  1. I just thought of something. If I had say 2 gunhaulers, right next to each other, and a company in front, then could I put them in both at the same time? And then combined with that, could I deploy half of them one round, and then have the others join them the next? I have a feeling the answer is a no, and I am not planning on doing this, but I just wanted to know. Edit: Confusing/dumb question, don't do it.
  2. Finally, the sky-wardens are done. Pictures coming soon, once the paint dries, on the other hand OH MY GOD MY ENDRINMASTER AHHHHHHHHHHHH The wonders of super glue are truly a sight to behold We must resort to the last option: EPOXY. Thanks for listening to that update. I am going to be doing some basing, and for that I need to paint sand. Is this a Good Thing or a Bad Thing? This is my plan as of now, might add this to goals. Edit: Basing looks good woohoo. First time basing a miniature, first time super gluing a mini, and soon I can decorate his base. So i kinda suck at painting, escpecially to the pictures shown above by @Fellman and @Skreech Verminking, but for those who wish to see you are welcome to see. In the middle of getting them based, re-flight-standing my endrinmaster (I had to scrap half the back thruster piece ) but they are getting there. The gunhauler is a WIP, as in I barely even have begun, but I will get around to it. And then I also think I might leave em plain, scatter some larger rocks among the bases, but leave it sand, because I really like the look of them right now.
  3. definitely add a start collecting box. 2 Gunhaulers never hurts, another hero is a great addition, and the thunderers would really be a great addition. Build out it's sky-riggers as wardens and you ave a pretty solid base of units to build an army on. On top of that getting the navigator or the khemist is very useful, and probably another company or 2, and you would be set for most lists.
  4. Yeah, I kind of agree, I guess I feel more like a collector than a competitive player, I want a big, cool, super-diverse army. Kharadron Overlords have already got one THE most creative and interesting model design, but I am human, and I will always want more. I would love to see custom warscroll type stuff with some more divergent type Baraks.
  5. I am very confused about something I was noting. The KO faction seem to be a very popular faction, rivaling the cities of sigmar in terms of how many people are talking about them in this forum. However they also have the LOWEST range of models of the order models. This seems strange and also applies for the Sylvaneth. This seems especially sad when taken in light of the fact that we finally got a battletome, but no models or even terrain to go with it. Great faction, but still. Ah well, on another note, having problems with my endrinmasters stand, broke once and I can't get him to do the whole standing up thing, any advice?
  6. wait I am hearing a lot of stuff about booze and such, perhaps an artillery unit that just has the worlds largest molotov cocktail in existence?
  7. Eldar plus some DoK peeps, specifically their ship, bang badda boom, slap on a couple cannons, we sailing the blood seas me hearties.
  8. Yeah 1 appeals to me more because I like moar ships, it's a very stable list, although the death star could be fun situationally, smash their army where it hurts most. Keyword is situational.
  9. And also if your trying to take care of a hoard (as in not a shell and more carbines/shrapnel), then you could take along the 3 gyrocopters to destroy them, as it's only 1 damage. If it's a hero, then just shoot it with a shell, not shrapnel, and for the carbines I don't suppose there is much you can do. Plus a group of thunderers wouldn't get affected, if they were fully kitted out with rifles, or even take the fumigator as that is also a 1 hit damage.
  10. no. I dunno, it could be Slaaneshi, however it could be just another cauldron for some faction, as that's an ongoing theme. Maybe give ANOTHER one to the DoK.
  11. ah man, I lucked out. Trying to convince a friend to get an army, and he was 50/50 for Gloomspite or Seraphon. So glad he went with gloomspite gitz *nervously looks over shoulder at colossal squig*. Speaking of that, are they gonna crush my army, or do I have a chance against them? Edit: On a sidenote, does anyone here have any experience in converting a model with an endrin harness? My plan is to give the sky warden from thundriks set the endrinmaster hammer, but the whole extra arm thing is giving me trouble. Currently it's in the planning phase, but I want to keep the strength enhancer things, but that means I have to A) use greenstuff/something else to give the skywarden chest some attachments (mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) or B) give the endrinmasters chest an aether endrin. I figure the endrinmaster chest with aether endrin will be better/easier, specifically because of those special helper attachment pieces. There might be some other pieces, but I am not sure how to attach them and those are gonna be interesting. The purpose is to make a skywarden hero (High Custodian)or some such thing. Should be cool, but I need to get the pieces.
  12. I pledge to paint a gunhauler, fix my dirigible endrinmaster's stand and paint him, and finish up the last 2 of my skywardens.
  13. It looks fairly solid, though the unit of 3 riggers might be a bit underwhelming, especially since your gonna have them probably split up the riggers and the londrinmaster for either of the ship, cuz either the thunderers or the ArkCo might get stranded. The gyros will definitely take out hordes, but that frigate needs some support that I don't see, especially if your opponent focuses on it, as the riggers and the company might keep it alive, but then the ironclad is left out a bit, especially if your enemy has got any long range shooting. I dunno, you will kind of have to playtest it because everyone plays differently.
  14. I love this guy, is he going to become a long term project like the midnight city stuff?
  15. The squats are great addition to the army, as always the painting is absolutely spectacular! I am in awe. How do you even do this with conversions and such, it seems impossible. I can't wait to see what goes in next! P.S. I love the war machines, you make these things almost come to life before your eyes!
  16. but it would be the absolute best distraction carnifex there ever was. Obviously it was just a distraction for my real plan! Which is something. I think. Imagine if Gotrek survived, then there would be problems, and if the rest do survive, then somebody's about to be screwed. Ah, I haven't looked at the Fyreslayers cuz I have barely begun on KO, so I didn't look at him. Could be cool, but what if you put the Magmadroth inside the ironclad? Let shenanigans ensue. Same with putting a bomber, or a steam tank. (are steam tanks Duardin? I can't check because warscrolls aren't loading.)
  17. So I had an idea right, the main problem with Thryng (as I see it) is that the units you take along are used as a screen and that's about it. They just don't have the mobility to keep up with the rest of your army, which is a problem since that's kinda one of our main focuses. this led to a epiphany, which went about this way: "woah, what if you just said that any duardin units had the marine keyword? Wait, isn't Gotrek a Duardin? Nevermind I guess". Of course Gotrek and the ramming Ironclad of doom with 10 thunderers, an admiral, and a dirigible endrinmaster would be great, and the mounting horror on your opponents face as he realizes that if anything even gets near that ironclad it dies, combined with it's mobility, would make this amazing. Unfortunately, for the same reasons this would be a true wonder, it will never come to pass 😞.
  18. so quick question, what are some good endless spells for a khemists spell in a bottle? Specifically for a Zon army.
  19. And I mean if you want some other cool models (because who doesn't want more squats) you can get the start collecting greywater fastness set and get some nice dorfs. Only one is a sky dorf, but they are still your scandinavian physicists (thx @Garamond).
  20. The list I am going for right now, is as follows So in total I need ideas for the endless spell. The plan is to play aggressively and use the sky wardens to exploit weak points, the arkanauts and their frigates to back them up and sit on points, and the riggers to keep ships secure. Riggers go with the drill cannon gunhauler, and the wardens on the other, with thunderers squeezing in. On a side note I assigned both endrinworks to the gunhaulers because the frigate one sucked, is there any that are ok? I might experiment to fit in a navigator. In terms of what I have, I have look at KO in theory a long time, however never played, so I have the Aether war set and a company
  21. Seriously, what is it with arctic names for kharadron overlords? So far I have the Arctic Company, with it's which is going to be accompanied by the Arctic Frigate. Is this a popular theme? Anyway I finished painting a company and am working on 6 sky wardens (2 of which are painted). The custodian of this band of sky wardens: his skyhook duardin: and the company: Also don't question the skypike arkanaut. He is left handed and it's rude to judge. Also I love your color scheme @Garamond, I only realized after painting the first sky warden that my colors were similar to the US colors. They are very patriotic.
  22. I am pretty sure that's a no, although I would have to look closer. It says that you can fly high and disembark during a normal move, but I don't think you can also embark in the same turn. You could instead, going with the Iron Sky Attack battalion, just deploy the ArkCo inside the frigate, avoiding the need for an embark action, allowing you to use charge and disembark to get right in the enemies faces, but it would be an opportunity one-off attack, and you can't disembark your ArkCo because I believe they can only do it once.Good for an alpha strike, but not too much else. Also in terms of having a hero and an ArkCo in a frigate, isn't it a max of 15, with fly high/disengage being 11? And if this is the case just take 10 ArkCo and your hero, and you can still get the benefit of having the fly high with both, and not having to deal with weird under strength unit rules.
  23. Probably not, it does say specifically on the warscroll that you can't "use any spells or abilities on this model that would allow you to set it up again after the battle has begun". Now this might not include as technically it's not set up, it's inside the ship, but still, I don't see it happening. On the how would that help? He would be the ultimate gunhauler deepstrike, supported by a frigate or two, and he would simply wreak havoc on enemy lines. Honestly, you don't even have to buff him, just drop him and use him as a distraction carnifex or just let him maul the lines, it doesn't matter which, he would just be a great alpha strike. (Oh god the havoc of an endrinmaster and an admiral and gotrek all hitting at the time.)
  24. Oh man, what if you had an entire army right, 2k points and the whole thing, but you made it all flying units. If you give balloons to heroes with the functionality of the thermal rider cloak, and then you could have a really cool flying only army, with the Aether War flying rules set, and then potentially if you were really into it, go so far as to convert some Thunderers with balloons. Just imagining, but it would be super cool to have an entire 2k list that's flying around. Although, there is the point of no one being able to fit inside ships cuz none of them have the marine keyword if they can fly. Edit: I totally realized that if it were flying only army using the Aether War no land rules then technically it wouldn't matter about the marine thing since those that can fit inside your ship would be inside the ship the whole time as they cannot fly.
