  1. Well except they didn’t say part one like GSG article had except they already reveal the new Tyranid model (parasite of whatever) just not officially
  2. TBF I though not AoS 2.0 tomes where good with it structure but it was just the writer not having an editor that create really bad balances amongst certain army, really if they had kept sub faction and spell lore/ artifacts where they where from last edition I think it would have been better then straight up downgrading option like they have. Really they just focus on too much of being cookie cutter. There does feel a lack of momentum right now and the stuff that Phil Kelly said during the 3.0 video really rings hollow now, like they wanted to balance the game with lower effort.
  3. No tyrant or BCR mounted hero though, in fact the Icebrow hunter is the only one based on a newer model which is Hrothgrom
  4. Surprise that with to two back to back Tyranids article they didn’t reveal the hero model especially since it’s a Monday. I guess it going to be a lot of Tyranid articles now that they finish up with Eldar.
  5. My experience has been mix it depends on who I play with and what kind of game we are playing. playing at 1000 pt is fine and quicker but stuff like Sons and even simpler stuff like max storm fiends and BCR are just terrible to play against unless you talior your list to counter them in someway. The best way to play at lower level is if both side agree to bring more balance army list and not to bring anything too agregious but sometime it hard when most people want to put models on the table that they want to see what they do. The Double turn and who get to choice turn order also more of decisive factor at lower level then it is in higher levels. I often find the first two turns order often decided who wins the game
  6. They are suppose to be release sometime in the spring according to the roadmap, summer is whatever the two mystery order and chaos tome are going to be, how big those summer release are is a mystery.
  7. One would hope but given how 40K still has Tyranids, CSM, chaos Knights, and now a Imperial Guard refresh in the rumor mill, one wonder how they fit AoS stuff in the next three months outside of battleboxes and tomes. That also not taken into account the leaked Horus heresy box
  8. Arena beastie when (probably not anytime soon) (that croc looks quite similar to the necromunda sumpcroc lol)
  9. Fomo boxes and disappointment is what await us. Unless there really is more Nighthaunt left unreveal I doubt they will reveal stuff past summer anyway since Autumn release are usually reserve for NOVA in September. adepticon is for whatever in the next three months (Necromunda Ash waste for example)
  10. Maybe I don’t think white dwarf are a great vehicle to be updating rules to begin with especially since it a limited publication and a good amount of people are unaware of them. it not like the three WD that Gitz got help them in any way either it a case by case basis. the best way would just be them release free PDF army updates every time they do a balance pass but they never like making big changes unless it’s monetize
  11. Eh I think their been less traffic on the forum in general in the last few year and took a sharp dive every since the pandemic hit and really there a lot of stuff going on in the world still. I don’t know why those are consider specialist army either unless you mean Kharadron is because they are all shooting
  12. i think the problem with me and the Nurgle books it has the same problem as the other book but it in artefacts and sub abilities (example is the GUO plaguewind, the spell lore, and sub allegiances) and a lot of stuff felt rush like Disease points or written quite badly. Yes, it is a thematic book, but it definitely felt it lack the quality of writing a premium rulebook product especially at the new price. that why i still kind of put it in the dud pile right now. i don't think lack of excitement is due to slow release because of pandemic since we are just slightly behind pace with one less book than the last edition rollout but really it just that GW is more focus on 40K at the moment and we just in a content drought right now. i think my problem with the edition is that it not really streamlines either way with the rules but it also gave up flavor and because more cookie cutter making it the worst of all worlds losing its soul. TBF the specialist game forum has always been dead even before the new edition, but i always attribute to the fact that there not much to discuss about (Warcry list building is actually even more bland and WHU is well very complicated or niche)
  13. I don’t know I read the new Nurgle book and I felt they made a lot of mistakes or where unclear on a lot of the mechanics
  14. Yeah but when has GW every align their release with TW or relate themselves product wise with TW. Also they do still sell Dark mechanicus units on FW unlike legion of Azgorh i assume the AoS version wouldn’t take any que from the game
  15. That assuming chorf every happen since they are in dark mechanic in level of they tease them in the lore every now and the. but here we are with them not being a thing still lol
  16. Nah don’t expect anything, it not a preview event and it Adepticon is right around corner so let not raise false hope on that event lol edit: we also probably would have known something by now since it literally happening today ( if your in the U.K. time zone)
  17. It was consider well written before a lot of fundamental changes with prayers and abilities but the real problem was undercosted unit, I know Strengthhammer has done well with the sister of slaughter build and stuff. The problem was that 3.0 screwed a lot of stuff and they didn’t change Morathi CA ability but everyone had the opinion that most DoK unit were viable except for the solo avatar just that it didn’t age well afterwards. the real problem is that they shouldn’t have release the book so close to the edition change because that book was not written with 3.0 in mind despite what they say otherwise.
  18. On topic of books, I think generally people like stronger books like Seraphon and DoK ( not counting that they should have adjusted Morathi CA on shooting twice with bow snakes by now) because the balance and unit plays were really good in those books even if there where some clearly strong choices ( Hag Narr is still strongest sub faction but the other ones are at least fun and stear you to different list building, like the one with sister of slaughter). It oppressive and also badly design books that people are generally not down on like the first Slaanesh book being screwed too much to summoning or maybe stuff like FEC gristlegore and OBR petrified elite where power level between that one specific sub faction and the rest of the book is bad but also both screwed the meta when they release. I generally think there a good balance between power level and unit choices since GW have shown they could do it but choice to give up trying to achieve it this edition so we end up with SCE battletome where they stack the power into Dragons, Longstrikes, and Fulminators and just called it a day and everything else is just whatever. granted people definition of strong book is very different, I yet to meet many people who say Slaves to Darkness is a good book (mainly because chaos warriors are so bad) except Warhammer weekly who say it one of the best book they ever release ( press X to doubt)
  19. Maybe for decade but it gotten really bad recently with DE and Ad Mech that GW where force or at least had to begrudgingly turn course with how they updated rules with update, so at least something must have happen to fundamentally change recently. especially now that they partner up ITC I would assume that they pretty much are more in the tournament scene that they are going to put more on the illusion of balance on both system now that they went into the competitive zone of the community
  20. i assume we just like arguing for the sake of arguing regardless of how it doesn't really matter since not one of our word would change the end result.
  21. I feel like this rule only really works well in 40K and Horus heresy because every unit tend to have a range profile so you have more opportunity to use it while AoS many units are melee only or probably have a wimpy range attack that can’t shoot back at your opponent anyway. that and each system has a different rule writing team so what the age of darkness team does is not always relate to what the AoS team does for rules
  22. True, I think it has to do with how Warcom write there article in AoS rules and then not really drumming up stuff to get excited for. Like if you show off the Magmadroth and Levadon battleline article maybe it better off to show the stat lines of their melee attacks and not their Niche range attack (the Levadon monsterous rampage is ok, just with out a fuller picture of any Levadon change it hard to feel it). Really it a lack of spice in the end. granted with Fyreslayer, I think them being where they are as an army and not getting anything new probably already kill the mood. I don’t think rule previews and new changes where going to help people feel more positive about them. edit: BoC had probably the most impactful change it has gotten in a while and Warcom didn’t promote or say a single thing about it.
  23. Depend, sometime knee ****** reaction have actually been true like with Slaanesh and Sylvaneath, other time the complaint is about something badly written despite the army still functioning like Nurgle of course I reserve judgement until man who read book release his video but I tend to be on the side that GW been going down on rule writing quality despite charging you a premium on their rule books edit: Knee J-E-R-K should not be censor and you can’t change my mind
  24. Tide tables where find, it was just high tide that people felt strongly about since It was combo too well when IDK had stacking buffs and everyone hated the activation wars. Forgotten nightmare it probably the rule that most people are wondering if they kept. I am not surprise Ash waste got delay since I felt like Specialist game are the one that would take the hit the most when it comes to delay. I don’t think it means GW are that far behind is just that the main games are likely to get prioritize over stuff like Necromunda and Adeptus Titanicus.
