks nicer with a red-orange to yellow-orange color scheme and bones that are done using the OBR battletome’s method (Wraithbone->Skeleton Horde->Bone drybrush) than the grayish color it uses in its artwork.
  12. Honestly, I think the whole Incarnate idea has some legs, but there should be consequences for letting them run wild beyond them occasionally attacking your own units.
  13. It’s highly unlikely that they would do anything like that soon unless TOW sells particularly well- They’re taking a gamble that enough people will jump from the video game sphere to the wargaming sphere that they can make a suitable ROI and old players who got burned by the End Times will not only return, but buy more models. It’s entirely possible that the anticipated playerbase will end up much smaller than expected and continued support would be considered unprofitable, resulting in it getting dropped again.
  14. Dang, that OBR one would have some great value, but it’s gonna be a hard sell for anyone who already collects them- I’m about 90% sure we all already have Katakros so that’s roughly 115 bucks of value that’ll need to be resold. And, of course, there will probably be the mandatory 20 Mortek Guard. If it goes heavy on the Elites (Immortis Guard/Stalkers/Morghast) though, I could see maybe picking it up.
  15. While it would be absolutely hilarious if the way they make the Soulreaper stop sucking is by giving him a big, murderous pet zombie dragon to supplement his otherwise lacking durability, it’s too major of a departure from the relatively clean aesthetic of the Ossiarchs. It’d be dope, but I wouldn’t count on it.
  16. I’m hoping that 4.0 updates old factions (Ogors, Skaven, BoC, the like) and sends out the next waves for armies that otherwise are currently small like Fyreslayers, Kharadron, Ossiarchs, Lumineth, Idoneth, and their ilk. Maybe even a Gargant or two.
  17. Yeah, I’d be extremely annoyed as well. I’m pretty sure this would make 5 unique Soulblight warbands while the Ossiarchs, Kharadron, Flesh-Eaters, Lumineth, Fyreslayers, and at least a few others have only one. They already have more units than the FEC and either of the other Death factions combined, boasting just slightly less than if you combined the Ossiarch and Nighthaunt ranges. They don’t need yet more stuff!
  18. I can’t believe Klonk’s first action was to singlehandedly crush Archaon’s spine and declare “It’s over, Archaon Everchosen, this is the Age of Sigmar: Dawnbringers: Book II - Reign of The Brute (Limited Edition)”
  19. Harbingers was Book 1, Reign of The Brute is Book 2.
  20. So Trugg has magical migraines and wants to smash the source with a giant hammer in order to make them stop? I feel him on that one.
  21. The OBR weren’t hit super hard by the points changes, but the change to our recursion for our Immortis/Stalkers was the real meat of it. It now means that you can bring back (Assuming Arkhan, Katakros, and a Boneshaper with Artisan’s Key) at max 2 Immortis Guard per turn, with the 2nd only having 1 wound. This is a huge nerf when previously you could return 4+ at full wounds. The points drops on the Mortek units and Gothizzar are nice, but they fundamentally fail to address why the Harvester isn’t being taken: Its ability just isn’t good and it’s not particularly durable either. I do suspect we could see some Crawlers showing up though, because I figure 180 is about their upper threshold for being usable.
  22. Their solution to the problem posed by the Immortis Guard was far more elegant than I expected, although it looks like they haven’t realized that the reason people aren’t using the Gothizzar isn’t because it’s too expensive, it’s because its warscroll ability sucks. This will probably somewhat lower Ossiarch winrates, but I don’t think it’ll put them below 50%.
  23. I’d genuinely be disappointed if an Ossiarch warband didn’t have a pet unit. They’re probably up there for armies that would have units like that, assuming they have a Mortisan.
