AoS 2 - Stormcast Eternals Discussion
PrimeElectrid replied to Chris Tomlin's topic in Stormcast Eternals
3+ save liberators was a pre-FAQ rumour, fwiw I think they will stay at 4+ ignore rend 1. -
Well I’ve gone back as far as the Sons of Behemat release and rules previews are always after the preorder announcement, even for dual boxes. This leads me to believe that pre order will be announced this weekend or next.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/27/the-realms-arent-ready-for-the-orruk-warclans-battletomes-dirty-tricks-and-stinky-monsters/ Rules preview so soon! This is much earlier than I expected. Could this mean the battletomes are coming earlier in august rather than later?

A 3+ save boosted twice is a 2+ save vs rend 1, and a 3+ save boosted thrice is a 2+ save vs rend 2. That’s not a “waste”; that’s making your cheapish battleline unit functionally immortal against a significant number of hammer units out there. Yeah they are weak to mortal wounds, but a) what isn’t and b) they aren’t ganking your key hero so whatever. Moreover you aren’t necessarily wasting resources when one of those +1 save modifiers could be as simple as standing on terrain. At a mere 15 points more than Liberators in the new book (assuming no other changes), Vindictors may well be the default battleline choice. Vanquishers may find a niche as a Lord Imperatant delivered Scions hammer out of battleline, but they will need high rend or mortal wounds output to do this (for the same reasons as above). If you don’t have at least rend 2 or reliable MWs then you don’t cut it as a hammer right now. -

Also the linked story about the poor lady on maternity leave is much worse. Together these two stories, though they may be anecdotes, paint a picture of a dysfunctional middle management. Frankly we should be amazed that we get anything out of this company if this is the shambolic way that they manage their staff. But at least they aren’t Blizzard I guess. -
Lmfao of course the Fun Police hated Thor Ragnorok, the most popular and successful of the Thor movies 😂 I’ve literally encountered one person on the whole internet that hates that movie and now I’m convinced they’re the same person.

That’s one toxic work environment. Fault lies entirely with the line manager. -
But don’t you know these dragons look anthropomorphic?!
-
Could mean the post-release errata is coming. Nothing on the other languages yet (which is what usually happens when something has gone screwy).
-
What if I told you that you could do this anyway
-
Because dragons aren’t actually real
-
The blurb is interesting as the first one is part of the formal alliance with Sigmar but the second one suggests he’s off on his own. I wonder if he’ll be an ally for any order army?
-
No preview next week, but both sisters and necromunda up for preorder. Does this clear the decks for SCE abs owt the week after or do we expect other releases? It’s usually alternating 40k/aos/specialist games isn’t it?

Moar rumours: The new SCE monster isn’t a mounted character; the monster itself *is* the character. Base 3+ save, 16+ wounds, “pretty mental statwise”, good damage profile, monstrous wounds, model sniping. via discord -

So consequences of this change on the rest of the book: * Liberators and Sequitors streamlined weapon options, assume must be 3/3/-1/1. This also aligns to the Vindictors. Probably explains the big price increase in the new book. * I imagine Stormsmite Greatmaces will stay as is (as they are distinguished from the base weapon by damage 2), but guess Grandblades and Grandhammers will be adjusted to the same 3/3/-1/2 profile. This is a huge buff for Liberators, although I think Vindictors with their base 3+ (vs 4+ ignore rend 1) are still superior. If Sequitors had this profile in 2.0 they would be monstrous, but rend 1 just doesn’t cut it in 3.0. * Prosecutors use the same special weapons as Liberators so it follows that these will get an update too. If the baseline SCE melee weapon is becoming 3/3/-1/1 then units with Celestial Hammers become attractive, as they have the mobility to jump onto something vulnerable where their rend will actually matter. * Given that we’ve seen Annihilators and Praetors using that 3/3/-1 stat line I’m guessing that Paladins will be updated to the same with 3 attacks each, distinguished further by special rules or increased damage. * I don’t expect any changes to Evocators but it would be hilarious if they do. * I’m more and more confident about judicators going to 2 attacks each * On a related note I’m 95% confident that all Hero D3 damage weapons will change to flat 2. -

RUMOURS, GET YOUR RUMOURS Looks like the repackaged boxes have the new profiles (but not warscrolls). Vanguard hunters have rend. Edit: This suggests drastic profile changes across the range. Hard to see how liberators aren’t going to 3/3-1 based on this. Surely this means further buffs to Paladins and Evocators too? -

> not post or display rules or stats copied from from any official Games Workshop material top kek So can we assume that GW have initiated an IP infringement suit against Facehammer for splurging the entire contents of the GHB21 on their live stream? 🤔 -

Has to be Evocators for the MW output. Rend 1 (which all other combat unit utilise) is utter garbage. That being said the utility is less in TPing a combat unit and more in getting stuff around the board for objectives and putting pressure on your opponent who has to keep it in mind. -

Hot take: translocation is CRAZY good right now, cash in while you can! -
Those are good reasons. The idea that someone should have the foresight to know that a company will reverse a sound business deicsion years in the future is not.
