  1. Awesome looking army thier mate.....I have used a gargant but only good for aesthetics really. I'm waiting for the Sons of Behemat release so I can field a mega gargant......hopefully for the points cost they should bring a lot of destruction to the table
  2. Quality advice there mate, thank you! I do have 40 gnoblars (love that 2.5" screen idea) and always wanted an excuse to field them......looks like this is the time. My area will be out of local lockdown next week so I should be taking them on next weekend....I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.
  3. Back on to Storm Ground topic again......does anybody remember the PC game Warhammer Mark of Chaos? I absolutely loved that game, the way you could choose your path as Nurgle and Khorne wanted you as thier champion in the Chaos campaign. For me if Storm Ground is anything like Mark of Chaos or its expansion Battle March I'll be happy. I do hope thiers more to it than just Stormcast and Nighthaunt but I presume more content will be added if they make enough sales
  4. Good solid advice there mate.....thank you. I'll heed your wise words.....so leadbelchers and ironblasters for slaanesh and stick with ironguts and frostlord on stonehorn for the fyreslayers πŸ‘
  5. It looks like the group I normally play against has added two new opponents that I have yet to face. One is fyreslayers and the other is slaanesh (never versed either before)......does anyone have any advice as what I may be up against and what I should be taking. Usually I play either meatfist or bloodgullet, always take a frostlord but the rest is all gutbuster units. Sometimes I'll bring hrothgorn for the deep strike. Cheers guys
  6. Crackin job their mate, love it.......the stonehorn actually looks small compared to the gargant haha
  7. Just had a crazy idea that wont happen but would be well cool.....artillery for SOB, two mancrusher gargants on a massive base, one with a sling shot of some kind (or just a rock held over his head like an Albion giant) and the other carrying some debris or loading the sling. A nice pile of rocks, maybe a dead rhinox and other ammunition that shoots 12" (18" if king brodd is nearby and inspires/threatens the mancrushers to throw further)......but like I said probably wont happen. Good idea to get some other mancrusher models out their though wink wink nudge nudge GW πŸ˜„
  8. Hope you're right mate, it's my birthday on the 4th october....... that would be perfect timing πŸ₯³πŸ»
  9. It's very interesting tactics by GW..... like Sleboda and thier tomb kings, I had a massive collection of orcs and goblins when archaon (some guy and his accountants) destroyed 8th edition and the world that was however, I decided to move along with the times and try out this 4 page rules, none mapped game with fantasy space marines wearing gold masks.......yeah at first there was lots of grumbling and wondering why all my battles where just two armies that met in the middle of a battlefield with the winner being the one who rolled best on the day, but now.......I flippin love this game! Everything I play with (all destruction armies ) seem to have a pretty good points balance IMO, all my games now are 50% tactics and 50%luck of the dice which is how I like it, I'm proper into the fluff now too......I like the idea of realm gates taking us wherever we want as it opens up much more ideas for creative gameplay and model artwork. And the best part is, going back to my old orc and goblin army, I have used loads of bits and pieces to incorporate into my ironjawz and mawtribes armies, and when new players see my army they all want to know who that massive ard boy is who's always the last to die (grimgor ironhide mate....and he gave archaon a good kickin once haha). So to conclude this ramble, I'd say GW did take a gamble but knew that the players would fix the issues for themselves.....after all this hobby is aimed at promoting creativity and that's what we do best, and look at the annual turnover for them, its gets better every year.
  10. We gotta remember that it's all about what's financially beneficial to GW at the end of the day....as boring as that sounds it is a buisness and they'll want to make as much profit as possible.....so I agree that we wont see a new sprue (it'd cost thousands to design, manufacture and box up), and GW know that we'll need aleguzzler/mancrushers as our battle line so we're gonna be buying them anyway......I think they'll encourage us to kit bash them using all the spare parts from the mega gargant kits (and I believe theres going to be loads of ways to build a mega gargant, parts we haven't even seen on the preview pics yet) I remember when the ghorgon/cygor kit came out and there where different weapons and a head for the cygor that I hadn't seen in the previews. Also I believe we're going to get more than just a single new kit.....in GHB 2020 we got our points values for everything including the lumineth realmlords and I'm sure they're due more models not listed in that booklet. As they say in a PC stragergy game I used to play......time will tell, sooner or later, time will tell (hell march song plays)
  11. Gonna be a good read that's for sure. Wonder if their deity is gorkamorka like the rest of destruction, and if so how they'll perceive him?......maybe behemat became a god and king brodd is his living vessel to the mortal realms?.....gordrakk is supposed to be the living embodiment of gorkamorka after all so anything is possible.
  12. I know mate we're all having our patience tested........just imagine what this community thread is going to be like when we do get our hands on them ( you have 325 unread messages from the grand alliance community) heh heh
  13. The annoying thing is, somewhere in a warehouse theres a mega gargant on his sprue, in a massive box, just waiting for us to build him, paint him and use him to squash teclis, slap archaon and heatbutt nagash in his nose (dose nagash have a nose πŸ€”). So if we all meet up at midnight, put our black GW t-shirts on, bring sausages so get past the dobermans and bring our "lock picking for dummies" books with us we may have a chance of getting one of these awesome models before 2021........who's with me? πŸ€ͺ
  14. My first attempt at painting a stormcast eternal. Did it for my 9 year old son who I've forced this hobby on because I need more opponents for my destruction armies 😁 Actually really enjoyed following the warhammer community tutorial and found these guys can be painted up quick and with very satisfying results. I've bought my lad the army book and had a flick through and oh boy, you guys have a lot of options......I'm not sure where to start to get him a competitive list (Those evocators seem pretty deadly). Hes got the vandus hammerhand starter set and the sacrosanct guys you get in the main AOS set. Any advice from you stormcast veterans is much appreciated
  15. I imagine our mancrushers will count as 5 or 6 models......megas probably about 12 to 15 for the purpose of holding objectives? (With such a low model count throughout the army i cant see how else they could do it) With regards to sub-factions, I'm thinking there'll be 3.....each one suiting whichever mega gargant you have as your general
  16. Deffo mate, speaking of which, now we know the points value of these big boys do we have any guesses of how there warscrolls will look? Using the one I think will have the least abilities (warstompa) I'd say we have to be looking at least 18 wounds, main weapon doing 4 attacks 3s and 3s minus 3 rend 3 damage a piece. Bravery 8? Movement 10 possibly. I'm not expecting a great armor save....prob 4+ if we're lucky
  17. Awesome idea mate! He'd look like a huge slaughtermaster πŸ˜„
  18. My plan is to do a mawtribes one with light armor and lots of gory trophies, perhaps carrying a cauldron and lots of maw shaped brands burned into his skin. (Probably use gatebreaker as a base for this one) The next one will be ironjawz themed with beaten heavy armor strapped or nailed to his body.....might have to step out of my comfort zone and make my first 40k purchase for the armor plates. (This will be the warstompa) Then I'll have two megas and I'll fill the rest of the list with battle line mancrushers. And of course if king brodd or a tribal leader is reliesed then that becomes the general.
  19. Nice one dude, a forest themed army of gargants would look awesome. I'm gonna be using one of my megas in my mawtribes and ironjawz lists as well as creating a 2000 point SOB army. Cant wait to see what's in the battletome.....wonder if we'll get any cheeky last minute new releases before it goes to pre order?.....I know we have our points in the GHB 2020 but those FAQs on warhammer community are changing all the time
  20. Completely agree there mate....I think the standard build for the aleguzzler will look dated (bit like ard boyz next to all the other ironjawz units do) but I'm guessing our bitz boxes are gonna be full with the amount of options we'll have so......let's get kit bashing! Me personally, I'm gonna build an army around the warstompa gargant (he looks like an AOS version of the marauder giant which was my favourite model when I first got into the hobby)
  21. I too would love this to be an extra sprue for the aleguzzler kit....the only thing that leads me to believe otherwise is I think that's the skull of a bestigor......and if that's the case we're probably looking at something human sized (new marauders perhaps?)
  22. Ahh well, more time to save up for those new kits I suppose (I rekon they'll do a mega bundle where you get three mega gargants). Also, have we established that mancrushers are the aleguzzler kit yet?......i mean they're in the official preview so I'm guessing so but the difference in points makes me wonderπŸ€”
  23. Seems to be a lot of aelves talk on warhammer community recently, hope we get our gargants before Tyrion and Malerion steal the show. Dose anyone think august is our release month?
  24. That would be cool.....I quite like the idea of say the gate breaker gargant trashing a piece of scenery and then hurling the rubble at the enemy (cygors might feel like someone stole their idea like 😁)
  25. Being stuck inside for a bit thought I'd dig through the old bitz box and start a project......hello steroid tyrant πŸ’ͺπŸ˜„πŸ‘Š
