  1. We always knew this though; it was why people were guessing Kislev even before TWW3 announcement. We knew the game needed to put in The Big Four, which meant Chaos Wastes, which meant Kislev. Andy also mentioned Three Kingdoms itself was a pretty big reason why GW said ok to the idea of adding Cathay. Hopefully means some multiplayer-compatible campaign packs, I would love to see smaller map areas for both solo and multi like what the game launched with. I could also see this tying to "some new races" to mean that they could make Cathayan vampires and Norse dwarves for a small price. Good. GW should make an AOS Total War before trying to rewrite expand totally-not-India and totally-not-Japan.
  2. You make a good point and I completely missed the lack of real credits. The Matt Ward situation is not at all worth discrediting your entire teams of artists and writers... it just isn't. Hide the RULES writers? Ok fine. But your brand is build on artistic creativity. Credit your !&%!#&* artists!!!!!!
  3. remember that gors come in all kinds, their God prefix is more about who they're following. Model versions are more specific but afaik the lore has always been a spectrum for gors. (if nothing else, animations fare better with less details on characters to deal with)
  4. I am extremely intrigued, the writing seems to lean towards the psychological horror of reforging. There's so much to explore there for Stormcast I really hope it is their main source of The Grimdark for the show. Fingers crossed our noble posterchildren get the screen rep they deserve 👀
  5. finally... very glad to see this finally happening after a bunch of us constantly yelling about it every chance (survey) we got!!!! Agreed, and I was pleasantly surprised that the list of trial stores was so large. I'm sorry none are close enough to you to be worth the drive, hopefully those spots were picked because they are high(er) traffic stores. the good news is when people KNOW they can help out, they usually do. so I feel safe in saying I think this program will have a great trial run.
  6. Late last article today 😮 more rules! https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/03/03/kharadron-overlords-set-endrins-to-ramming-speed-with-new-rules-for-arkanaut-frigates/
  7. I still haven't really heard the level of excitement that Mortal Empires had though--there was apparently a big petition to get CA to make IE free to anyone who bought TWW3... instead of requiring TWW1 and/or 2 to play it. The lingering issues with post-launch and IE, coupled with a perceived lack of DLC so far (even though Immortal Empires requires the effort a whole other game would) have meant the game isn't where it could be. Anecdotally, none of my friend group are seriously playing TWW3 anymore; I only came back for the big patch. Checking steamcharts it does look like the population rebounded nicely. Though it should not fall on the modders to make players feel like the game "is playable" and I know there was a huge issue with modders having to tell players to stop acting like its mods vs CA. All that being said, I think it will definitely be the best Warhammer strategy game ever once CA fleshes out Ogres, Cathay, and Kislev with DLC.
  8. ok great thank you! I mainly want that praetor prime so i'm fine with shipping if it's up to ten bucks.
  9. have to disagree as this would mean hamstringing AOS Seraphon design in order to "fit them" into WHF... Seraphon having more Old Ones magitek and sleeker armor/weapons/designs is awesome. Show us the full might of these celestial daemon-ish beasts! It doesn't have to be ridiculous, but I want to see more usage of magitek than what WHF/TWW got.
  10. on the one hand it sounds absurd, on the other Total Warhammer 3 got received very lukewarm-ly so I could see GW pushing to release TOW sooner rather than later (2024) because they can't bet on Total War keeping up the TOW hype?
  11. Underworlds this, Warcry that... let's ask the REAL QUESTION!!! would it wear gloves like this: or like this??
  12. Black Library event is up--I voted for Gothgul Hollow https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/02/22/cast-your-vote-today-to-crown-the-black-library-book-of-the-year/
  13. in theory that should make WHU the perfect board-type game for people who don't want to get into actual (tabletop) wargaming though. and it is not, because of the pricing. edit: deckbuilding can also put people off, however the Rivals format is supposed to negate that particular pain point.
  14. I could never get the hang of deckbuilding in any game, so for as much as I wanted to like WHU I couldn't buy in fully. Now that the Rivals decks are out I may try again, but on the other hand I have everything I need already for Warcry without having to buy more. @sandlemad nailed it--WHU is hit hardest by these price increases. Seems like they made the entry price Free for this event... kinda smells of trying to win back goodwill after the price increase, to the effect of having people spend that ticket $$ on merch inside the event.
  15. thematically, I'm not sure how many denizens of the Mortal Realms zombies could actually Turn. Outside of the men, aelves, and duardin there's a ton of fantasy races that I just can't see becoming zombies: coalesced or starborne seraphon wouldn't care, orruks and goblins are literal fungi, at a certain level of Chaos mutation your GIFTS should make you should be immune, everyone else in Death is off the table, Beasts of Chaos could go either way--again probably down to hierarchy/level of gifts. thematically, poisoned attacks and returning zombies when attacking 1 wound enemies makes the most sense. I agree both because of MW spam and thematics that MW on chaff zombies doesn't make much sense. Also agree with the general sentiment against MW spamming, and I'd also like to add that we've seen at least one model (hero?) already that can NEGATE wards. And since wards don't seem to be given out nearly as much as MW, if they want to throw this ability into the mix then we need to see more wards.
  16. they're spawned from pools, but these AFAIK are so sacred they should never be battlefield terrain? Perhaps a broken one is terrain for Warcry?
  17. Came back to say this!! I've always liked Lizardmen for being so easy to paint, due to the almost infinite combination of colors and patterns that real world reptiles and amphibians (and dinos) have. It is about time the fantasy analogue for them tried doing the same; it will not only make it easier to distinguish skink handlers from your regular skinks, it will also expand the possibilities of a flagship Warhammer faction. I collected a few pictures to see all of the different skinks near each other, the variety does feel better. Maybe we'll get a closed fin alternate head for the salamander, but if not, they're growing on me anyway.
  18. I really don't get it either, it could be an indication these beasties are semi-aquatic? But scientist brain aside, I love the vibe. (worst comes to worst you could probably cut these off?)
  19. WAIT I MISSED THIS PART THE FIRST TIME: LASER POINTERS????????? "When a skink handler marks a foe with a dot of ruby-tinted light, the Spawn of Chotec hawks a viscous Glob of Flame Acid at the target. The ensuing splatter not only ignites immediately, it’s caustic enough to leave victims vulnerable to further attacks." All my cat does is bat at the laser pointer... these guys shoot ACID.
  20. A nice touch for explaining why these skinks look different lol. I'll take it! Makes sense that skink handlers are marked differently than the general population's parallel head fins. "The Sun Acolytes who handle these sour-tempered salamanders are marked for their duty from birth. When the stars flare and the spawning pools boil, the skinks who emerge are blessed with incredible resistance to heat, as well as frills that resemble Chotec’s own sunburst. " Seems they went with an IP kit name but are still calling the actual critters salamanders which is GOOD. I appreciate the nod to salamanders with the head frills. I LOVE that it looks like a dimetradon overall though. edit: they're gills. I forgot the word for gills.
  21. no date for chorfs, trailer itself was celebrating their 'full' release of Immortal Empires to people who don't own the first 2 games. IE itself is still in beta since the work going into it is legitimately a second game's worth... DLC is slated for April, and they mention something about update 3.0 which wasn't clear if that is ALSO for April or not.
  22. honestly I was hoping for Lord packs before any new factions... Cathay and Kislev both could use some gap-filling in their roster. We STILL don't have the prologue Kossar Spears in the main Kislev list ffs. thank you so much for this!! I did actually look into their financial report a bit, looking for something like this. I obviously did not find it in the ~30min I took to skim it x)
  23. not so sure although they really, really, really need to do something like this... they will destroy old/unsold products and I just can't wrap my head around why you wouldn't try reusing as much of that wasted plastic as possible. hell, let us return extra (empty) sprues to stores to recoup even more materials...
