  1. their existing battletome is their 2.0. GW has said as much. 4 subfactions (2 of which already exist as batallions in the current tome) is not going to move the meter at all for Nurgle. No Warscroll reworks. No base allegiance ability reworks.
  2. Nurgle was "designed with 2.0 in mind". I believe after Seraphon it is now the oldest battletome, and will remain so until 3.0. Sure it is missing some more modern concepts like sub factions (which many people don't like anyway), but I don't think this book will be more nurgle focused than any other GA, and won't revolutionize the army. It's just going to likely have some (13) cool new sub factions, of which i'd expect 1-2 are "nurgle only" (~1-2 from each god, some mortal soup, some daemon soup, maybe some rats)
  3. they usually do not put named heroes in start collecting boxes, maybe because if you buy 2 you have a hero you can't use. I assume there is only 1 invisible elf. the definition of "multi-part kit" is really fading. These days it means you may have weapon options, you may have head options. You're not going to be able to pose your models as easily. The releases the last couple of years have really prioritized minimizing sprues and getting really great dynamic poses that don't lend themselves to posable "multi-part kits" of the past.
  4. 1. 2.0 battletome art seems to have higher standards, do you have any examples of 2.0 battletome covers that so blatantly do not match the models. 2. They revealed a nurgle warband, but no other warbands. They always release 2 at a time right? It would be a convenient time to release seraphon warband so it could be in the book. otherwise you've got years of that warscroll not being in a book (they seem to try really hard to avoid this sort of thing). Nurgle is now the oldest battletome, they don't have as long to wait. If you've got your designers making a little bloodbowl team, and a little underworlds warband, doesn't it make sense to have them design a few other models at the same time while they're in the seraphon grove? 3. You already have an example of releasing a new SC box for an old army (STD) that just adds some new sculpts without replacing the existing kits. 3. The current seraphon start collecting box is a terrible mess. It's got odd model counts, it's got very old inefficient sprues.. it has 7 full frames! The new Slaves to Darkness box is 3 full frames. When you've been production bottlenecked for years, being able to reduce a high volume product like a SC box from 7 frames to 3, that's a huge plus. Not to mention, the saurus warriors and knights are some of the most complained about sculpts, even though they're plastic and still servicable, so some new supplmentary sculpts would be very welcome. So, all that considered. I think it's possible we'll see some new Seraphon models yet...
  5. I think KO is too restrictive. The skyports lock all 3 code choices, artifact, and command trait, AND battleline options To play 2k list of KO you must either: play 3 units of arkanaut company play a hero that is not available for sale to unlock fly boys play a skyport that locks down 5 other choices for you.
  6. Cross-posting from seraphon thread since I really think this battletome cover mertis more discussion In addition to the saurus not looking like existing saurus models, there are a lot of goldon icon on pole things that do not match anything we have. In green i have circled the Current Carnosaur and Engine of the Gods. They mostly match. The things in red don't come close to anything we have. (unless I am an idiot and missing something. It's unusual for battletome cover art to stray so much from the models, isn't it??They oven go as far as to painting the characters even in the exact same pose as the model. What do you guys think? new models confirmed? Artist took too much liberty?

  8. we know for certain we will see pointy aelves. they said so. it is possible but imo unlikely to see a second new faction, but seraphon battletome would not be a huge reveal if it was just a battletome/spells/terrain.
  9. One thing we have not seen in AoS yet is a Shadowspear type box. All brand new models (easy to build/starter set variety) in a dual army box. This could be a good way to get some new sculpts out there for Seraphon (similar to how the new STD box is designed to compliment existing kits with dynamic yet unflexible models), if they don't want to completely replace some of the dated seraphon plastic kits. I think it's also quite possible from a business release timing/cadence perspective.... Soul Wars is over a year and a half old now... We got Shadowspear almost 2 years after Dark Imperium.
  10. New armies usually do NOT get a box on release. I was very suprised when Bonereapers did, It's certainly the exception to the rule. Typically you would see new models show up in a battleforce/vs box / start collecting ~1yr after the army comes out... They want to sell kits at full price first. That said, their buisness model while mostly predictable is always evolving, so perhaps Feast of Bones was a bellweather. Anyway I think the fact that "Sons of Behemat Warscroll Cards" is a product indicates that there must be some new kits. You're not going to sell a pack of 2-3 cards. I don't think they'll include ogors or models from all these other battletomes that JUST came out. It could possibly be 1-3 new kits, each with multiple builds. Multiple builds for the existing gargant, could be 10 different units. from those few kits. Would be smaller than even DoK and FEC, but we know how popular imperial knights are so it could work.
  11. Why would they put gargants in the Gloomspite battletome AND Ogor battletome. Beast of Chaos AND Slaves to darkness. They don't really fit in any, but they had to put them in ONE, because they were cleaning up their range (all models in a modern 2.0 battletome, or scraped). I think they will only put a unit in multiple battletomes when it makes sense thematically (nagash in nighthaunt and bonereapers, because he's the big boss..... tzaangors in BoC and Tzeench, because they are tzeentchy beastmen) Now that they are getting their own army, you'll find that they will likely be removed from the next GSG battletome. I don't know the fate of the chaos gargant, though.
  12. I mean keep in mind that books/cards could sit at the warehouse for months before release. With the issues they had with Sylvaneth, You'd rather get your product from china earlier than later. I assume they pick their release schedule based on what's ready to go. I think this just means that it is coming in the next few months. Maybe before pointy aelves, maybe after. Unfortunately this site is not on the wayback machine so it's not possible to see the full history (I guess unless you have an account there)
  13. visitng this site: https://cn.panjiva.com/Asia-Pacific-Offset-Ltd/1367220 Currently I can see Sons of Behemat warscroll cards on a shipping manifest dated Jan 20, 2020. If I use google cache: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:5P7vMnnxr-wJ:https://panjiva.com/Games-Workshop/46006013+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us I can see Seraphon Warscroll cards going to GW memphis warehouse on Jan 18, 2020 To find this i googled "warscroll cards sons of behemat" and "warscroll cards seraphon" site:panjiva.com Is this legit? edit: also found "Blood Bowl Underworld Old World Pitch" and "Aeronatica Imperialis Taros Board". To find different things just google "games workshop" site:panjiva.com, and look at the cached version of the various pages.
  14. god hopefully its a bit more interesting then that, or what was the point of this exercise of making a whole new army. (you've just re-done wfb high aelves)
  15. I try to understand GW's business model and look for patterns in their releases. There are a lot of similarities between all their boxset releases in terms of timing, sprue count, format, etc. and I was thinking.... What if, instead of a Looncurse style box set, we get a Shadowspear style (ETB box set)? To clarify, let me distinguish between the 2 types of big boxes GW is releasing right now: 1. Starter Sets - All new sculpts, easy to build. Dark Imperium, Soul Wars, Shadowspear, Deathwatch Overkill, 2. "Battle boxes" - Whatever you want to call them. 2 armies, mostly old kits, with 1 new hero thrown in on each side (Carrion Empire, Looncurse, Wake the Dead) That is to say, instead of a bunch of old plastic kits, new, monopose, starter set style kits. Reasons: We think the new death army will be a big release with at least several new models/kits. They are not going to sell brand new models at a discount (I was suprised when Looncurse came out only 4 months after gloomspite released.) If the box contains more new models than just a hero or two, it will be quite a while before we set it. They're not going to promote it with a big box of old junk (skeletons and ogors are ok but not amazing kits. And the ogors take a lot of sprue space There was a (very sketchy) rumour that ogors are getting a new Butcher as well. Makes sense since the current butcher situation is a mess (2 models, different rules, both resin) Looncurse/Carrion Empire / etc style boxes typically have 1 new hero per side and then a bunch of old stuff. With a all new ETB release they can put more heroes in (shadowspear had 4 total heroes, all on their own sprues) AoS has not had any of these "mid edition" ETB boxes yet. What happens in AoS / 40k from a productization stand point is likely to happen in the other. GW loves ETB. More models on a sprue, Great to get new people into the hobby. Make great sculpts with less work. If this isn't the ETB box set, expect one soon (before AoS 3.0) So what do you guys think. 100% we are getting a "Shadowspear" style box Ogors vs Death... right??
  16. If they provide a roadmap, everyone would just wait and they wouldn't sell many minis. It would be unfortunate if Yhetees and Cats warscrolls are omitted from the book, but I think it's likely. But really, your old army got squatted and so you spent $500 on really old, terrible resin sculpts assuming the models would just get refreshed? It's not like they are super iconic units or anything. Hopefully you understood that risk when you bought them... That said, even if they are dropped from the book, they should be in the GHB for a bit still. Also, you can always play them in non-matched play! (Since you went for a full Yhetee / Cat army, for one of the most underpowered factions, i assume you probably don't care much about matched play anyway)
  17. Ogor range will be in a great spot with Bulls - basic infantry Grots (if kept) -horde unit Ironguts - elites Leadbelchers - ranged Mournfang - Calvary Scraplauncher/ironblaster artillery Beastriders - 2 beasts, tons of options 4 mounted heroes 2 heroes on foot(at least one new sculpt) Most of this are pretty good kits...all you really need are good rules. So what are you on about?
  18. We don't expect any new kits. It's just going to be whatever they already have. I don't think GW is intentionally focusing on Daemons, except that Daemons work in 40k and AoS so they are more profitable in that sense.
  19. Maybe some of this stuff was given Merc rules BECAUSE they knew it was getting squatted. Kind of a consolation prize... The models you have will never be in a proper battletome, and we have pretty restrictive allies rules, but here, have some rules to play them as mercs in your supported army. Or (more nefariously): "we need to clear out some of these resin kits before people find out they aren't going to be in a book" No reason it couldn't be both.
  20. works for me, it's from /tg/, so take with a big grain of salt, but it is not too outlandish: Gutbusters+BCR 1 faction all resin dropped new Butcher + Tyrant models Butcher with cauldron gone. Cauldron is now terrain piece. Endless spells are big mouth in ground, everwinter thing, floating piece of meat release late october w/ new death New skeletons, some horse archers, some ogre skeletons Tzeentch final chaos tome for the year
  21. They explicitly called out "Grundstock Gunhauler" and we know of course Stormcast will be eligible. Based on Firestorm and the free cities there, I think it's safe to say that Fyreslayers, KO, Stormcast, potentially all order factions minus Seraphon and maybe Idoneth, will be able to be played with this book. So I don't think it's worthwhile to speculate who will "make it into the book", either you're in or your legends, basically. I suspect anyone belonging to an army with an existing battletome will not have their warscroll printed in this book (they are free anyway, or just buy the other books) despite being able to be a part of some city.
  22. I mean, this version of AoS is centered around the Soul Wars. pretty central to the Soul wars is Slaneesh, and the siphoning of Aelf souls by Tyrion, Teclics, Malerion and Morathi. We have already gotten Khinerai, Melusai, and Idoneth Deepkin out of this. The Idoneth were an early attempt with flaws. Presumably they kept trying and successfully created new aelves from this that are something different. In the recent Realmslayer audio drama, Gotrek sees a "Priestess robed in White and blue with a tall miter and crescent moon staff bedecked with symbols of Hysh" and says "I think I've just discovered what's gone wrong in this world" The battlesmith with him says "I don't understand... it's just a priestess of Teclis" Gotrek is familiar with Teclis, and the aelves of the old world, so there are for sure some Hysh aelves in the mortal realms that are somehow different. That's obviously just one mention, and they are mentioned else where. Will they get an army in AoS? Probably. Soon? Who knows. My point is, You compared them to dwarves. Dwarves are not currently central to the storyline in AoS. The Soul Wars are, and the pulling of Souls from Slaneesh is a major story point. It's not going to be surprising if more comes from that.
  23. Feel like it's important to not get everyones hopes up. There is no confirmation that this is part of the wanderers, or that wanderers will be a part of whatever this is. (or that this warband will even lead to anything in AoS)
