So @Kramer, @flamingwalnut, @Kamose, @Maxi99 want to join this Tale of X Warlords? I suggest 1st June start and we have our own thread?

Anyone else is welcome to join- I guess it's a way for us to spam our progress pics for feedback without cloggin up this main thread. I'd still plan to post to this thread with my other 43 painting projects. We can have some general goals to help motivation. Anyone else interested or have feedback?

I would love to join in on this, I have a few WIP things I would share.

The hunt for Hashut’s Breath is a tireless young one, it is nearly impossible to find. So who better to sniff out this precious gift than one whose life truly depends on it?

    -unknown Aether-Prophet of Barak Zhar-Ramad....

finally finished the aether khemist conversion! He’s a bit simple paint wise compared  to Feraq, but his armour is a bit more intricate so it’sEBD9C4DE-B84B-4741-B5CC-71E6080800AB.jpeg.5fe5aacbec2d25a1d8e20aed582d4b69.jpeg

balances out. Up next are the finished arkanauts and a gunhauler!

Very nicely done, I love this one! The arkanauts look very interesting as well.

I have to thank you again for that advice.

I noticed that the cheapest way (moneywise) to field an Ironclad is to buy the Aetherwar box, resell the Tzeentch stuff and buy an Ironclad.
When i would buy the start collecting box i would be in need of a second battleline unit, because either the Gunhauler or the Thunderers would be battleline. But not both at the same time.

So i ordered the Aetherwar box and will add an Ironclad soon.

My first 1000p list would look something like this:

    1000p Kharadron Overlords

    Skyport: non

    Artycle: settle the grudge

Amendment: always take what you are owed

Footnote: there is no trading with some people

220p Endrinmaster in Dirigible Suit (General, Grudgebearer, Phosphorite Bomblets)

    100p Endrinriggers

    100p Endrinriggers

    510p Ironclad (last word)

Will it be good? I don't know.

Will it be a ton of fun to shoot-shoot-shoot my enemy. Definitly!

Now i will have to choose a color sceme. I guess i like Baral-Thryng. Have never seen anybody use that one before. Why is that?

Thryng is based on taking a lot of other dwarf allies, and a more traditional type of foot slogging playstyle, and so most KO players don't use it too often. My problem with that is bodies. On objectives you are going to have to kill, kill, kill. There is really no way you can contest objectives with so few bodies. I would say you might want to swap out a unit of riggers for some arknauts. Really there isn't a good way you are going to get all the units you want in a small number of boxes, so I would say that getting some arkanauts would be useful.

A good amount of dwarves DID make it to Azyr. In fact, that is why they are called the Dispossessed: they gave up their holds and homes for the lives of their clan and kin. They fled, they are refugees, and for 500 years they planned. Some cool tidbits in the Cities of Sigmar book. Whoever stayed behind either died, turned to Chaos, or found new ways to survive like the Fyreslayers or the Kharadron Overlords.

I do LOVE the idea of half-dwarves/half-elves. It fits so well into the more metropolitan idea of AoS. There isn't nearly as much bitterness and alienation between the races because they are all much more united in a cause and all suffered at the hands of Chaos. Whether they can interbreed and whether they ever WILL by GW, who knows. But at the very least, I am always up for interesting stories of love and life between "unlikely pairs" like duardin and aelves. Very much a great odd couple dynamic.

Could be an interesting idea, have the Lumineth and the Fyreslayers, one rage and passion, and the other cool and distanced, all working together in a single coordinated army. Although you wouldn't have that much shooting, nor flying at all, it could be an interesting list idea.

Almost done with my finals, and then I will start working on the big temple and scenery. By the way, does anyone know how to change the title of a thread?

Anyways, planning on redoing the Saphery waystone and making it more like my most recent one. I think it turned out the best, and I reworked the symbol so it wouldn’t be mirrored, and has the proper depth. I think that using cardboard/ boxes really is the best way to do this, and the edge work with baking soda and super glue is vital... and I won’t put a whole bloody teaspoon of baking soda in my sealent mixture this bloody time.

You just click and hold on the title and it turns into a text box. Very nice, I like the pillars, how do you get such clean designs? I might try my hand at something similar but more dwarf themed.

    Hello fellow Admirals,

i am thinking of starting my own fleet and it as to include the ironclad. Just love this model!

I take part in a CTL tournament at my local Warhammer store (1500p, 48x48 boards), so i want to build a competitive 1500p army. Maybe 1000p for the start.

I just bought the battletome. My buying list would be:

    1x Arcanaut Company

    1x start collecting

    1x Ironclad

So i will have a 1000p list for 210€, which is quite cheap i guess.

The upgrade to 1500p would be another start collecting and the Thundrik Profiteers. And maybe an Endrinmaster in his fancy suit.

so what do you think? Is this a good starting point? Any tipps? Suggestions?

SO if you buy the Fancy Endrinmaster you get another 6 skyriggers, which is nice, I would say that looks like a good evolution, you might want to buy another set of thunderers so you can do different loadouts for your ironclad's troops. Other than that looks great.

What's up sky dwarfs? How's the Volleygun working out for all you Ironclad users?  I see a lot of talk about the cannons but no love for the Volleygun.

I think I am going to build out my ironclad with a volleygun, it seems like a decent option and I just kinda want to see how it does.

What are you talking about? in the past year we've gotten two(!) new plastic chaos dwarfs, granted their both part of a unit and not standalone models but it counts!

Hold up which ones? Are they on FW, I thought that they only did resin sculpts. Oh wait they are the ones from the warcry sets right? I want to see the army in plastic, that is the point at which I will buy into Hashut's greed.

Nice thinking here on duardin armies viewing armies bringing a rampage of new Endless Spells :D :

    "Marc Espresate,
    Replying to
One thing I'll enjoy about picking Kharadrons, is that every new released army will be an update for us, courtesy of our neighbour, the Aether-Chemist and his spells in a bottle."

So sad we can only really bring one without investing too much.

Yeah, it's quite obvious now that CA and GW are redesigning Kislev together for Warhammer TW 3 and to have something in that world for these new players to play.

Pessimist me would say that they need it because they'll kill off Cities in a few years.

I didn't see any cities army with bears, so I dunno how I will feel

Sorry I'm late, but can we agree that Female Fyreslayers are some scary girls? I'd love some models of them.

I definitely agree, if they did that we might even be able to get faction expansions for them. Or who knows, maybe the mythical and rare Chaos Dwarfs may make an appearance in plastic. Not that any of this is likely at all.

Noone knows. Sometime after the Lumineth, so if they drop say late May-June I wouldnt expect the Sons till July-August.

the quarantine must have pushed the hard if they revealed them so long before they were released.

I am waiting patiently and NOT buying 2 more Bloodthirsters to make a 5 Thirster army yet.  If Khorne can take a MegaGargant, then Khorne shall have one!  With all kinds of brass armor and blades all over the place.

Or you can buy 2 Bloodthirsters and a Mega Gargant 😉
