  1. They are still some good lists you can go for with tomb kings and have some good chances in the actual meta (still depends on the exact enemy). 

    Mostly looking like the one you posted, but there are more okish lists with hordes (warriors, tombguards, archers with queen, even an funny alpha strike big blob of skelleton horseman.) Not realy strong, but against the right enemy I even had a lot of fun with  a 2 x 6ushabti,  2x bone giant and necrotect build around list. n general I had a lot of fun usin my tombkings in age of sigmar and especially with the acces to Endless Spells and  realm artefacts (actually the one Goddin mentioned can be realy strong too when you roll high and bring some options for different needs to summon to the game.) I seldomly felt like there was nothing I could do in a game and most of them were actually realy interesting and even (Ofc its not the most competitive area ase you can assume seeing the lists I mentioned)

    There is also this fanmade Tombking Battletome, which is realy good and one could use those new units if wanted. I personally only used the given points from there for the 2 Battalions GW did and never gave points themselves. In friendly matches at least I  used them sometimes for good results.

    The List I had most succes though  is somewhat similar to the one you mentioned and I'd like to share it:

     

    Settra, General, Master of Black Arts (counting as Wizzard), Ethereal Amulet

    Tomb Herald, mounted

    Lich Priest, mounted

    6 x Necropolis Knights

    6 x Chariots

    3 x Chariots

    3 x Chariots

    Warsphinx (Desert Legion Keyword, is also buffed by Settra. Sadly no regeneration but is capable of doing some stuff and tanking 2 dmg attacks (because it halfs)

  2. With Mawtribes and the Update to 2.0 im pretty sure ironfist will be unmodified 6+. Since the points didnt change with GH2019 im also expecting more changes across the warscrolls. 

    Before you start building something i would wait for the Update. Or just use the ironfist alternatively as second hand weapon so you can have both options as needed.

     

    In the current state I'm joinin Jmason, because ironfists are kinda useless. A smaller squad holding a objective complety in cover might work sometimes, because it triggers on a 5+ then and still on a 6 with 1 rend, but is in most cases the worse option

     

    Always use the full command, because its for free. Champ gets an extra attack while the belower reduces enemy bravery. Im sure when we get the Update to 2.0 we can use 1 banner for every 3 man and the question will be resolved by this. 

    At the moment if the enemy has shooting you obviously go for the Banner for the 6++. Against Low- or No-shooting armies you can go for the skull. When combining ogors with ironguts backup, the ironguts banner already got the ability of the skullbanner in theirs included (although im not sure if they would stack. Rolling 2D6 per fleeing model, for every 6 runs another one might be funny and I actually never tried it.).

    Usually im no fan of recasts, but its slightly different when the original miniature is not available anymore. 🤔

    On Youtube there is one with 2 mammoths, but its rather old and both mammoths get torn apart by that FW Khorne Dragon. So not quite the view.. :D What Toy Mammoth do you have and how big is it? Usually the most you can find dont have the right size.

  7. You would have to bring 3 units of ironsworn or Another generic Chaos battleline. 

    I still dont See the worth in generic Chaos. Dark avenger was changed with aos 2.0. It only adds +1 hit for the General against order.  (Instead of +1 hit to units nearby)

     

    Crown of Commands is only 6" ignore battleshock. Might help a Big kdaai unit or some centaurs, but there are much better artefact options.

     

    There might be the usual Chaos battle trait combined with the command trait for 5+ to add One hit to a unit when it attacks 

     

    Using this ability on all units should procc sometimes, but i would Not rely on 5s.

     

     

  8. The only Good Thing about the Siege Garant is his save especially against Shooting, the ability to ignore Terrain and that he cant Fall down when charging. 

    But its 40 points more than the regular gargant and the dmg output is like 0. 

    I Enjoy my gargants some times, but i prefer the usual one. But they are both Not the best units :D

     

    Cant speak about the mammoth. 

     

  9. Im at Work right Now and cant get much into Detail, but something I've realised is that the sayls list, Sounds awesome in theory, but cant be used due to the ability says Pick One Friendly Slaves to Darknes Unit. 

     

    Sadly he doesnt Work on other Chaos units.

    But there is no faction which fits to the hellcannons Keywords.

    Except for everchosen, which can ally with "Chaos". Does this mean you can bring the hellcannon only there and in generic Chaos Armies? 

     

    Or can every Chaos army take these generic Chaos allies?

    Are there any ideas of Updates for the battletome?

     

    I mean its pretty clear Now After Ghb2019 that there wont be Any new Updates from GW.

     

    They only did put our Points from GHB2017 into the new pitched battle Profiles. So that we can still be played, but there hasnt been any sign of Updates. 

    I imagine those points are only still here because of you @Mengel Miniatures.  So are there any ideas for Updates? Switch some points, rework settras warscroll, put it all in a big FAQ, Let GW aprove it and we are good to go :D

  12. Is there any information about an update on the legion from Forgeworld?

    What would your wishes  be and what do you think about mine? We certainly wont get all of those or maybe even none, but here they  are:

     

    Traits:

    Blackshard Armor: Define the wound thing and is fine though. Including heroe phase would be awesome

    Burning Skies: Maybe sth to differ from the actual realm feature? 

     

    Leaders:

    Tau'ruk: can stay pointswise, but would be still ok even with +20 Pts. If he should go up, we might see him make bullcentaurs batteline

    Daemonsmith: I think he is perfect where he is

    Draz: First of all his Wound negation and reflect could work on everything, his spell could be a 7 (6 in aqshy or he could got get a general + 1 to cast and unbind there), double sword and horn attacks and a point reduction of 20. Thats all I hope for :D 

    BSB: Might let reroll all wounds, not only melee

    Castellan: 20 Points down, maybe 16" or more on his command ability

    Shartor: 20 Points down at least


    Units:

    Ironsworn and Fireglaives are ok I guess. Still missing the bomb dropin FG leader though. Is there any other unit with a worse champion than FGs have? 🤬 Maybe a bigger horde discount on  IS to keep up with the old points so 210/30 and a small one for the FG like 270/30

    K'daai: They should probally be like 160 pts instead of 140. The same horde discount would be amazin though. 4+ ethereal instead of 5+.

    Centaurs: Switch pointswise with actual kdaii from 180 to 140 including the horde discount (not that they are even near of profiting from a horde like kdaai). 

     

    Warmachines:

    Rocket launcher: 100 Pts.

    Magma Cannon: 120 Pts.

    Dreadquake: 140 Pts.

    Iron Daemon: 160 Pts.

    Skullcracker: is fine

     

    Battalions:

    Drop all for 20, rather 40 pts. 

     

    Endless Spells/Terrain Piece:

    I would go for a LoA terrain piece and endless spell from FW if  they should bring us to that status of the game (and probally even go for more from the other stuff with all those changes coming true 😂)

    The blackshard battalion is awful because you don't get the bonus if you pile in during combat phase. It also requires you to play a castellan and I'm not a fan of his rules. The artillery train is not that bad, but it forces you to play a daemon engine (I'd rather play a skullcraker) and it basically costs as much as an additional war machine. The centaur one is tricky and I had a hard time making it work against opponents who know it.

    A chaos sorcerer makes our units noticably stronger but it doesn't address the (relatively) slow movement+lack of flight of the centaurs.  Giving some rend or a slightly better save to the fireborn would make them way better than rerolling 1's. I'm not a fan of your example because your opponent evidently made a mistake.

    Sure we can use allies to compensate for our lack of mobility and we can take basically everyone except the skaven.  I think Kairos may be a good idea for example.

    We can't cancel MW with our battle trait, only regular wounds.

    To address some other comments: the castellan requires you to be within 12" during the hero phase. This is a huge problem as it is really telegraphed and can be dodge quite easily. IMO it would be an awesome ability if you could use it whenever you want for a phase. He doesn't really bring anything other than that.

    Of course I stack the LoA against the best armies since it's what you're going to play against in any tournament. As I said in my first comment, they're ok for casual play. I love this army and I won't stop playing it but it's not good enough for tournament play. If a good player with a lower tier army can win, they'll probably do even better with a stronger army...

     

    is there an FAQ for Legion of Azgorh? 

    I dont quite see why you shouldnt ignore MW (as long as it is the first wound in each combat or shooting phase)

    Also why you should lose the bonus from the blackshard as soon you pile

     

    I guess you are right about our Command points. Might need some luck in those games with that new triumph and scenery rule for command points :D

    And ofc a rend or a better save would be nice, but their save literally cant get better due to their warscroll rerolling ones is at least something. A rend would be awesome but with 60 attacks and 3" reach most of them will get their attacks in and its just about poppin that many saverolls. D3 Damage will do the rest

     

    Sure they cant do much about the strongest tournament lists, but they will do more than fine in the casual gaming area 

  14. - The new volley of shot can reroll hits of 1 for every shooting unit. Fireglaives got it already in their warscroll (when they stand still)

    - There is also the melee command ability with rerolling hits of 1 in combat phase and the rerolls for our blackshard battalion (still helps a bit)

    - Chaos Sorc buffing a big unit of 12 kdaai or 6 render and you've got a great smashing unit. Those just got charged by olynda, 30 chainrasp and 5 hexwraiths. They took 2 losses from the chainrasp and overkilled olynda and the hexwraith return. The next combat phase they finished those 30 chainrasp easily and continued destroying my opponents army from one flank through the other. In the end ive got even 5-6 left (and 2 fled to battleshock..) 

    -Others like Gutrot Spune + Blightkings for "fast movement". I bet there are some more allies which we can benefit from 

    - we do ignore the first wound in each melee and range unit (which can be also MW?)

    -i like all 3 of our battalions. Ofc the artillery (btw can you take the same battalion twice?) one is the best, but i see uses for the blackshard too. The bullcentaur one is kinda cool for meeting engangements

    Good point about the new units for compendium

    But Why do you Think it will be nerfs for TK? I rather hoped settras warscroll is getting an Update for 2.0 :D

    Yeah I was shocked back in the day when i read it. No offense intended - just sayin that the miniature of the destroyer doesnt fit the ruleset of a great taurus.

    I mean its the model FW turned the WIP Kdaai Destroyer into (and I am still sad about it 😅)
