  1. I keep wondering how people would feel if DOK and Malerion's Aelves were to share a battle line unit of basic Ulgu Aelves in the aesthetic of the Warcy/Underworlds unit? I think that it would be nice but then the question of soup would lie over both armies from that point forward.
  2. Gods having a petty squabble only to have their mortal followers settle it on the field of battle costing countless lives seems a little far fetched if you ask me! In unrelated news I present you with this new CoS terrain piece!
  3. I feel that much like Hysh and the Lumineth in the last edition, we will see Ulgu be the narrative bridge between editions. I feel like AOS has a primary narrative that shifts every edition between Sigmar and his enemy of the week... and then we have Aelves and Slaanesh doing their own thing in the background.
  4. Sometimes Underworlds seems like it exists just to show off the sculptors skills and for no other reason. Like oh this is what Skaven and Seraphon could look like... but we'll just give you a single hero and a tome when your book is released...
  5. I might have to buy a little goat toy (maybe schleich is the right scale) and make it a greenstuff cloak and crown and put it on a 160mm base and finally have my Archaon proxy!
  6. I personally assume that albinism is going to be a direct relationship to the warband living in the caves of realm of shadow. Also you can paint your skaven however you wish... so I think it isn't going to be the default aesthetic for skaven going forward but it might be the official look used for one of the great clans. As for the eggs clearly skaven in AOS are Monotreme... I just hope that we get a Duckbill Verminlord down the line!
  7. I am not surprised by this aestethetic if it is for Malerion's troops. Each Aelven faction has a basic troop type and then a more corrupted variant. It is a good choice on GW's part as it permits collectors to choose between traditional fantasy tropes and more unique models. Idoneth invert this somewhat with the Namarti being more abstract and the more traditional elves riding and controlling sea life.
  8. Cool looking statue head makes me think of Underworlds more elaborate bases
  9. I feel like skaven are a given but the extent and range of the release is what is in question. Lots of rumours are for an Eshin focus which is desperately needed, but overall I feel like it needs a mass range refresh! Especially because if any single side of Skaven is refreshed the parts that are not will look really dated. It isn't simple like Eldar were all the troops needed updating but the mechs and fliers looked good enough to wait. Even Seraphon can get away with updating the Saurous and resin kits and leave the skinks and monsters for the time being. But if we up date ninja rats then the other rats will look much worse in comparison... True there are some more modern models and the monsters and warmachines look great still but I feel like updating skaven doesn't really work piecemeal.
  10. And like that: I now want aquatic beastmen more than any single army expansion... except chaos halflings!
  11. Such a good channel I wish Ian covered more WHFB and AOS topics.
  12. So as GW seems to earnestly be trying to have some representation of all past factions with the return of Squats and eventual release of the Old World hopefully heralding the release of some missing factions and the lore hints of Chaos Dwarves in AOS will there be any formally fully playable factions missing? The only thing I can think of is something that would work in both Old World and AOS: DOGS OF WAR!
  13. All very good points but considering your artistic skill I imagine these new Squats being an open canvas. 😁 I think I like them because they have a retro futurist look that I think space marines and eldar both attempt and fail to capture. Of course much like KO I feel like we will really see the personality in this faction when we get to see their vehicles. I also will admit that despite my hype 40k is a bridge to far and a cost to steep even for this hobby. I want to get the new Chaos Knights so badly but for about half the cost of an army I could make 2 SW Legion armies 😐
  14. Squats are part of the mortal realms they are just KO that are using more advanced tech to invade the 41st Millennium and everyone here knows it! 😇
  15. Waltz right in and take down the Emperor is my hope! Dope new profile pic!
  16. I am absolutely thinking of making a hybrid proxy space Kharadron army with an imperial knight ironclad kitbash proxy hybrid thing.
  17. It is so weird, never has a 40k release seemed more appropriate for this forum. I really don;t think I can afford 40k but I will say that this has me hyped. I don't see the issues with people saying it is a boring design it is space suit KO... Which is really awesome although I hope they have big bubble helmets to complete the look
  18. I would sell all my Warhammer for that in an absolute heartbeat! The question would be if they mixed universes or kept it with just UC?
  19. I think Horus was a Xenos Player that wanted to end the constant release of new Marine models. But in his hubris he failed and only invented spikey marines. I think that the new Krondspine Incarnate is so awesome but will live forever as a random proxy for my games. Even if the rules are cool it is so perfectly generic as to fit into the majority of armies. I with GW would do that more often and make godbeasts and mercenaries available to all...
  20. So lots of thoughts but I have work early, so I will wrap them quickly: Necromunda: Absolutely Amazing models, cool concept and might get me to try out Necromunda if I can convince any of my friends to get this or the main starter box and then the other can grab the other boxset. Flea Riders are the best 40k army! Underworlds: Neat, I was hoping for something more directly influenced by Frankenstein. Although we got our mad scientist vampire so I am stoked BloodBowl: If I were better at converting I would have found my marauders 40K: This is literally what I have been waiting for to get into 40K but with rising prices I feel like it isn’t to be.. it is heart breaking as I literally have always wanted to make a Chaos Knight army. CSM teaser was hilarious 30K: Space Marines the game… hooray… but if I get Knights, CSM or Custodes I will try it out even if the armours ‘aren’t technically canon’ AOS: Loved the campaign book, new beast, terrain and night haunt hero! My idea for nautical NightHaunt on a frozen sea is more tempting then ever. But can I afford Chaos Knights instead? Overall I liked every single reveal! The Chaos Knights will have me going through work on a high note and their eventual cost will leave me destroyed.
  21. This seems utterly reasonable and likely therefore it will be completely and utterly off base... 😰
  22. I am so curious about the Horus Heresy release as it has seemed like the focus of every single event and then we are met by radio silence. I wonder if they are retooling the box in some way? There is a new HH article today but it still just feels so odd that when people notice a model in a Tyranid preview or we get a potato cam Kangaroo Elf they go into immediate damage control and do a press release. I don't doubt it is coming I am just curious if there is a bigger reason for the lack of official release information. Finally I wonder if these reasons are impacting any releases on our end like AOS, Underworlds, Quest or Warcry? As for my expectations for Adepticon, they are pretty low at this point. I feel this year is 40k focused with AOS mostly churning out tomes.
  23. You know what upon revisiting the image if I squint a little and rotate it slightly then I can just make out what looks like an amazing hat... I think you might be onto something. It must be hard for 40k players, we keep getting all these great rumour engines and they are stuck with nothing.
  24. That is the most hilariously 40k thing I have ever heard... thanks for the info and I am glad to have finally gotten a 40k prediction seemingly correct. 😄
  25. it is strange that having a segmented grenade styled grip makes something look inherently modern even though that could have been crafted historically. Either way I think it is 40k related and probably something Imperial Guard... but every time I make a guess about something related to 40k I am instantly corrected, because it is clearly some iconic weapon used by some unit that I should totally have heard of... oh this is clearly Inquisitor Igor Ironeye's prosthetic harpoon hand. 🧐
