  1. This is what everyone complains about and makes them unplayable. This difference between point cost and value on the board is too extreme to handle. Even half price wouldn't make it better because there are real questionable rules involved.

  3. It's on the "Overgrown Wilderness" rule for the Sylvaneth awaken forest. The core rule "Overgrown"doesn't have this exception.
  4. It certainly does. The wording is draw a line (from center base to center base of the enemy) or (closest part to closest part). If it crosses that terrain, no visibility and attack. Doesn't matter how high in the air you are, since the keyword is "crossing"
  5. Actually i didn't lose any of my games against them. But really is, it's only a handful of games and the guys forgot to use their rules because it was their 1st or 2nd game with them. This is how i learned what LRL can really do, going through the rules after those games. But there were also situation when i thought don't use this or this rule and i am toast, when they forgot to use it. My point is that players will learn how to use them right and we will have a 2nd Tzeench like army out there who counters everything and forces their game on other players
  6. I don't get the fuzz. The rule says: 1 in every 5 models. That's it. Not even specifying which model, just that you chose 1 out of 5 What you guys write in here, is pure fantasy and opinions but we play the rules as written and not how we want it to be. You could even have the unit champion have the banner and the horn. No idea where the problem is.

Oh they absolutely do have those rules build into their battletraits. -1 to hit some units ignore -1 rend (-2 if using the battletrait) They can push units 2" away from objects and directly follow up to fill this gap. You take any objective like that. All units are wizards. Teclis unbinds spells without rolling dice This is given to them by default. Every other army has to pay in some form for that. They also have spells that do 3 things at once in a radius , like unbind endless spells, mortal wounds on 6's and enemy wizards get -2 to to cast and dispel. All this is not even using the super special rules. Any player with half a brain win his/her games easily.
  8. Not sure if i read this right. Those guys will be a dominant force. Dominating the magic phase, strong shooting, dominating combat and defense. They got all the good stuff like the Bonereapers did but a tiny bit better. They also have the powerfull stuff by default while other armies have to pay points for upgrades or no access to it at all. How you rate them "fat middle" is far beyond me
  9. Get the box and every other book to your taste except StD. And even then you will have trouble to win games. You know something is wrong when Archeon the overlord of StD gets worse when played as StD.
  10. Both of you made good points but this is cherry picking and far from reality. In a real game we get maybe 2 spells of the whole game if lucky. There are popular armies out there who just control the magic phase. Beside that almost every army has now a auto dispell table wide. We can cancel out the magic phase as an advantage point for us. The warshrine seems nice but there is the nasty 3+ to get the ability off. This shouldn't be a thing at all. This will fail when needed most. It should have no prayer roll and should work in a bubble to make it reliable. The sorcerer's ability to provide save rerolls is redundant with the warriors reroll saves. Knights being great at a first look but they have to few attacks considering their base size. It's impossible to get 10 Knights in combat Also they have an average save and can easily be killed.
  11. The problem with all that is we are not in WHF anymore where the target was to steamroll the opponent. On top we have now opponents who ignore rend. Getting objectives needs numbers and this is where StD are on a loss. The meta right now are hordes and ignore battleshock because of this reason. And there are lots of little cheap road block units available to hold Varanguards for a turn. We have nothing beside Chaos Warriors that can hold objectives. Sadly this unit turned from one of the best to one of the worst battlelines. I still hope someone can come up with a list that makes some sense and gives at least a little chance of not being wiped of the board. But in my opinion StD are better played in the other books
  12. At this point you we can take out Archaeon, switch to Nurgle book and include Glottkin. We raise the warriors to 25 and include the Lord of Blight (-2 to hit 20+ models). I always end at that conclusion. The reroll 6's to hit artifact and the -to hit is too good to pass compared to the StD garbage. But this is only my 2 cents.
  13. Yeah i don't know............. it's not that easy. This is just looking at stats. The bases are just huge. And even if we have 10 knights we do 20 wounds at max and in reality our magic is shut down as well. Every Army has now an auto dispell some even table wide and +4million to dispell Doing 10 wounds would be more realistic. A unit with 10 wounds would be way too small to get 10 knights in.
  14. This list will lose you every game since you can't get any objective and have zero firepower.

  16. If this comes to Age of Sigmar USA or Canada, i will stop the hobby instantly. Governments are banning this nonsense in video gaming already and GW has nothing better to do than starting it.
  17. Count me in. I was very sad when the strength-toughness disappeared from WHF. Warriors of chaos felt like a real army because of this feature. It just feels weird how super strong guys dish out the exact damage as weaklings because everyone has the same armor save and rend

  22. Actually the Chaos Warriors were the horde with the guys who did great ascended to be Chosen ones. The marauders were always the free roaming tribes joining fights to impress their gods. So basically the cannon fodder. But all stories i read had hordes of chaos warriors lead by a chaos lord or demon prince. I leave this "Mark of Chaos" trailer here with you guys. After watching it, it becomes clear why so many people are upset about the warriors.
  23. Sadly there isn't much use for him since, like you said, Karkadrak is doing it cheaper and better. Before he was changed, he had the +1 so save when Nurgle mark. He was a must have in my Everchosen without Everchosen list. They took all that away from us
