Intriguing post from my local store:

Weird hint about weird things, or just some Warhammer store staff jibber-jabber? I'm kind of assuming the later.

Never. Ever. In my life did I expect to see a fellow Canberran on here!!

I'm sure there will be some new things upcoming in DB6. Even if nothing super unexpected happens, it'll still be great to read everything in detail and complete the Dawnbringers collection. I'll have the full Broken Realms and Dawnbringers series hopefully, and they look cool on a shelf 😎

The Broken Realms and Dawnbringers series next to one another look oncredible.

Wrath of the Everchosen sticks out a bit but I love displaying them chronologically next to one another!!

In the other thread @Nezzhil said Ogors are "very safe" next edition. They are occasionally a touch rumour mongery. They then posted the "hungry" post. I suspect they know something to do with Ogors.

Thank you I missed that post. This is the problem after removing one Faction, we all worry ours is next.

Too much stress in the real world to worry about plastic soldiers!!

  4. @Whitefang has me concerned for Mawtribes now. If we dont get a major range refresh in 4.0 thatll be 13 years of AOS with only 2 character minis and a terrain piece barring whatever single model they get if there is no refresh.

Id honestly leave AOS if they rid themselves of Ogors.

Poor @Whitefang, he needs to be Silent to much time. My only expectation is that the next Lore campaign would Change things on the Realms foreverer. I am Hungry to know the news.

Im gunna cross all my fingers and toes and hope this is a subtle hint for something Ogor related!!

People just being wary and  cautious, it is the only army that would be in the danger zone at this point in time

no one outside rumormonger thought BoC was going to be discontinued and yet it happen so.

Im just waiting for the inevitable 4.0 refresh. Theyre going nowhere.

  7. I just cant comprehend this sudden decision that Ogors may be on the chopping block?

Ogors have way more of a narrative presence than BOC and Bonesplitterz combined.

GW wouldnt have put an Ogor unit inside COS and given it unique lore if they were going to squat the Faction.

Destruction is only 3 and a half* Factions I would highly doubt they would get rid of the only one in need of a refresh for zero reason as they dont even have a presence in TOW.

This is a real problem woth BOC and BS being axed. The uncertainty causing anxiety and fear mongering.

What I‘ve always found strange was that GW created Ogroids instead of making Ogors or Minotaurs, both would‘ve filled that spot and they combined them. Fimir with some adjustments could‘ve worked too.

I could now imagine classic Ogors (as their own faction and not part of CoS or something) to get removed as well and GW just keeping more bestial or unique variants of the Ogor concept around after removing Beastmen. Beastmen will live on in the aligned Chaos forces (I bet we‘ll see Khorngors and Pestigors now), so they‘re not completely gone but I think it‘s not surprising that people are less confident in GW keeping a couple of factions (or part of those factions) around, so there will be lots of similar rumors making the rounds I bet.

If they don’t get a big update in 4th edition, I would start worrying.

like they are not in BoC level of neglect but if you had to pick one army that was endanger it would be Ogor Mawtribe.

Ogors aren't getting squatted. It's not happening. This is 1000% fact.

Source: Trust me bro, but I'm right.

I am 100% certain Ogors are staying. We couldve had the exact same arguement for Seraphon or Skaven getting the chop but BOC has people in flight mode.

    Theyre going nowhere.

  9. I still think that the real reason we lost out on more Seasons of War was not to do with the Incarnate minis but the narrative.

Many threads were leading to a major plot point involving BOC.

I think they stopped those books because of an in house decision regarding BOC and we are now seeing the fruits of that decision.

That would be nice, so long as it's not just annoying "order book, chaos book, destruction book" nonsense and actually tells us some solid info.

Id wager thatll be exactly the case. The only good thing is with Destruction and Death only having 4 Factions a piece its easier to guess which are coming next.

For example if its Death we know it isnt FEC so its either Soulblight, OBR or Nighthaunt.

Hoenstly so far the Horror Black library novels I have been really enjoying so far and that was the main reason I grabbed it.

Ghothgull Hollow and Briadark are both excellent reads. I must get onto Black Eyed Saint.

Even though it doesnt come under the Horror banner, Gloomspite by Andy Clarke is absolutely terrifying and shows that the Gitz are truly more scary than their comedic antics would lead you to believe.

In Dark harvest it reveal that

      Reveal hidden contents

when Alrielle found Kurnous his reincarnation was incomplete and was left a savage beast where she had to tame the beast and then proceed to flay him alive to remove the darkness. From the flayed body he was reborn as Kurnoth that we know as while the flayed skin that had all the darkness was seal down bellow in a weald. Dark Harvest was all about the sigmarite priest finding out that the skin melded into a being call The Old Stag (a tittle sylvaneth book sort mention) and had this celtic barony build around his prison worship & blood sacrifice to him in a wickerman-esq ceremonies in exchange for good bounty as he begin to break free and even corrupt sylvaneth.

Dark Harvest is hands down one of the best Black Library books!! It also comes under Warhammer Horror and it definitely earns that title as more than once it gave me chills!!

You think this is still the case now that TOW is back ? Has the AoS train lost steam since the release of 3rd edition ?

I used to think the 4th edition starter box was gonna blow everything because if the Skaven inside, but now that GW has enraged a lot of the community with its anti consumer squatting move, I don't know.

AOS will continue to outsell TOW yes. The majority of TOW players are still using their old models hence why the O&G Boxed set is still readily available even though it contains new sculpts.

New players coming to the game are either coming from word of mouth or from Total War.

For years the TWW community was crying out for TOW to return and some of those werent even around for WHFB. I know because Im mates with some of these people, these very same people that since TOW has returned have not bought into it.

I dont want to make it about TOW vs AOS but at the end of the day TOW will always seem like a cash grab to me. I love the setting but the Mortal Realms offers me so much more, including modern sculpts, not decades old ones at modern prices.*

Me too. Maybe sometimes GW is overambitious with AoS ? Or maybe the WFB grognards are right and "nobody wants to play Age of S**tmar" ? Maybe the game isn't selling as well as we think ? I mean, for what I've seen at my local gaming club, AoS is popular, but is it popular enough to warrant releases on the scale GW has done ? Maybe not, since they're retiring some kits.

Age of Sigmar is doing far far better than WHFB ever did in terms of sales. Was it Dominion or another box that was their biggest seller for any of their Fantasy ranges?

My only gripe for an ogre refresh is that there's no way GW will keep the level of intercompatibility that exists between the kits right now. Admittedly, it has limited their posing options (which makes sense considering the game they were designed for) but I have been able to make entire units out of spare parts I've had left over and the glut (pun intended) of extra ogre bodies you end up with. I made a Tyrant out of extra bits from the Ironblaster and a unit of Ironguts from left-over Mournfang arms and some Leadbelcher bits.

I'm sure whatever GW cooks up will look better than what we've got, but I'll really miss what feels like an unmatched level of easy customization that we have now.

Or maybe we'll get dropped like BoC in 5e. Who knows :^)

The customisation of the Faction is unmatched but that also leaves us with a Faction that is also hindered by the same fact that almost all the parts are quite similar.

No single ogor model should be on anything less than a 50mm imo. That CoS warhulk is prime early example representation. Just needs a belly!!!

I really hope this is the case. Ogors need to be scaled up drastically. Something that is 8-10 Feet tall should not have a Fyreslayer come up to their shoulder in height.

The Ogor range refresh has me as excited as I was for Sons of Behemat.

In regards to Ironjawz and Kruelboyz I dont think theyll seperate the Battletome. With Bonesplitterz gone they can fully flesh out Kruelboyz who will no doubt lean more into the Monster Hunter/Trapper angle that was held by the Kruelboyz.

If anything to me this signals that there may yet be a chance for a new Destruction Faction in 5.0.

We have rumblings of a Drogrukh Faction but personally I want something that is far more different from our Big Ladz and Greenskinz.

Give. Us. Silent. People. The designers can truly go wild as of now we only have one piece of concept art and the knowledge that they are insect like in appearance. They can even have any real world influences they want as I previously posted that Feudal Japan/Samurai aesthetic would look incredible.
