  1. Nah, GW decided to just give us higher resolution versions of the portraits along with some of their lore, but who knows you might be right a full-reveal might be coming our way soon.
  2. GODDAMMIT, that's sneaky, I give them that. Oh well, at least we have a few lore snippets.
  3. Oh yeah, I recall someone mentioning that. You're right, if you check the table of contents on the GW website fighter cards (I don't play warcry, I assume it's the unit page) start on page 49 and daemons start on page 52
  4. Yup, it's there as well, also I'm really digging the Arabian nights theme Slaanesh has right now.
  5. Yeah, but I think it will be enough where GW have to reveal them now. This isn't like a slip of the page accident like the last one.
  6. Sent you a message. The models look really good.
  7. The model portraits look so good. Welp, cat's out of the bag, I expect a GW reveal by tomorrow at least.
  8. Yup. Slaanesh also tends to like using pride to corrupt people as well. It's why I find Slaanesh fascinating because he has so many layers, hence why in my opinion the new mortal range is exploring the many avenues of excess instead of sticking with one theme like some of the other gods. I've seen some people comment that the Lord of Pain doesn't fit the faction, due to the myrmidesh, but that's the point, they follow a different excess. Anyway, I'm going to stop now before I start rambling again.
  9. Slaanesh is basically Satan/Devil, it's kinda on the nose in my opinion, his ringed realm dealing with cardinal sins (minus wrath cause khorne, but it seems syll might be taking the vengeance aspect going by their story.), his sacred number is six and his sacred animal has bovine elements. Many tribes in both fantasy, AOS and 40k use snake motifs for him. Also Neverchosen covered the beauty part.
  10. I suspect a reveal might be incoming for that model if we're lucky. It got leaked.
  11. And that's where I would say AOS now has the advantage to make those sort of stories without using stormcast because it's a mythological setting. Just look a times of legend sigmar? A by the book myth story about a man rising to a hero and then a god. Look at real life examples, greek, norse myth etc . In the RPG for AOS you can get blessings from the gods and so on. You can do the reverse with a plain mook rising into an evil overlord within this weird setting. Chaos was just that back during the fantasy days, a warrior building his saga and so on, soon if his god likes him/her enough they become divinity or demi-god. Here's another example, I have no idea how well this book did but I haven't heard a bad word about it. (I think its great also.) People on even bolter and chainsword who prefer 40k also like the book and it was Gloomspite by Andy Clark. All of the main characters were pretty normal, but what the book does is show the fairy tale horror/myth around the goblins and their lore. It does it really well and it's only a tie in book for the model release. Plus we have the comments from Phil kelly who said that the reason AOS has no clear defined timeline ia because it's a setting based on mythology. Finally broken realms morathi, we've all seen people gush on the supplement but the narrative itself is not ground breaking. You have a demi-god rising to full godhood, heroes searching for a relic, cities falling and finally an evil god giving birth to a child/avatar. The reason why I think the supplement was so good because it uses its mythological themes to shake the setting, heroes and the small guy(anvilgard.) I could go on, but it's a rumour thread and this topic is veering off that.
  12. Josh reynolds did reveal that his soul wars book reached horus heresy numbers in terms of sales. Yes, it came with a new edition but it was a quality book that I would recommend. They can sell, yes, not as much as 40k but if the heavy weights put their names behind it and start writing novels I think AOS novels can bring in the cash. Ironically someone can correct me on this since my memory might fail me but eight lamentations was partly canned due to the poor sales. Josh partly wrote the book because people kept asking for normal humans. Now I'm going to shift to a different tanget, this is merely my opinion. What I find interesting for AOS is that the books that do well apparently are the ones that lean into the myth of the setting or its weirdness. Slowly, after reading Josh's tweets and him talking about the mercenary aspect of the job(since I want to be a writer), most people don't want to read about joe the farmer/soldier. You can use joe to ground your story somewhat but that's all. This issue goes far back to whfb books. Gav Thorpe and Josh Reynolds reveal save some of the gotrek books and times of legends none of the fantasy books earned back their money, they did worse than AOS books. The books that did well chiefly times of legend are pretty over the top high fantasy with grounded moments. I even recall what Josh said even on TGA "sometimes the numbers don't line up with what's said on the internet." Anyway enough of that, overall my opinion is this was a poor event. It wasn't a Black Library book celebration it was a 40k one.
  13. They don't need to write big series, single novels or loose connecting ones(like dark coil for 40k) can be written. It's telling many of these big author names haven't really wrote any short stories to explore their ideas or how to use the setting. I doubt the editors kick up much of a fuss with these authors. Still at the end of the day they are freelancers. Technically they don't have to write AOS if they don't want to. To me, it's just jarring to see a Black Library celebration and there are only two AOS novels.
  14. Yup you nailed it. Right on the head. Edit:In my opinion Josh was the major driving force for many of the AOS novels, again, my opinion his stories weren't all that formulaic. Plus the overall lack of AOS novels is concerning, It's now obvious to me the big names don't want to touch it for some reason.
  15. Eh, kinda boring my opinion. I think we are finally seeing the knock on effect of losing Josh reynolds.
  16. The image linked is actually the next part of the story from malign portents that I linked earlier in the thread. I'm glad someone found it, can't believe I did not think that it was in the hedonite tome. I may have to read it again to freshen up my memory.
  17. Looking at the cypher lords and the new Slaanesh models, I think they would make good conversion fodder. I could easily see a kitbash of the new wizard and the Cypher leader.
  18. Man... that model looks amazing. I wish this month would just be over already....
  19. The sentiment has been building for awhile I think. The reason why it's coming to a head now? I think it's a symptom of the fact that more than half the factions in 40k is some variant of power armour. In my eyes it's strange considering how huge the galaxy is and the fact space marines are meant to be a rare elite force despite the waves of releases. That's my view. The second thing that tipped things over and I think it's the main one in this context is Broken Realms Morathi. A lot of people play/collect both lines and have read the book, they're now comparing it with Psychic awakening within their circles, Psychic awakening left a bad taste in people's mouths, it did for me. So people are comparing the two and are now looking back to previous supplements for 2nd edition. This subject was also talked about on Bolter and Chainsword as well. Anyway, that's my opinion on the subject.
  20. Oh I definitely agree, I think it would be fun to see them in stories as they call others of their kind barbarians for getting off on far more crude and simpler pleasures. But it's interesting to see that they can also slip and turn into twin-souls.
  21. Vampire, definitely for sure. May is Ossiarch.
  22. They're aren't ascetic in my opinion, they're excessive in the sense their addicted to murdering people in contrived ways that's their indulgence. They just don't get off at bodily pursuits anymore, they're more obsessed with killing people in awesome and pretty ways.
  23. Sigvald lore article. Seems that he did return from the mirror. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/11/27/sigvald-the-magnificent-is-back-and-hes-brought-friends/
  24. I wish I could change my vote in light of the recent broken realm short story. If I could choose again I would go for option 4, a mixed army. Defenders of the realm theme.
