  1. Awesome!! I totally agree, it's a beautiful book. I'm very happy with the quality of the print. I also agree, that more classic books reprinted would be welcome.
  2. It's funny you mention this because the only real reason we are seeing a resurgence of AoS is due to the fact that GW was forced to make massive changes to the company at a core level. Only time will tell if they have truly changed permanently, or it was a desperate move by the company to save Warhammer Fantasy/AoS from being killed off completely by the shareholders in favor of focusing only on Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40k.
  3. Please no. We really don't need GW to do anymore power creep..........
  4. Did you receive your copy? I got mine yesterday. It's an absolutely beautiful book.
  5. Gaining new people to the hobby is a lot harder than keeping those you already have. New armies will only get GW so far, in my opinion.
  6. Well said. I definitely agree that I think at this time, the game is succeeding for GW. My worry is that they will forecast something ridiculous that will get the shareholders all excited and then fail to meet that expectation. Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts in the video game industry are laying off hundreds of people to keep up with ridiculous forecasts and to see it happen there makes it all the more concerning when in regards to Warhammer, we only have one company to look at. You are also correct here. We are absolutely a very small percent of GW's global player base. I just think that GW really should look at all facets of the community, and not just focus on subsect. This is why I really hope an ample amount of people answered the community survey they sent out a little bit ago.
  7. You are also correct on this. At the end of the day GW is here to please stockholders, not us plebs on the ground floor buying the stuff. Morale of the people buying the product should be a key indicator to how well the game is doing to the community and its potential to expand, however, I question GW's ability to monitor this.
  8. You just smashed the nail so hard on the head, it's all the way through the board. It blows my mind that more people don't see this as a problem for the long term health of the game. It doesn't matter if we're talking AoS/40k/insert whatever here, it's just strictly the plain fact that people will become upset if their favorite faction is just disregarded by the company handling said game.
  9. You've made very good points. I also am aware that I am biased as a player and collector of AoS to the mindset I have regarding this. My big comment here is that while it's not "core", it's something that would be looked at as missed opportunities to players if they don't own it. The way I look at it is that GW is saying, well, it's not MANDATORY, but if you don't have it, then you're at a disadvantage. In my tinfoil hat opinion, they do this knowing and then raise the price of said product to make more money on the desperation of players.
  10. Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound like I was calling you out specifically. What bothers me the most is that there are people who truly believe that GW should be gutting factions, removing them from the world and play, and constantly creating new factions. I heavily disagree with this strategy as it's counterintuitive what the game wants to achieve. GW wants lifelong commitment to the hobby, and as such, I think that when they dump and/or no longer support factions, it's a giant middle finger to those passionate fans of that army. People don't want to be forced to switch to a new army, they want to love what they have and continue to play what they love. With that said, I'm totally on board with GW releasing new factions, however, I don't want it to affect the support for the factions that they have already released. I think new armies can bring in new players as well as breathe new life into the games evolving meta.
  11. This is tricky as on one hand, I totally agree with you. On the other, we have to remember that the example you gave was from army specific models, where as these are generic models to be used with any army. People may have a different perception between the two.
  12. GW set a precedent though with the MS release, the expectation that you will get a more full fledged release, instead of just a few spells and a terrain piece for more than the MS release price. I see what you mean, however, as a player/consumer, most people won't even care about the sprue count. They'll only care about how many models are in the box.
  13. I'm happy someone else said it. I can't believe that people are okay with losing factions/armies/models just because it "doesn't fit in AoS". Are you serious right now??
  14. Price is a big factor here. Why do we have to pay more for less?
  15. Thank you so so much for letting me know about this! I just preordered and am super excited!!! I agree with you, I really want that book, so I'm very happy they put it up and thankful that you let me know.
  16. This is a good idea. Personally, I'd rather give less money to the banks if at all possible.
  17. I really, REALLY hope that they make some for a limited edition run on the Black Library store.........................
  18. I see what you're saying, but more doesn't equal better. Agreed completely.
  19. Until I see the pricing scheme of the new contrast paints, I'm unimpressed with this move. Basically, going from buying one pot of glaze to buying a pot of Contrast and a pot of medium.
  20. Why would they remove glazes? Washing is a large part to popping out details, so I'm surprised by this move and to be honest, quite disappointed. Also, that definitely sucks regarding the removal of those spraypaint colors.
  21. That would be annoying. Personally, I'd rather have my ebook in Kindle format over Apple Books, so hopefully BL and Amazon can sort out any type of background issues. Sorry that your preorders got messed up.
  22. Do you happen to know if there has been any hints on potential cost per pot?
  23. GW had to scale back people's preorders as well. Some people who preordered didn't even get their copy. I'm not saying that Looncurse should be around forever, I just think that GW needs to handle their box sets better. I also don't understand why you'd blame the retailer, who submitted a preorder allotment to GW, for the failure of getting that allotment of Looncurse boxes to fulfill preorders. That seems backwards to me.
  24. I hear what you're saying completely. My point is that if it was handled differently, GW would produce more, sell more, make more $ for the shareholders AND players would get what they want. I don't see a downside to gauging the player base better.
