  1. Iβ€˜d live to see more crazy variations of Troggoths! Keep them coming!
  2. It blocked a 500 pts dragon for 3 turns! It was great.
  3. Here we go! The game was a draw. I didn’t manage to make a single save for my Blood Knights (including regeneration) so they died to a whim BUT they still performed well! I misplayed some parts (Necromancer should have been roaming the board) and my opponent misread the Sphinxβ€˜s decapitating strike as strike first and insta-killed my Vampire inside the Blood Knights (otherwise they’d had oneshot that monstrosity!) Overall there were some good back and forths. The Varghulf wiffed all his attacks and died (they forgot to add trample attacks to his stats) the Black Knights did nothing and died (I struggle to see a use for them tbh). Imo Dire Wolves are the better Black Knights: Same role but incredibly fast as cheap! The wolves tief up the Catapult for 3 turns. Overall I struggle to see a use for Grave Guard and Black Knights for the same reasons: Expensive Models, only 1 attack each, no supporting attacks, bad WS. It was a great game!
  4. Iβ€˜ll be having another game today. Iβ€˜ll post (a waterfall) of images again - sadly my army is only 30% painted this time, sorry! The list: ++ Characters [999 pts] ++ Wight Lord [146 pts] (Hand weapon, Heavy Armor, Shield, Battle Standard Bearer, Banner Of The Barrows, Skeletal Steed) Master Necromancer [210 pts] (Hand weapon, Level 4 Wizard, On Foot, Spell Familiar, Cloak Of Mist & Shadows, Earthing Rod, Dark Magic) Vampire Count [510 pts] (Hand weapon, No armour, Zombie Dragon, Talisman of Protection, Ogre Blade, Beguile, Dark Magic) Vampire Thrall [133 pts] (Lance (when mounted), Heavy Armor, Shield, Nightmare, Dark Acolyte, Dark Magic) ++ Core Units [505 pts] ++ 7 Black Knights [214 pts] (Lances & Shields, Skeletal Hooves, Heavy Armor, Barding, Hell Knight, Standard bearer, Musician) 25 Zombies [80 pts] (Hand weapon, Standard bearer) 26 Skeleton Warriors [171 pts] (Thrusting Spears & Shields, Light Armor, Skeleton Champion, Standard bearer, Musician) 5 Dire Wolves [40 pts] (Claws and Fangs (Hand weapons)) ++ Rare Units [494 pts] ++ 7 Blood Knights [354 pts] (Hand weapons, Lances & Shields, Iron-Shod Hooves, Full Plate Armor & Barding, Kastellan, The Blazing Banner, Standard bearer, Musician) 1 Varghulf [140 pts] (Wicked Claws, Calloused Hide (light armor)) --- Created with "Old World Builder" [https://old-world-builder.com]
  5. Folder Square to Square: Added Rectangular Trays for every kind of lance formation your heart might desire: Basic 6 man (3 Rows Deep) - Enhancer with a row of 4 - Enhancer with a row of 5 - Enhancer with a row of 6 Round to Square: a 150x100mm Square base with a slot for a 130mm round Base (the Base Size of Nagash, Zombie Dragons etc.). Name: 150x100 with round gap base everything free of Course
  6. So Iβ€˜ll be switching among a few factions playing TOW (I am not rebasing which can be an issue for the big oval chariot bases) - Dark Elves: I started shortly after Total War Warhammer launched, were used for 9th age for a while now they are back for Cities of Sigmar ~2K painted, another roughly 600 points of Chariots, a Dragon and as if late bleakswords are awaiting the brush. - Vampire Counts: Probably my main army back in 8th as Bretonnia was unplayable. Some 3K painted, another 10k awaiting the judgment of the colorful bristles. - Bretonnia (n Exiles): I really love these. Iβ€˜ll be using the new CoS Models mostly mixed with Bretonnians to show the intermingling of cultures. After Lords of the Lance I really want to paint one unit as Black Steel Knights. Iβ€˜ll also be printing a lot since Iβ€˜ve got painting PTSD from the old Knights. -Empire: Maybe! Using CoS minis and my Demigryphs. Iβ€˜ve also got a lot of Wood Elfs in my cabinet (rangers, eternal guard) and some 2k+ points if Ironbreakers, longbeards and irondrakes, a thane, a gyrobomber and two runelords (sadly no core units xD)
  7. The actual issue is that matched play uses the same ruleset as tournament-play. imo there should be a seperation. Matched play as fairly balanced but with a less competetive focused playstyle for standard games. And Tournament play for the best possible balance and skill. having both combined in matched play makes the tournament side of things influence the way the game is played too much imo
  8. The release of TOW has laid open some glaring issues I have with AoS that I couldn't quite put my finger on before. In general AoS seems to be mostly catered towards the competetive Playerbase, in turn everything has become a token: - Characters with the same Profiles, the same unit, just different models (2 A, 3+,3+, DMG1 mortals on 6s) - The whole game isn't about cool battles or heroic deeds it's about achieving random objeftives which makes it feel more arcade-like and more forgettable (which isn't a bad thing for "quicker" games, but I don't like it, I am here for the narrative gaming side) (this is also a 40K - in contrast I prefer Boarding actions which break this pattern) - Mortal wounds: Most skew lists become the way they are because they try to maximize on MWs - The main focus is sales and sales alone: Characters are generic so they can release almost the identical Character but with a slightly different loadout. Books become invalidated within months. New "Season" rules drop so fast that the edition itself gets warped. It's become so generic (rules-wise). The moment it started down this path was when Jervis Johnson retired. Yes he made some really out of whack rules, but at least he made some memorable and cool rules at the same time. idk. I still like AoS but I wished it took a different route.
  9. * The only customisation we received is the Anvil of Apotheosis. That one is neither matched play legal nor well made as it is completely out of whack
  10. That sums up pretty much the biggest issues I have with AoS. - The immersion is gone in favor of random tasks one has to complete to win - Heroes are dull and everything is the same.
  11. Got a question am I the only one who interpreted the Martial Prowess rule to grant the ability to do supporting attacks and in addition towards all directions? (No one in our local club could make sense of the rule, reddit however was very clear in the response) In short: Am I the only one who thinks this isnβ€˜t well formulated? (I know its intend is to only work with models that can fight in an extra rank) citation: β€žA unit with this special rule can make supporting attacks to its flank or rear, as well as to its front.β€œ
  12. Same here! Some of my Characters: Necromancer Scum (Title: The useless) managed to lose control of the first spell in EVERY Game back in 8th and was sucked into the Realm of Chaos (everytime out of the 6 times!). In the lore we had his fellow Necromancer Jens perform a Ritual to pull him from the realm of chaos every time. Ephilia von Keysz (Isabella Model) - Mistress of Kreysz, Carstein working for Mannfred Adunag - The Terrogheist my Ghoulking rides Dieter Weschler - The Imperial Infantry General of my Brother. and many more TOW lends itself way more to have memorable battles and characters. I was thinking at some point if we coul TOW-ify AoS in some way - would be a hell lot of work though! I currently can't get the direction AoS is taking out of my head (since I don't like it). - It feels like an arcade game with no bigger meaning (Pew Pew, nice next game). This makes me sad tbh.
  13. The FeC Box works the way it should imo. About TOW Models: Agreed, it's a mess (they still haven't adressed the problems, did they?) I received my TOW Models a week ago through a german webstore who apparently received a small restock. The rest I bought off ebay (super annoying trying to get a decent deal on ebay these days, but it worked for the Duke on Pegasus and the Bone Dragon) My issue with most that has been claimed about the success of AoS readsy like sh*t-talk. Sure I am less hyped about AoS than I used to be (mostly due to the mishandlung of GHBs and loving the customisation options of TOW) but I highly doubt it's doing as badly as is being claimed
  14. It reads too much like some doom-sayer-shield written on cardboard. I agree however on that GW really doesn't grasp their targe audience(s) - New Bretonnian Knights would have even made the old Player Base buy even more -> Shiny new Bretonnians after two decades of neglect! Take my money! It just reads too negative for my taste and too negative to reflect reality which tends to be quite chaotic, mixed and more complicated.
  15. You slap the character to the side of the unit
  16. Sure. I just want those foot knight for bretonnia x_x please?
  17. Was the BL preview our preorder preview for this week?
  18. Conversion finished! However I think this might not fit onto a 50 mm x 100 mm base
  19. I want those foot knights! They’re the only chance I might be able to kitbash half-way-good-looking Bretonnian Knights
  20. Lore reasons (she has a group of vampire attendants, since AoS refuses to implement a distinction it’s all Vampire LORDS) or The Designers think Vampires are beatsticks 🀣 However it’s an nice excuse to play my 9 different VL Miniatures all at once (and see them being killed almost immediately xD) even if a VloZD would be battleline: who cares?
  21. Base sizes: I've just measured all my 50 mm x 100 mm rectangular bases. They're all illegal since in reality those measue 46.5 mm x 99mm each time XD Let's just say that the base sizes are mostly irrelevant
