  1. After near 4 months, finally I completely finished the whole araknarok!! What a nightmare to build and paint, the most difficult project I’ve encountered so far (or at least the most tedious one). Sorry if there’s too many photos, but I can’t hold the excitement lol

  2. Im sad to inform you that Tamurkhan and the rest of models from his army were retired from the product line a few months ago (I was also thinking about making and army centered around him).  Such a shame...

  3. I also have failed the contract, as I was not able to finish the araknarok crew (but at least did the loonshrine!). To make the things worse, I got sidetracked by the gloomspite endless spells, which I will try to end this month.

My objective for this month is to paint:

    -Araknarok castle and crew

    -Gloomspite endless spells

    -Bonus: 5 spider riders

    -Bonus: some stabbas

Hi all. I've been able to complete my pledge successfully, to my relief 😅

Further more, It's the first time I have added some rust effects on some metals (subtle, still) and I've been improving my gradient skills, with (i think) good results on reds, nice results on greens, and mixed results on blue. I don't do heavy gradients yet, tho. Still improving. Now the photos.

I've liked a lot painting the thorns, as i have already painted 20 chainrasps, I got the trick of it. Added rust effects to the blades, and nice gradients on the reddish parts:

With that practice, I went on to further work on the reddish gradients on the tomb banshee. Also, first time using Green Fluorescent paint (Vallejo) for some effects on the eyes. I'm quite happy with the outcome:

Enough red. Next, for a total change of theme, I painted the Knight Questor, giving him extra care. First time adding some freehand details. I'm very happy with all of it. But, yeah, I've given this guy around 8 hours of my life....

And last but not least, I painted all three vampires of the diorama, which I call "my RGB vampires". Very happy with all, as well. The blue one gave me some problems on the highlights in blue, because I went with turquoise, but got it more or less sorted with a glaze, and learnt a lot in the process, about gradients, 3d prints, magnets (I magnetized all the vampires and the cauldron), creepy eyes...

The Treelord is still wip and the banshees for the mortis engine are finished too, but I won't post the photos again because it looks more or less the same as last month's without them :D

Also, my 10 year old kid wants you all to know that he has painted a kurnoth hunter (only small fine detail corrections from me)

Very satisfied!! On to next month!

Your paint work is pretty neat! But as a matter of constructive criticism, I think that you really should put a bit more of effort into the bases. Just by painting the  sand and the stone with a base and a couple of layers of drybrush can make the model pop (and my opinion is that the base should’t be overlooked, as it poses near half of the miniature)

  5. I was a bit worried too, seeing that nobody opened a new monthly threat, I also hope that everybody is doing alright...

My plan for the next project was to finish the loonshrine, but got sidetracked (again!) by another model, this time an Arachnarok, which I’ve been painting for three weeks by now. Let’s see if I can end with it this month (is frikin huge!)  and finally fulfill  my promise of painting the shrine.

  6. @Sttufe are you painting directly over the plastic? Some kind of imprimation is suggested before applying any other color. In the case of kharadron, you could prime it in leadbelcher or balthasar gold (but there are other options, lately I,ve been priming my minis with browns and greys). As for metallics, the citadel ones are known for being better than the other alternatives. In an army with so much metal, I would recommend them.

Finally, the sky-wardens are done. Pictures coming soon, once the paint dries, on the other hand OH MY GOD MY ENDRINMASTER AHHHHHHHHHHHH The wonders of super glue are truly a sight to behold We must resort to the last option: EPOXY. Thanks for listening to that update.

I am going to be doing some basing, and for that I need to paint sand. Is this a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?  This is my plan as of now, might add this to goals.  Edit: Basing looks good woohoo. First time basing a miniature, first time super gluing a mini, and soon I can decorate his base.

So i kinda suck at painting, escpecially to the pictures shown above by @Fellman and @Skreech Verminking, but for those who wish to see you are welcome to see. In the middle of getting them based, re-flight-standing my endrinmaster (I had to scrap half the back thruster piece :( ) but they are getting there. The gunhauler is a WIP, as in I barely even have begun, but I will get around to it. And then I also think I might leave em plain, scatter some larger rocks among the bases, but leave it sand, because I really like the look of them right now.

Put them some Agrax Earthshade and they will improve a lot!

  8. Last month I finished 3 crypt horrors, a Haunter and a Ghoul King on terrorgheist, also advanced a bit with some spiders and the loonshrine (and got a sidetracked by some kill team orks and star wars battle droids).

    So, this month:

-Finish 5 spider riders and scuttleboss

    -Finish Loonshrine

    -Begin with the Grymwatch

That’s it, cause this month I will have very little time and surely will get more sidetracked by Legion!
