  1. I’m not one to wishlist, but now that The Lumineth are being released I find myself wishing for a high elf ‘made to order’ run. I would love to get my hands on some 6th edition Phoenix guard. If made to order also does plastic then it would be really nice to get the opportunity order some of the discontinued high elf kits.
  2. That is because they are dark elf ships. This art is from the end times, when sea lord Aislinn and Lokhir Fellheart battle it out on the inner sea. it might have something to do with the Idoneth because Aislinn was seen as a champion of Mathlann. But a little weird they show this piece of art in te preview. in the piece with Morathi it seems like both forms of Morathi are there at the same time... maybe it is some kind of ritual as the monster form is bursting from an enormous cauldron of blood. You can see Morathi in her elf-form in front of the cauldron holding up something shiny...
  3. The things I love most in warhammer are elves and Slaanesh mortals. So You can imagine I’m really happy with what I saw when I just looked on warhammer community. The warcry shadow elves are cool, might get them. But then there are both Lumineth and Slaanesh mortals coming for underworlds, so excited. BUT THEN there is a new storyline evolving for AoS focusing on elves and Slaanesh! This is a good day😊 I’m really pleased with the look of the Slaanesh mortals and what can be seen of the new Lumineth warband looks great too. what a time to be alive
  4. I'm always sketching things to expand my range, so something representing the spirits of Hysh sounds like a good idea.
  5. I’m really not a fan of dumbing down the lore for a wider audience. The depth and intricacy of the lore is a big part of the appeal of te hobby for me. would be nice if the argument could be made with examples from AoS/fantasy lore though😬
  6. So while waiting for the main release to drop in September I've been working on some 3D printed terrain. Here are two elven statues I've printed and painted. Hopefully I'll be working on some actual Lumineth models in a few weeks... If you like the scenery you can get some yourself in my Etsy shop
  7. I want a nickel every time you say this😛
  8. While I think army specific upgrade sprees sounds really cool I don't think that will happen. Hobbywise this is a great opportunity to customize and convert your allied gargant to fit with your army, using leftover bits and green stuff to create you own unique gargant.
  9. well spawning pools fit with the idea of lizards crawling out of a pool where life starts. I always imagined it something similar like the life cycle of frogs. But elves magically cloning bodies... feels weird. Does this mean elven souls are put into new cloned bodies, essentially never dying. Like, you know, Stormcasts? guess I'll read all about it when the Battletome becomes available outside the starter box.
  10. I’m very pleased the battletome gives the impression the Lumineth are much more then the models available. I’m also happy some things are described pretty detailed and otherthings are kept vague. I love this part of the hobby, these snippets from the battletome inspire and challenge players to convert and create their own stories, heraldry, color schemes, etc. For me, that is what the hobby is about.
  11. Although I haven't got my hands on some Lumineth models (not interested in the big box, will wait for the next wave of releases), I've been working on my 3D printed elves obelisk on a base of floating rocks. I've tweaked the design and have been doing some test prints. If you like it, you can actually get one yourself:). I've set up an Etsy shop (Elfhead3D) because several people expressed some interest.
  12. The head is from the dark elf dragon kit. So might be a little hard to find.
  13. I also think the mistweaver saih is a good option. It has the flowing mist which could represent the smoke from the brazier on the cathaller. this is a conversion of her I did quite some time ago
  14. Does the new tome go into the whole thing about souls? How did Teclis manage to create a somewhat stable Group of elves. are there any negative consequences from the time in Slaanesh’ belly? Are the Lumineth aware their souls are from te old world? Do these souls reincarnate?
  15. So I just tried te grey seer contrast primer and I really like it. Allthough I did forget that I lost some of my green stuff gap filling during the stripping proces. But I can fix that. te primer is really smooth and it feels like I didn’t have to use a lot to get coverage. still curious about brush on primers for when using a spray is not an option, due to weather conditions or not having the space to use it.
  16. @RuneBrush I’m in it just for the hobby, so my models never hit a gaming table either. So this is something I might try out when the weather is nog good for sprays. @Kyriakin I like a light coat of primer, so white or grey. I think lighter pigment makes it harder to get a smooth coat. I like a lighter color so it is easier to keep colors bright and also I find it easier to see te detail on the mini.
  17. There is probably some mixing in there but it seems like a teal color like ‘templeguard blue’. ‘Sites green’ Is similar but darker
  18. I’m situated in the Netherlands so extreme temperature isn’t really a factor. Although with my mishap it was around 25 degrees Celsius which is not very usual here. I will try the contrast sprays next time. I think a good primer is key to a good paintjob so I don’t mind spending the extra cash. I’m still curious about a paint-on primer because you eliminate a lot of potential problems you can have with sprays. Some of the talented painters I follow in Instagram recommended it. It seems to be more time consuming (not really an issue as I don’t paint that much models) but give a very smooth coat. The ‘hold’ might be less good than sprays though.
  19. After carefully assembling 5 chaos knights from the start collecting box (loooove these models) it was time for priming. I usually use GW coral white but I ordered some stuff from an online shop that didn't have that. So this time, I used Army Painter white primer spray, and I completely MESSED UP my models. The primer was really coarse and not smooth at all. So now I have to strip the models and start over with the priming. I'm probably not the first to mess up with priming. Not only have I read mixed reviews on different brands of primer but it also seems that the weather conditions can be a big factor. So now I'm considering trying out a brush on primer. It may be a bit more time consuming, but I don't paint that many models anyway. I've read some good things about Vallejo primers that can be brushed on. the thing that is paramount for me is a thin and smooth coat of primer. What is your experience with primer? What gets you the best result. Does anyone have experience with brush-on primers?
  20. So have there been any Lore pages leaked, or just rules? also, I’m I the only one getting very frustrated with GW with their vagueness on release dates. Things always get released ‘soon’ or ‘not just yet’ and now we won’t have to wait ‘too long’😑
  21. This is an amazing piece of art. So cool to see these colors which look like classic dark elves in a Lumineth art piece. The wizard looks awesome and seems to have a 'river' rune on his staff... Looking forward to seeing this color scheme on some actual models. What I really like about the fluff is that it seems like they sorta recreated the old world lore with the fall to decadence and the civil war. But that is now in the past, so the Lumineth are, in a way, picking up the story where old world lore ended. Earlier I seem to have misremembered how eatherquartz was described in the core book. I still need some more clarity, which I hope the army book will offer. I'd like to incorporate the excessive use of eatherquartz into the lore for my Slaaneshy elves. I also read up on what 'aether' is or was in the real world. There are some interesting things that the ancient greeks thought it was. they actually thought of it as a fifth element (actually the first element). More recently scientists thought of aether as an explanation for how light moves...
  22. If it isn’t retconned, eatherquartz is a gas. So then a crystallic container makes sense. They break it and inhale.
  23. Hopefully the separate kits will come quickly after the box set.
  24. It doesn't really. But if you really want Vampire pirates to be a thing the mention of a harbor in Shyish is enough to get excited I guess:P
