  1. That’s quite clearly a lot of judgement. You know it’s possible to disagree with someone without calling them a WAAC rules lawyering power gamer, right? @PJetski is the only person who doesn’t come across as a ****** here.
  2. Beast master. Your wizards are fragile foot heroes that will get sniped out, and 5 Evocators that will probably be in the thick of things. On the other hand the Templar is the toughest thing on the table and if he dies well it’s probably a loss anyway. Could also try dominating presence.
  3. We can probably make some informed guesses based on other warscrolls. Move 12” minimum, move 14” more likely, and possibly as high as move 16”. 6 or 7 wounds as they are on much bigger bases than Dracothian Guard which GW weirdly use to set wounds. Looks like a chariot base to me, most of which are 6 with a few 7s. Could be as many as the allopex on 8. Save 3+ (Thunderstrike armour + shield) but I doubt they will have any -rend (only old cast have this so far) and rr anything is being removed. SCE basic weapon profile seems to be 3/3/-1 based on the new vanguard scroll, so I’d guess they would have 3/3/-1/2 swords to keep them in line with Praetors and Annihilators. Lances are always increased damage or rend or both on the charge for fewer attacks. Interestingly GW are harmonising weapon profiles so we may see no difference (blood knights), minimal differences (reach) or two whole profiles. There’s a rumour going around that Dracothian guard will get +1 attack so I will guess at least 4 attacks each to match. The article gives no hints about the dragons in combat but we can only assume that they will be at least as good as Dracoths, if not better, with some kind of shooting attack. Probably not exactly the same as GW tends to associate unique abilities with particular models to create identity. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the mounts will be big damage, rend 2 damage 2, as they look like big scary monsters. Probably not a bite as their jaws are too small. Maybe a star drake type tail attack. Most dragons have 6 or 7 attacks with their claws at top profile so I will guess 5 as these are babies. Summarising: Move 14”, wounds 7, 3+ save 4 attacks 3/3/-1/2, maybe mortals (swords) or more rend/damage (lances) Mounts 5 attacks 3/3/-2/2 Dragon shooting attack (unknown) At least one special rule with an “in addition” (unknown) Monster keyword 500 points Edit; oh, actual dragons always get a bite attack too, so add that in. 1 or 2 attacks, 3/3/-1/d6 (or d3 as they are babies). Probably nudge the points closer to 400. Actual dragons are around 300 points usually (unless they are vordrai) and 500 points is stardrake territory. These are smaller than actual dragons so logically cheaper per model (but more for the unit). Say 225 for one or 450 for the unit, take off 10-20 to keep them out of stardrake price. 420?
  4. Yikes 😬 400 points? Like for higher, confused face for lower.
  5. It’s almost like Warhammer is produced by a commercial company with finite resources, and some factions are deliberately kept fresh as some kind of marketing, while others have niche appeal and so see less investment 🤔
  6. Those windmills won’t tilt themselves
  7. There’s every reason to think these guys will be busted. Fly, expected 3+ save, minimum 5 wounds (so count as double for objectives), probably a 12” move, all great in this edition. As battleline they can be reinforced twice and you don’t have to take liberators. In addition, GW base rules around model visuals. Oh, this looks like it does xyz so we’ll give it some special ability. This is where sin writing usually creeps in. These models look fantastic so will probably get some good rules to go with them. But even if they don’t, the above rules are already pretty good. Then consider that they might have the monster keyword and oh boy probably like 300-400 points though.
  8. It says in the article that the Knight built out of the kit does
  9. Battleline flying monster cavalry. Sin guy you legend ❤️
  10. I don’t know what want from me. I have no influence at GW, but I can tell you more aelves are definitely coming. There’s no other resolution to this discussion as the other poster decided they hate aelves and will quit if more come, and I can’t stop more aelves. So what do you want me to do to further this discussion? This goes towards everyone actually. Maybe I too agree other armies should have more models or range refresh. Maybe I too think GW should create new things. Regardless of any of that, new aelves are still coming eventually. It’s as inevitable as new Stormcast every edition. I don’t see what whining about it constantly achieves or why people want to live in denial and whine about it later. Edited as it was a different poster
  11. Bye then. Because these things are happening and were decided by GW about 4 years ago. Complaining about it now isn’t going to force them to change direction.
  12. You people who hate aelves need to get on board with this. It has all been telegraphed in the fluff for years. There’s going to be another Lumineth wave. There’s going to be at least one malerion release. There will probably be kurnothi. We may well see another Idoneth release. The sooner you learn to be at peace with it the better. Nothing worse than seeing people moan about aelves each time they get something else when it’s been clear for so long that, yes, there’s more coming.
  13. Tyrion is coming 💯 The first LRL book talked more about him than it did Teclis. That being said I don’t expect him until 2023. 2022 will be Malerion I think. I’d guess which books are being redone first based on age, and if they have endless spells or a terrain piece.
  14. Well, my optimism was misplaced. Back to my cynical guess that preorders start last week in August so that GW can still claim “available to order in August!” while actually releasing in September. RIP
  15. “Kill everything else lol” is this editions “just shoot the heroes lol”. Anyway the issue is that rend 2 or higher is a) extremely rare b) pricey and c) both. Meanwhile those units that best abuse 3+ save are also packing ward saves in their profile, or just take a common artefact wtf GW for a 5++. Throwing 20 MW a turn at a 15 wound monster hero is just not something a lot of armies can do.
  16. I’m fortunate enough that my gaming group has no Dave’s so we don’t have to worry about his OP bonuses.
  17. No. Check SCE faq. If it’s not there it’s in the core book faq which is no longer available to download
  18. For what it’s worth my money is on August 7th preorder. In the past GW have never published faction & allegiance rule previews until after something has already had the preorder announcement (not the preorder itself). This itself suggests the release is imminent. I don’t follow 40k closely but as far as I can tell we haven’t seen similar rules articles for Thousand Sons or Grey Knights yet (only the sorcerer, not faction/allegiance stuff or whatever the 40k equivalent is). On the other hand, they have been pushing Kill Team hard in the last week. They may slip this in between this weeks AoS terrain and the new battletomes the following week. That being said, Stormcast and Kruleboyz previews were before the Kill Team one, which suggests that they come first in the running order. If the AoS preorder is next weekend this also leaves one more new miniature Monday slot for SCE dragon cavalry before preorders start. Whitefang has hinted at this heavily but I don’t think we’ve had any rumours of further Kruleboyz releases. If it’s not next weekend then the week after 💯
  19. You’re almost there. 1) GW know some armies need help. 2) GW take the time to produce rules to help. Given WD lead in times they have probably already written them! 3) GW now make you wait an arbitrary amount of time simply so they have something to put in a magazine each month. They could publish this information digitally right now if they genuinely wanted to help factions. That would be a stop gap. But then what would they fill WD with? For the record, this isn’t an argument against rules in WD. I don’t like that because I’m not convinced it gets even the insufficient review and play testing they battletomes get, but whatever. The issue is that this is the equivalent of releasing one balance patch per army per month simply because they prioritise content of a physical magazine (a physical magazine! in 2021!) over the integrity of their game. Imagine if GW put the AoS 3.0 FAQ in White Dwarf and released one a month. Would that be acceptable because it’s a stop gap measure that you get eventually and someone will transcribe them from WD?
  20. Not the same. This is being explicitly marketed as support for armies to help them in third.
  21. That’s not the point. The point is that GW thinks that some armies need help in this edition. They could help those factions right now. Instead they choose to make you wait in order to pad out their archaic publicity magazine.
  22. That’s even worse. GW recognise some factions need help in 3.0 but they are going to address this through paid updates one month at a time. Imagine your faction is 6 on the list. Let’s be generous and assume the other 5 ahead of you need more help. You still have to wait 6 months to get that help. And pay for the pleasure! Now imagine you are 12th on the list. That’s a year into the edition. And that’s assuming Gw are going in a priority order and not the ones that they like or catch their fancy. Meanwhile thanks to digitisation GW could make this immediately available. They could even charge for it if they like. That would be bad but at least it would address these supposed issues ASAP. Completely ****** practice.
  23. It’s also a complete farce to put them in a white dwarf where I guess they will be dripped out over the next 2 years creating another avenue of haves and have-nots.
  24. Well I’ve just booked on to another event September 5th, GW best have pushed the book out by then!
