  1. How to play him is a little vague of a question I like to play him in My path to glory army, Archaon vs EVERYONE!!! Mwuhahaha but more seriously...he is now both a huge force multiplier and a beast himself. Himself - the change to his top speed movement (14”), 3 heads are now automatically in Hero phase (free endless spell removal), Eye is just flat 6, gains an extra CP each turn he’s alive, you get to use your command ability for free, has a brand new spell lore (teleports himself hahahahaha), -2 rend on 2 of his attack profiles, knows turn order in HoE, he’s a HEDONITE and can benefit from both their demon and mortal spell lores and Hedonite abilities (depravity points), works in all the other god armies too... army - his mark aura radius is HUGE (something like 40”), gives RR1s on hit/wound in HoE, +2/-2 bravery to units, gives units basically Death Frenzy, there’s more that I can’t remember too he is 800 points...yes, that’s 40% of a 2k list...there will be some games where he’s gonna die first turn and you’re like “WTF?!?! Game over! Sad panda!” But that’s RNG, and the game we play...but there will be other games where you charge 2 heroes and Slayer of Kings both of them in the same turn, and all the other crazy things he can do...he’s going to be great (or I’m just hyping myself up haha) his warscroll is much more symbolic of his lore now
  2. Question on the Warshrine: The Warshrine doesn’t state anymore that you grant the buff of the god you chose...so, if I give the Warshrine let’s say Nurgle, I can still do the Slaanesh buff to a unit?? i just can’t grant the secondary buff unless the targeted model has the corresponding keyword?!? The Warshrines personal mark only matters now for Aura abilities, correct?? (Or if it buff itself)
  3. Infused Arcanum in a Disciples if Tzeentch army, NO (edit: sorry, didn’t realize Be’Lakota wasn’t able to take a mark...he looks to have Undivided, so if that’s the case, and only Tzeentch wizards can take Infused Arcanum, then no...or at least I’m sure it’s a no) spell from S2D book in a Disciples if Tzeentch army, NO. Spell from the S2D book in a S2D army, where all the units are marked with Tzeentch, YES.
  4. Yes, and for each 3+, pick a unit to get +1 attack (can’t select the same unit multiple times) so effectively all your units should benefit
  5. I’m thinking the 6th waypoint ability on Deamonforged Blades...buffed with either: khorne - RR 1s hit, +1 W, bloodsecrator aura, 8 points spell gives 5/2+(RR 1s)/2/-1/d3+1 slaanesh - 6s generate extra hits, 8 point spell is 4/2/2/-1/d3+1 strike twice and Death Frenzy from Archaon can do some damage one of the new spells can also heal a unit d3, so why not?!?! I think 300 points is a bit steep still, but it’s also not terrible. 260 would have been fine since everything else got a points increase it seems
  6. So, this may be RAW...but it’ll probably be FAQd as this is SUPER powerful. I’m sure the RAI is within the 4 (or more if buffed somehow) base attacks Slayer gets. but I could be wrong, no clue regardless I’m happy with just the warscroll changes
  7. So...I don’t know if I’d call it disturbing... so...think about it this way... Deamonforged blades are now 3/3(2)/3/-1/d3, so they lose an attack, but gain +1 wound, d3 dmg, and attack sequence doesn’t end on 6 to hit.. also, they naturally attack a second time, essentially have Death Frenzy from Archaon, can keep attacking twice per Chaos Lord, and the endless spell (8fold Sigil)can give them another attack! And we don’t even know what the legion abilities do, nor the new spell lore. yes, they lost the 4+ (now 5+) on Runeshields, but Occulus gives them reroll all saves, not just failed saves...so that’s also a benefit for them. They also still get cover saves, and a 3+ save... i think they can do some good damage, but will need to be screened properly, and their targets chosen well.
  8. I agree with the items you state about the Double Turn and our new inherent rule. I think though it will be super powerful. It will dictate (assuming you are currently playing the top of the round) whether or not you become aggressive and push towards key objectives/choke points, or knowing you’ll be second, turn more towards defensive turtling. It would impact the spells you cast (do I really need Mystic Shield on this unit that won’t be in combat this or next turn?? Can I Arcane Blast instead?!), which units run as they’re potentially out of range this turn but def not next turn, and which units get teleported for key end game secondary objectives (line breaker). Definitely more ways to utilize this ability, but these are just a few ways of how it will allow us to change our tactics. I don’t believe it is game breaking, but it does give a great advantage. We will see soon how much of an advantage it is meant to deal once we see the whole book fleshed out. Give this knowledge to a 3 Keeper Slaanesh army, and this rule is bonkers. We might be different. We also have to remember that smart opponents will quickly figure out if we have the priority based on our actions as well. It will give them the ability to start pre-planning their potential turn more confidently.
  9. Me too...except I already converted my gore beast to be a counts as Daemonic Mount for my now useless mortal Slaanesh >.< oh well, guess I need another one (if they get good)!
  10. Found some Varanguard at a local shop...20% off for Small Business Saturday, and had a $30 gift card!! so excited to finally build and paint this kit. Definitely going to magnetize the weapons though as I’m not sure what’s going to be viable in 2 weeks >.<
  11. So, I’m not sure if you can fit a Glottkin into an StD army, as his points total is over the limit. However, all the units you wanted to take from StD are able to take a Mark of Chaos...you would choose Nurgle, and effectively you would be running a Nurgle army.
  12. Gotta keep the thread going! In an effort, here’s a WIP pic of a sorcerers manticore im painting up. Not sure what will still be in the book, or if they’ll get a power boost...but I got it so might as well paint it and get it into the display case. 😝
  13. Not yet, but not sure if this has been discussed, but allegedly the same company that created other terrain pieces is making a Varanspire Fountain. Could be for us, could be for Warcry. https://spikeybits.com/2019/11/new-aos-slaves-to-darkness-terrain-spotted.html?fbclid=IwAR2CBthN5K3Eo11Cti3DL5stCYB9cTut5dKvxdRdSyoBOlJXuAUzrWdy0yE
  14. Correct it is Knights and not Varanguard. Speaking of Varanguard though, even if their warscroll doesn’t change, how do people build them? Or is it more dependent on (currently) god selection??
  15. they're...so...delicious!! Honestly though i was hoping for not new scults of warriors and knights...i was so excited to paint the ones i have already...and now i don't want to haha
  16. I personally don’t need new models, but it would be cool to get a couple new kits. my biggest wishes for the new tome is to update: Archaon power level (like +1 more Rend and attacks always rend something like this and he’d be perfect) benefits to units that don’t pick a god not have every buff be the same between the buffing units (Chaos Lord/Daemonic Steed/Warshrine/Army Abilities)
  17. You can also check eBay for the box...there is currently a 10% off coupon when you log into the app, so it makes the box even better.
  18. Got 32 warriors and was just thinking about how to best equip them >.< as for wish list, I hope they give Unmarked some love...I want to use my Archaon with a bunch of unmarked warriors and knights to just wreck havoc on my opponents, without bringing in any of the other gods
  19. I’ll agree, I think you have too many points in endless spells. You can only cast 7 spells per turn (until you summon more casters, but that will not be until turn 2 or 3), Have roughly 11 spells available, and probably 4 (cogs/stupor/umbrel/overwhelming acquiescence) that are must cast? I’m currently running Kairos because he’s painted and I didn’t have enough time to buy/paint all the Slaanesh models I want, but he’s become almost a staple for me. If I ever did drop him, it’d be for either 2 more Epitomes or 1 epitome 1 exalted bladebringer (and find a few more pints)
  20. Few questions: does a Lord of Change/Kairos get affected by an Infernal Enrapturesses Discordant Disruption (mortal wounds on a double)? Since it’s not a “roll”, but change dice to match highest...I didn’t see it in the FAQ unless I missed it?!? After rereading both rules, my thought is no, but want to be clear. Bladebringer on Exalted Chariot: Pungent Soulscent states “at the start of the combat phase”, if the bladebringer is affected by a KoS command ability to attack twice, do they get to use the Pungent Soulscent twice? My thought is no, you can’t use Pungent twice, but wanted to verify. Thanks everyone!!
  21. Since we are posting Ghorgon Kit bashed Keepers... love the Pendulum addition btw!
  22. Do you think the Masque is good for this situation as well? Have her pile in a corner of the unit to avoid, retreat and pole back in shenanigans?!?
  23. Correct, so to answer the original question, you CANT locus a unit after your Epitome fails its Horrible Facination. the order of operation would be: End of Charge Phase: Epitome triggers Locus of Diversion...pass or fail Charge Phase Ends Start of Combat Phase: Epitome triggers Horrible Facination...pass or faiL a unit can be under the effects of both Locus and Horrible Facination, however, you CANNOT trigger Facination before Locus as they happen in specifically different phases. Hope this makes sense??
