    https://www.blacklibrary.com/series/novella-series-1

There's full details of each book there. You can get them one by one in digital or paperback for £3 or you can get the whole set (again either in digital or paperback) for £27, which means if you get the whole set you get one book for free. They are basically novellas, so a hundred or so pages long ish each (that's very rough some are longer, some shorter); so about 1/3rdish the length of a regular novel. There are also excerpts on their respective pages on the website too.

I'm still debating between getting them in digital or paperback format - kind of wish GW put more art into their standard books even one or two bits on the internals helps make a story (esp a short one) in my view - esp as they've already got huge amounts of visual material from their models to their artwork. Plus I always think it makes a book worth owning when its got that extra visual touch; not just text (esp today when pure text books are good on ereaders)

Sad to see that Destruction doesn't seem to figure at all. ?

Hopefully, they are saving it all for a big year of Destruction released and narrative development in 2019. ?

Don't forget the new 10 novella series comes out on pre-release today with a release next week - there's 4 AoS stories in there and its likely well worth getting them or one of the two complete sets (digital or print). Interestingly if you get the all-in-one you get one free.

Interesting... any, idea what there focus will be?

The bad moon rises again  ?

couldnt be happier I am just praying that my 200+ models all remain playable and get some wonderful new re-enforcements and a wonderful rewrite of there rules ?

if I was wishing for the cherry on top, skarsnik retuning on a giant  gobbla blasting things with his trident would be amazing. And as they talked about the souls of heroes from the past being released in malign portents not an impossible concept ?

Now we need the old enemies back, bring on battletome  rat and stuntie so we can all go toe to toe again.

I Second that! Destruction needs more interesting and identifiable characters. Skarsnik or a similar grot warboss would be perfect.

Steering this back to rumours...... ?

The timetable has been released for whats going on at Blood and Glory this weekend. This has the times for the AOS event (so keep an eye on Warhammer TV on Twitch this weekend for coverage), but in regards of this thread the GW seminar will be on FRIDAY at 20:00 UK time.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to be there for the Seminar this year (no days off left :() but I'm expecting a article on the Warhammer Community Site with cool stuff on it. I will be at the event over the weekend though :D

Thanks! I'll keep my eyes pealed for anything Destruction related.

According to a quick google, the September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine was (at the time) the largest magazine issue ever published, at 840 pages.  It weighed about 5 pounds.  Later, the September 2012 issue was 916 pages (I don't see a weight listed).

It seems unlikely that White Dwarf would come close to reaching those levels.  Even if it was like the 100th anniversary or something.

You! Take your logic and reasonableness and shove it! This is the rumor thread! Logic isn't allowed here! We only deal in wild slavering passion filled speculation!?

  6. @Oreaper84 I would love an actual foot of Gork/Mork stomping round.

Personally, though I'd rather have a new behemoth unit. I'd love to see an Avatar of Gork or Mork made out of pure WAAAGH! energy that shows up in battle 'cuz of the Bonesplitters belief in Gorkamorka would be brilliant. It could be something like the Eidolon's the Deepkin have and be built to either be a super smashy melee focused Avatar of Gork or a magic and kunnin' focused Avatar of Mork. If it existed I'd buy in a heart beat and play it with both my Bonesplitterz and Ironjawz.

  7. I'm in the process of building up my army and I'm trying to stay away from Kunning Rukk and arrow spam. Partially because it doesn't seem very ork like, and partially because that's too many dice to roll. I'm interested on your thoughts on two different lists below.

All around/Teef list. This list is built around the big stabbas to kill units, but really is a designed to provide a lot of wounds and a high degree to tactical flexibility to play the objective game. The downside is the "killy" parts a quite slow and will be hard to actually get into combat consistently.

General - Prophet (buff the big stabba / get units into combat in hero phase)

    Weirdnob (buff the big stabba)

Wardokk (or use the 100p for Teef Ruck)

30 Savage Boyz (the protect the the stabbas and hold up units for them)

4 Big Stabbas or 2 x 2 BS (provide most of the damage of the army are bubble wrapped by the Boyz)

30 Arrowboyz (hold objective provide some shooting support)

10 Morboys (utility unit to screen or hold objectives)

10 Savage boarboys w spears (hunt monsters, grab objectives, hold up the enemy with retreat and charge for the big stabba)

10 Savage boarboys w spears (hunt monsters, grab objectives, hold up the enemy with retreat and charge for the big stabba)

    2000 points and 244/249 wounds

Bring da Pork/Shagga list. This list is more focused on charging around the board quickly to take objectives and do as much damage as possible. Its killing power come from the boarboy Maniaks buffed by both Weirdnobs and Ork warbosses. The issue I see with this list is that it basically does what the Ironjawz do, but probably not as well since the units don't hit as hard. I think it would be a lot of fun to play though, and after all the point of Orks is to enjoy the WAAAGH not win it. ;)

General - Ork Warboss on boar with Banner (use WAAAGH to buff the Maniaks and try not to die)

Ork Warboss (or replace with Skagga Rukk)

Weirdnob (buff the Maniaks and try not to die)

Weirdnob (buff the Maniaks and try not to die)

30 Savage Boyz (utility hold objectives, get in the way, hold up units for the stabba)

2 Big Stabbas (provide a little punching power)

30 Morboys (go after objectives, try to get the WAAAGH buff for weight to attacks, shield Maniaks where possible)

10 boarboy Maniaks (Charge everything and do as much damage as possible)

10 boarboy Maniaks (Charge everything and do as much damage as possible)

10 Savage boarboys w spears (hunt monsters, grab objectives, hold up the enemy with retreat and charge for Maniaks)

    1980/2000 points and 242/236 wounds

What do you guys think? I have yet to play a game with my Bonesplitterz, so I'm not really sure how the units actually play, particularly the big stabbas.

  8. Hey, I have a noob question about the WAAGH!! ability. It says gives one extra attack on each mlee weapon. Does that include boar or grunta tusks? Or is it only for weapons like choppas?

I'm in the process of building my first army and I'm deciding how much synergy I can get between a warboss and gruntas or savage boars.

Okay... so it would be better for me to build a army not based on it’s strong points? Because it might get a bit more balance relative to other armies in 8+ months time?

    #justaskingforafriend ;)

I think the FAQ is likely to come out before that. ...but you never know.

I'd say blocks of 30 witches will be strong even if their points increase or if Hags point increase. You may not want to go all in on Hagg Nar with two cauldrons though.  I would suggest one slaughter queen cauldron, one or two hags, one 30 block of witches, then a couple smaller units of sisters as they have synergies with other temples, and then Morathi,  a mix of blood sisters, Khinaries, and maybe some Doomfires. They are quality units, if slightly less efficient. They will also give you more tactical flexibility and set you up to use a different temple if Hagg Nar get's nerfed into oblivion.

I wouldn't avoid the DoK due to a possible nerf. Unless it's a massive overreaction, they're still going to be very good. They have a lot of very solid combat units and a lot of synergy that probably isn't going anywhere.

  10. I got into AoS this summer and now I'm fully addicted to the plastic crack. For me it was Warhammer Total War that introduced me to Warhammer and when I heard that AoS was simpler than 40k and less oppressively grimdark I thought I would give it a shot.

I don't know if it was the same everywhere, but with the game group I play with 2nd edition really seems to have brought people into the game. A lot of people were on the fence and are now jumping in.

Not even a conversion, that’s the Grot war boss on giant squig built with the spear option. That’s a model I really want to see replaced.

Me too! My greatest hope is for new squig models. Particularly the squig riders, if they are still going to be a thing.

Jeah. That is what I am also fearing. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like those new Underworld models. But in my opinion this isn't enough support for Destruction compared to all the other Grand Alliances.

I am still on the fence if we are really getting a new Destruction faction, or if we will instead get another two or three Stormcast Chambers or new Chaos factions before we will even come close to anything Destruction related. And maybe in the end we will just get one model after a long wait.

I would hope for a cool and big Moonclan/Troggoth release, but I don't want to expect too much. As a Destruction player you are often used to being disappointed.

I like 2+ Tough's theory that next year will be the year of destruction. They will be the main adversary, as Death and Chaos were previously. This will obviously correspond battletomes, updates, new models, and maybe new sub-factions.

There isn't really any strong evidence for this other than the way Destruction forces mobilize to fight Death  Malign Portents and Gorkamorka seems to be bent on counter attacking against Nagash while he is focused on Chaos and Order. If this is the case , I would guess that Destruction  updates/new factions don't really get rolling until next year along with new narrative arch.

Personally, I think Slaanesh is the next reslease, not Moonclan. The last really model reveal was Slaanesh and he/she is also where the current Death focused narrative is heading. I'd say that gets wrapped up with with a new release or two over winter. Then over the spring and summer things shift to a new chapter of the narrative focused on Destruction and Gorkamorka's great WAAAGH!!! that we Destruction players have all waiting for.

    This.

Think of it basically as a 6+ save for everything.  Take a normal wound? 6+ save.  Take a mortal wound? 6+ save.

I'm a bit confused. I thought @Thostos said it was only for mortal wounds not all wounds. But you understood it as a save for everything like death and the Daughters of khaine get?

    If so that's awesome.
