    There have been rumors of skaven being the next aos starter faction for pretty much every edition. And If I remember correctly one of them was from whitefang, although I’m not certain about it and might be pointing fingers at the wrong guy. in theory there was then the so called eshin update that whitefang announced at some point in 3rd before our book came out, and personally this isn’t something we can blame-fault him specifically I would say. if I remember correctly he stated that skaven will be getting a small eshin update (which was sadly very small) but somehow that rumor got twisted into we are getting new gutter/night runners, edit: not by him of course better said, we skaven players took it too positive and started announcing things.

    Pretty much what @Gitzdeesaid. whitefang has been wrong in the past, while those times certainly have been quite few in numbers, skaven so far seemed to have been the majority of wrong rumours (although not just by whitefang)

    There is. While there are certainly tons of rumours stating the skaven will be the next starter, remember this isn’t the first time. we had those rumors in 1.0 for the new edition and it was the same for 2.0 when speculation started how 3.0 will look like. is it possible that skaven will be the mext starter faction, well it is highly, but that doesnmt mean that that will be the case. i have given up on believing in rumors about the skaven a few years ago, and while I don’t doubt the possibility of it being true I doubt in the certainty everybody brings with them when believing in that rumor. Oh I will be joyful if it is true😁😉

    I mean yes pretty great, although you could probably do the same thing on a unit of 60 clanrats: with the verminlord warbringer (if even encessary) will give them +1 to hit and to wound. give the gnash gnaw on their bomes and skavenbrew. and now we watch as the enemy takes 180 attacks with rend -5 to the phase

    Yeah although I’d think it be best to mention that the potential -5 rend is something this season most skaven units can get. Although clanrats are the cheapest option that can take full advantage out of it (in theory giant rats or slryre acolytes are cheaper, but truly they aren’t going to do more damage then maybe 2-4 depending how you roll in combat) Of course this is the case if plague censer bearers get a points hike in the next battle-scroll update. Although I’d take clanrats every day over those plague censer bearers just for the sake of fun and fluffy lists

    Thanks, I’ll take a better look at your suggestion tomorrow. But the few things I’ve sk far read are very inspiring. (Doing something entirely new might be an interesting thought)

    Well…. Officially you will pribably be better of with more clanrats then stormvermins, but I tend to go for the rule of fun, and if it is stormvermins you like I’d go for that. i too am a sucker for the elite horde and do prefer in my fun games to use a block of 30. 60 is something I personally haven’t dabbled with yet, but I might at some point

    Well… I think the mercs could pretty well work with mayba a hero being added. while the old mercs had a ton of units of renown (with some really cool lore) I don’t see why a book plus maybe the taskmaster or treasure master being a release wouldn’t be enough. and rules basically supporting units from all across the the races being combined i to one

    Nope. he was wrong when it came to skaven so I’m mostly just going to sit there and look what will be true and what isn’t. Mmhh.. true, although the lore that Verminlords are those older clawlords and other skaven that have earned the blessing of the horned rat always was kinda kept. just the fact that there will be an Avatar of the horned rat sounds incredible wrong. although that doesn’t mean a Verminlord or some other smaller rat pretending to be the avatar of the horned rat wouldn’t be possible. But then again Skreech (I) exist. Don’t think he’ll let that slight

    So a Friend suggested that I should try and send this home-brew faq to gw’s rule team (and likely won’t get a response) considering that, I was wondering if any of you guys have any opinions about this home-brew before I send it to them. ps: although there will be some grammar mistakes in Skaven faq (1).pdf

    Now I’m just baffled. i mean the possibility that the skaven are a starter faction for 4.0 is possible. consider that there aren’t many other faction at that point gw could possible update. although with possible also comes the possibility of telhe skaven not being the starter faction. secondly Avatar of the horned rat? either he means a new verminlord that for example shows a different aspect of the horned rat we currently don’t have (for example a techno verminlord or moulder creator verminlord, or maybe one of those silent verminlords that whereentioned for a short time in the book rise of the horned rat that function like some sort of guard in the shadow council)) Or he is just naming stuff to get views. in lore a avatar of the horned rat doesn’t make sense. his avatars are after all the verminlords. They represent his aspects with skreech (me) being his most favored one of the bunch Yeah I’m guessing he really wants to be noticed

    Mmmh I love that some of the new models are in these boxsets. but I’m not really a fan of the old skeleton warriors. at this point I’d probably would have enjoyed a return of the vampire count skeletons with an upgrade sprues for weapons and shield options

And those rumors also mentioned the skaven merc box being 2x3 (or just 2 individual) stormfiends with the new hero. and while gw has made some bad boxset this seem something so incompetent that even gw wouldn’t do Pretty much. although nighthaunt getting something seems likely the believable part, considering some of the rumors remind one of something ghostlike

    Yeah personally all of the verminlords look awesome. and if it wasn’t for a friend of mine I’d probably never would have gotten the chance of owning the warp-gnaw verminlord.

    If it’s not too late I’d personally go for the first one as I personally just enjoy gutter runners more then night runners. Also what happened here? seem like nobody has written anything at all for a good amount of time here. Hopefully much more will be talked-squeaked when the battlescroll update comes. ps: also a merry ratmas to all of ya
