Yes, but you don't need Karkadrak for that.
If you play an exalted and a Lord for roughly the same price, you get a way better damage output.
Also Festus will do "-1 rend" for the remainder of the battle. So -2 rend is easily archivable.
Which brings us back to square one.
StD are garbage if not played in other armies.
Exactly. Either being withing 3" or having done a successful charge.
Let's assume you successfully charge with 2 units of vanguards. The 1st units wipes the enemy out. The 2nd Unit can pile in 6" since they did a successful charge as well.
The Vanguard Throne Battalion is one of the very few exceptions having a direct rule overwriting the regular pile in.
- I do think we have a really fun book
- It is just weird that the most iconic units are rubbish
May i ask how you combine those 2 things ????????
I want to have fun too but garbage units and fun somehow doesn't work for me
Sorry, your base assumption is already wrong.
You can only pile in if one of following two conditions are fulfilled:
A - Successful charge (1st model within 1/2 inch)
B - Being already within 3 inches.
The point of the rule is to get more units into combat range, not denying you opponent a combat phase
Page 60 of the StD book
If a model has more than one mark of Chaos, you can only choose one and it lasts for the duration of the battle.
That means it's not only Archi, is also applies to all items or abilities that grant more than one mark.
So we have rules that grant more than 1 mark but those rules are not applying to the army.
I he plays anywhere else than StD, he has all his marks back.
Whoever wrote that book, needs to rethink their career choice.
You guys seem to miss the whole point of the design.
As more we specialize our army as more powerful it get's. The trade is a lack of diversity.
This goes both ways. Lot's of unit options available come with the lack of special powers.
All this is made on purpose. If we make Armies with lot's of unit choices as powerful as factions, we don't need factions anymore
and go back to 4 books.
Legion of Azghor is still good and i don't see any point changes.
They can ally with Chaos Gargants, Everchosen, Khorne, Monster of Chaos, Nurgle, Slaneesh, StD, Tzeench
They introduced Legends which are declared as not legal in pitched battle anymore.
Bretonians are sadly part of that group. It's also shocking to see Tomb Kings are now illegal.
Sayl and Thamurkan's Horde is also on that list.
I'm with you here. I already had close to no hope for a change for the better.
But this is still unplayable and i am convinced the points are not the main problem.
Even is all units would have a 50% point drop it would still be no fun to play them
So it is illegal until someone else agrees to it. By default it's not legal.
But this is not my question. My question is, what do the Destiny Points do and what keeps me away from using 20.736 DP
What's the difference between 20 and 40 DP?
I predict that nobody cares since it's not legal for matched play except someone would create a special tournament around that rule
which i can't see.
People will do 1 or 2 heroes and then lose interest. It's similar to the new small battle size, introduced last year.
They played 1 or 2 matches and then went back to normal
I somehow doubt that someone has great success not knowing what they do.
Would someone explain me why this army is an "Eight Circle" army???????? There is not a single Varanguard in there.
And both wizzards have the same spell seems questionable to say at least
