Well, this all being super speculative.... when I think of Camels/Alpacas I go “why?” They don’t scream “fantasy war beast” (of course neither do horses but there you go) But looking at the Sphiranx it’s more fantastical. Of course, who knows what this new beast of war will be. If GW makes a crazy AoS’d up camel or alpaca or kangaroo I might change my mind. 🐫 🦙 🦒 🦘🪄🦄

From the Spikey Bits page, they have some good captures of the video. Sorry if this is a repost.... Oh yeah baby!! Im very excited about this one. Is it a singular hero type model flying on a cloud of light and death (a la the TZ Magister on disk, or Shaman)? Or a new unit of mages/warriors like the Stoneguard? But is it a Named Hero, or Generic? We did just get the Stonemage... which is similar? But he doesn't fly.... Hmmm... A flying unit would be awesome, it's the Wind Temple after all yes? This is the moment that I'm ... well... Meh about. Or... just concerned? As mentioned earlier, and in my post, the rumor if this being a Sphiranx is SO tantalizing. But, comparing this pic to the model, I'm less hopeful.... Here's my thoughts: IN the top left corner, a Tassel. Could this be from the reigns, OR the end of a long tassel like the Sphiranx? The neck/fur on the Sphiranx has more tufts/texture than this one. To me, it looks more camel/llama like. BUT, maybe this is what a non corrupted Sphiranx looks like? I'd be way more impressed with a weird fantasy spin on a ram/tiger combo that a camel/llama combo... After all, as I glance through some other units, I'm drawn to the SC's Dracolines, which are some of the coolest models/beasts! Hey, I love a good horse cavalry like the next player, but give me something fantastical! Space Wolves ride cyborg wolves, SC ride Dracolines... Cmon GW! Give us a box with 3 LRL's riding untainted Sphiranx's ala SC' Evocators on Celestial Dracolines. We can only dream and speculate. The "Sun" on this armor/shield doesn't concern me as much... maybe it should. it's a nice visual change from the other units that the LRL use with Runes on them. So, a question is why is THIS shield/model different? Is it just the Vanari that have runes on shields and armor? However, In the top right corner there's a wee glimpse of a shield...with an... awesome squiggly line on it. lol. Maddening and fun.... looks like the LRL are in for some treat regardless.

Awesome post @LuminethMage. This makes me ask “what are they!?!” also. It calls them “Leonine Creatures”, and “order of Hyshian mystics”, and Teclis used them as “custodians of treasures”. But then it says the eye was bestowed upon the “creatures”. Maybe they are/were a semi intelligent/aware being/creature but not a “humanoid” type? Thus being able to be directly corrupted by Chaos? (I’m new ish so not sure exactly how this corruption works. Is it different for animals than for “people”? ) In AoS are there other “animals” that have a connection to the Aether? also, I’d love for this to be a new non corrupted model/unit. The model is awesome. I’m not a fan of a “camel” but a weird long necked feline type with ram horns that can “pounce upon and crush foes” ? Take my money! So much cooler that the Mountain Yak style. (This feline face could be construed as fox like as well.) But isn’t it huge!? It comes on a 90mm oval base, like the SC Fulminators/Decimators/etc kits. Imagine he LRL getting a huge cavalry unit like that!?! Maybe as been said above, that not all were corrupted and Teclis saved/helped them? although after another look at the video, the “neck” of the mount doesn’t look like a sphyrinx.....

Ohhhhh. Snap. This is cool! Where did you hear/see this? And is this based on the Underworlds unit?

While I’m tempted to get the Direchasm for the Lumineth, I’m on the fence... is it worth $75 msrp? Especially since I just got the new Warcry set but, to make sure: you take these 4 models as a whole unit yes? You can’t just use the leader? And has anyone been using some Idoneth with their Lumenith? If so, which ones? And I’ve actually got in two games!!! Only 1k points, and no sentinels yet. Details are fuzzy but although I lost, it was fun. My Rune of Petrification went off every time and was awesome. My Dawnriders charged in, did some good damage, then got wiped off the board. There are a BUNCH of things to remember to do.... thanks goodness for the AOS reminder app!!!

Those photos look awesome Pyrescribe!! and speaking of Dawnriders... I’m so close to finishing up a squad!! Whew! But, wanting ideas for their lances. In particular the blades. My wardens are similar to the rear rider (a glowish blue steel). I’m wanting to give these Dawns more of a sun metal quality. Kind of like the Steedmaster in this photos. And it’s ok. But any ideas on getting a “glow” to these blades?

First, great job on the Warden! as others have suggested... Maybe do either a light or dark base coat on the pants which will make the top color lighter/darker. If I recall right, there is a wash of Gryph Hound Orange over the robes? Maybe do a gray base and then some Gryph Hound? In the pic, it looks like the pants are a lighter shade of the tabard. So maybe a glaze of Troll Slayer or Fire Dragon if you go orange, or Wild Rider Red if you go red. Over a base of light gray or white to make it lighter? But a yellow orange could also work. Like Iyaden Yellow? Hope this helps... 🤘🏻

Those look really cool! 😎 and I’m totally in the same boat. I’ll finish 5..... then take a long break. They look great, but the gaps! The Gaps! in the front armor/gem spot on the horses! And even the face to helmets!! are a real pain.... never thought I’d have to use milliput/green stuff on every model.😧🤬

This is so cool!! I really am enjoying your Lion theme. I do agree that the head leans towards the larger size but can’t wait to see the progress and paint! Dude that looks great. I really love the armor. “Simple” and lets the blue colors pop out. What paints did you use on the armor?

Some awesome reporting from the front lines!! Got my blood pumping there... And love the pics! Which Endless Spells did you end up using/swaping in for the Dawnriders? Right now, I feel that 10 of them is a good ammount, leaves you with points for other things... Notice you're using the MiniMag Trays. I've been looking at them, but never having used them, wondering how useful they are? Those objective markers are SWEET!! And yeah... that white armor is looking good! Is it base coat/prime of white, then some Apothecary Contrast, then clean up with white?🤘 Keep up the good battle reports!

Finished my Lava/Chaoscape and Snow/Ice bases, and got a Dawnrider on it. Now to finish the others and get them all based!

Wow. I just got some Blue Stuff. Looks like it works really well. I also have some green stuff and milliput to try as a sculpting material.

Thanks for the photos! And yeah.... with that mod, they bare a striking resemblance! The Alarith Hammer Heads anyone? That I'd like to see! And speaking of Pauldrons... are you using a mould for the lions, or sculpting them by hand? Cause that's some mad skills right there! They look great. I also like these helmets as a mod. Some really cool ideas here!

For those of you that have built the Stonemage, a question! How is the structural integrity of the model? Specifically the apex of the rocks. I really want to build it, but I’m concerned about that.... anyway to make it stronger? Or is it solid? I’ve stared at the sprue with no real luck in answering my nagging thought. 🤙🏻

Holy Jebus.... finally finished ONE of my Dawnriders.... Getting it together at the end was... frustrating to say the least. For the collective: -Do yall build and paint them in sub assemblies? -If so, how easy/hard was the final build? For me getting the reigns/hand to stay put was maddening. His body and legs were ok, but luckily the armor covers up the minor gaps. I just hope the shield fits... lol -If not, how do you find the painting? Im not that steady yet, so I err on the side of sub's to make sure I don't have to keep painting and repainting the same area. (Watching videos like the Duncan Rhodes ones sometimes make me want to cut off my hands... How does he get in there?!?!) -Should I add a skull to the Lava Base? lol... keep forgetting that I have them.

Totally agree. The Wardens were/are weird, kinda flat, with maybe an angle to help out positioning. And then the Dawn‘s are a ball joint? Neato. The flexibility the ball joint gives you is very cool. Hopefully we will see it on other/more models in the future.

Hmmm. That looks ... kinda cool. 😎 thanks for posting this. With the mask mod they really connect to the Spirit o the Mtn style. Are the heads ball jointed like the Riders?

That looks really awesome! Agree that it makes the model more dynamic. Very cool!! How does it look to paint when built? To me, he screams out for sub assemblies, but I could be wrong. And Ditto on all this. Would it be possible to Magnetize the Mtn's.... because that'd be awesome to have a 2for1 model, esp for the price.

this is all so awesome!!! I've totally deep dived into making, doing, crafting bases.... here's my LRL's so far. Used some of the GSW rolling pins, and basing materials from Geek Gaming (Luke's APS), which I love!! But all these bases look great! Where did you get the crystals from LuminethMage? GSW?

Looking good!! I'm just starting ONE of them... to see how bad I'll at it. I've already messed up the horses skin, so had to redo it. Ugh. And my bases that will eventually be for my Dawn's; 5 Chaos Lava (like the LRL are taking the battle to the realms of hell/chaos) and 5 Frozen Tundra... just cause... you know...Hoth.
