  1. They have done a few proper LE covers. Like the Black Templars codex had some brilliant retro Blanche artwork on the cover. Most though have simply had the banner text removed. So it seems to be a case of depends on the army.
  2. This too. Pretty much sums up how I play!
  3. 100% this. In 40k I couldn't care less about all the mission packs they keep introducing and I don't play frequently enough to learn all the rules they keep changing each "season". Same with AoS. The tempest of war deck is brilliant for casual play and I really hope it comes to AoS too.
  4. This would be great if all armies could viably do this. It's a shame GWs approach so far for updated armies seems to have been adding a simple foot hero rather than plugging obvious roster gaps (fyreslayers). Granted NH and Syl got some nice additions though
  5. For a centrepiece and wow model, Alarielle has to be up there for me. A really stunning kit with so many details. I'd also add a lot of the other Sylvaneth models too such as Drycha and the Kurnoths. From a different angle I think the most fun I've had actually painting an AoS model was Gotrek though. It's a small model but the sculpt is brilliant and has all the lore to go with it.
  6. Both Fury of the Deep and Arena of Shades are still readily available at multiple retailers. I'm hoping similar availability for this box to avoid any kind of pre-order rush.
  7. I've been out of AoS for a while... Did the rumours of Dwarf soup / Grungni Dwarfs ever get any more substance? I know since they were aired first we've had the Fyreslayers battletome as a standalone release but the whole classic Grungni Dwarf rumour front seems to have dried up?
  8. If they are less reliant on the woods I will be one happy camper. Whilst it's a unique mechanic, I've always found it overly complicates the army and they're a pain to carry around and use. I'd love for the woods to add value, but not be integral to the army being viable.
  9. I thought this... "Bad news, it's not coming till 2023" ... That's good news to me as I expected more like 2024!? Especially previewing models mid 2022. That's not actually that far off.
  10. It's odd as the main protagonist in the Dark Harvest novel is/was a warrior priest so the position is still a thing in AoS lore.
  11. Interested too. All gone very quiet on this front.
  12. Love them. They remind me a lot of Smaug... The faces look like they have real personality.
  13. All the news, rumours and uncertainty is making it hard to commit at the moment to anything new. Like many above I have a large WFB Dwarf army on squares (along with Beastmen, Orcs and Golbins and Tomb Kings!) I had been toying with the idea of re-basing and trying to shoehorn into AoS as proxies but at least now I know I can hold off and hopefully go all in on a new Grungni faction instead (please be true!). So great news on the Old World front. I also really fancy a purely human based Cities army too but given how old the sculpts are and the rumours of a rebrand as Dawnbringers and conversion into AoS Imperial Guard I'm really reluctant to commit anything to that now. AoS lacks a grounded, regular joe human faction so hopefully there is some news on this front too soon.
  14. As a new player to AoS trying to learn the Sylvaneth army. All these wyldwood rules melt my brain.
  15. Given all the buildup seemingly happening in WD, I wonder how long it will be before there is anything formal/teased on this....
  16. As both a former WFB Dwarf player and current Black Templar player in 40k.., I have to say the last few pages of this thread have made for some heart warming reading!
  17. Similar to the above... Old time Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf player myself.... I would personally be happy if they souped Fyreslayers and a new Grungni faction based around (and possibly including) the style of the dispossessed cities units. I can also see why people would be unhappy with the inclusion of KO in this soup although from a personal perspective it wouldn't necessarily bother me so long as the rules still make sense and there is a good narrative reason. To me the idea conjurs up images of the old WFB roster but dialled up to 11. Armoured Dwarf foot soldiers, fantastic slayer models and hopefully some great war machines. Basically imagining what the current AoS sculpt standard could do with the old Dwarf roster is really exciting.
  18. Also no mention of Sequitors being conditional battleline... I wonder if that's going.
  19. Grungni Dwarfs would also break my wallet... here's hoping.
  20. Not sure if I've just missed it... But has there been any comment/rumour on if/when there will be new battletomes for Stormcast and I guess Orruks? When indomitus dropped the new space marine codex followed a couple of weeks later if I remember correctly.
  21. It was the same with Indomitus. The rulebook in that had a full cover picture with no text.
  22. Didn't the easy to build sequitors come with scenic bases too? Whereas soul wars weren't. Could just be a separate e2b kit of the models.
  23. I really hope something happens with Disposessed to make them more of a thing. I had a sizable Dwarf army back in WFB and really loved the lore. I've been pining for a way to recreate the classic dwarf aesthetic without having to soup in additional cities models or use counts-as stand-ins. Coming late to AoS, the lack of options in Fyreslayers was a bit of a turn-off and KO never appealed. A few new classic style kits and dispossed mixed with Fyreslayers would suit me fine personally... GW could take my money.
  24. At £34.50 leaked pricing for the warsong rev... Is it possible that this is actually a new unit rather than a buffing hero? That's the same price as kurnoths and drycha...
