  1. What an absolute U N I T. seriously, is that how big that thing is supposed to be? Because that looks like something out of titanicus!
  2. Sorry for the double post, but wanted to have a new notification to send just to see what other people think. I was looking through some bits online rather than doing homework, and I found some potential bits that could be fun replacements for the cow totems: some modification required, but a spartan helmet: https://www.shapeways.com/product/5NHR7LTSG/next-gen-spartans-helmets-x10-or-x20?optionId=149428714&li=marketplace a stormcast conversion helmet, but could work pretty well: https://www.shapeways.com/product/UT2YDEP4E/heaven-sentinel-helmet-2-generation?optionId=112186590&li=marketplace Puppets war hoplite helmet: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-50/all-bits/heads/hoplite-helmets.html Puppets war sentinel helmet: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-50/all-bits/heads/hunter-helmets.html puppets war paladin helmet: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-50/all-bits/heads/paladin-helmets.html and finally, some top knots for those other conversions I saw people put up: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-50/fantasy/bits/topknots.html no clue what the scale would be because these are obviously space marine helmets, but it may be able to work better than the totem.
  3. I love the mountain spirit and the hammers, but honestly the helmets are pretty bad. I think I'm going to replace the heads with some kind of hopilite helmets. i'm thinking either this: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-50/all-bits/heads/hoplite-helmets.html or this: https://www.shapeways.com/product/UT2YDEP4E/heaven-sentinel-helmet-2-generation?optionId=112186590&li=marketplace I just hope they are the right scale!
  4. All I know is I gotta eat crow. That giant cracked hammer wasn't part of a siege engine after all, just part of a siege cow! honestly I have to say, once Lumineth comes out there may be a bigger market for AOS parts on shape ways with alternate helmets. I have to say I'm willing to put in some legwork to make these guys better, and the ministry of silly helmets has it's own charm. I think that the Oxen guys are really cool too. They're animated mountains with giant hammers, and unlike some other units their hammers are not too bulky. besides... more people get killed by cows every year than by sharks, so a cow being a defenseless animal never really rang clear to me.
  5. I really love all this new craziness the aelves had. Really brings it to AoS! also can make some pretty funny jokes on it. _________________________________________________________ "I have existed for eons in your realm. I go by many names, and all thou has to do is choose one." "Stone Daddy" "Not that one" __________________________________________________________ "Hah! foolish spawn of Teclis! You are fighting in the Umbral plains of Gol-dash! there is no mountain for leagues for you to draw power from!" "don't worry, we brought our own" ________________________ Teclis: "Listen closely, my apprentices. In Addition to Wind, I shall teach you the many forms of our magic. for the Earth Element, we have mountain. For the Light and fire, we have Zenith. and for the element of water we have-" Aelf: "The Ocean aspect!" --ZAAAAAAAAAP-- Teclis: "Ahem. For the element of water, we have the River aspect of course. And nothing else."
  6. If this is taking place before the age of chaos then they had a long time to grow since then. I really wonder if the civil war was between Aelves and the spirits or between two factions of Aelves. I really don't think that the brothers would fight considering how much the gods hold grudges in this universe
  7. Maaaaaan are we sure Slaanesh is locked up? These elves are really bloody horny... all jokes aside I love the hammer Aelves. I will probably cut off the horns on their helmets because I have a thing against any piece of headwear getting in the way of swinging heavy objects, or just cut the bovine part off completely, but my heavens everything else about them looks awesome. I love the giant mountain bulls as well (and hey bonsai trees are hanging off a cliff) Kinda sad we don't have a dragon riding elf, but you know, a giant mountain spirit is pretty good too. and plus, it's not a stupid wraith construct like in 40k, powered by dead elves so i'm happy for originality! Overall I just want a generic captain model to add some roleplay to my army and create my own dude, but so far I'm happy I saved up all my money for this release!
  8. The Ministry of silly Helmets continue! Rejoice!
  9. yea, this was a pretty lackluster reveal. if you're going to play your cards this close to the chest... I'm just happy that there is a preview soon. sad to say that my hype went down a bit, going from reading the forum everyday to forgetting about it. kinda stinks. They could have at least shown off a terrain piece or something.
  10. well, I think we know what boon the mark of slaanesh gave him...
  11. So in order to remember how to play AOS I tried my hand at making a firelance ist. Didn’t come up with any artifact or anything, but I put together some things that look very fun and synergistic, while keeping some strong support of skink star priests and the like. What do you guys think? Didn’t come up with any relic or spell choices, but I was thinking putting the +1 to casting spell on the slann just to boost up the skink’s casting attempts, and big squads of 15 to have some wounds laying around for after the charge. Allegiance: Seraphon - Mortal Realm: Shyish - Constellation: Koatl's Claw LEADERS Slann Starmaster (260) Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (250) Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (210) - Warblade Skink Starpriest (120) Skink Starseer (140) UNITS 15 x Saurus Knights (300) - Blades or spears 15 x Saurus Knights (300) - Blades or spears 10 x Saurus Knights (200) - Blades or spears BATTALIONS Firelance Temple-host (160) ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Balewind vortex
  12. Fair enough! All I knew is that it was Grecian, so I automatically assigned it to Bronze Age. Still, point still stands that the helmets reminded me of Ancient Greek examples, which I think is fairly apt. and dang I love the hammerhal herald. I wish they advertised it more in the community.
  13. Well yea, that's nurgle winning the world instead of just adepticon. right now he just won a tournament.
  14. Honestly if someone came up with a 'qquarantined' adepticon where it was a gallery of people showing off their works it could help make up for the loss. one big, localized collection website rather than a forum gallery or something.
  15. So yea, as I said, pappa nurgle won adepticon by default this year. I hope GW recognizes how op his Corvid-19 list is and nerf the allegiance abilities in the next FAQ. I wonder what the next adepticon's going to be like...
  16. I was more thinking of the examples on the bottom of this pdf, which has that little curly portion on top of it, which the archers look like they have. Plus, though a lot fancier, they seem to have cheek guards too. but, I may be confusing ages myself, and not know when those helmets came into popularity http://hixenbaugh.net/otherfiles/Ancient Greek Helmets.PDF
  17. I know it’s poor taste, but I have to say it. Looks like nurgle won adepticon this year! i make jokes so I don’t feel the crushing disappointment. I was planning on going this year to look around and buy forge world stuff, but it’s the smart thing to do. It’s a long incubation period, and the game revolves around touching models and moving them around, as well as dice and other peripherals. It would just lead too much of a health hazard, and could spread it to not only other countries but to more remote towns and places without good healthcare.
  18. I’m 90% sure they are going to release something on the same day anyways, just to keep hype up. Nurgle May have won adepticon this year, but he cannot win against gamer’s need for more models!
  19. I just like how the helmet fits a Bronze Age aesthetic while in keeping with the Greco-Roman style of the troops and riders. i love how they are mixing this style with eastern stuff too. It really is a mash up of armies from ‘enlightened philosophie’ countries like ancient China and Greece!
  20. ...so buisness as usual then? Let's see if we can get another 10 pages before we get everything! But man, I was drooling over all these models today as I sat in my rome class. I didn't even know the teaser videos showed different angles too. I think the archers have gladi on their quivers too, which is a nice detail. I wonder if the hammer squad we'll be getting will be like the Kurnoth hunters, where different weapons mean they do different things. Still, I am eager to know more. It's going to be a long road to adepticon.
  21. I'm with you on loving the models. Even the baggy Aladin style pants have grown on me, and I can really see these guys in action compared to my idoneth or other armies. maybe because of the more simple nature of these foot soldiers, compared to the strangeness of the other armies. I agree with the paint job though. The Lothern White scheme doesn't really fit what we have seen so far all too well. I have to say I absolutely love the archers and the stonemage. Though, the quibble is how the bow would work in real life, I can accept the fantasy design of it more than if it was just a regular modern day compound bow. I love the stone mage now that I saw the rest of the model, and really hope we get more information soon on the abilities. my mind is awash with possibilities!
  22. I think there may be a disconnect between what you imagined in your head and it's style compared to what we're getting. some kind a 'Hype-nosis' where you have an image in your head, and when you think about what they will be to you then you get disappointed when you see the models. or not, I dunno.
  23. yea, the bronze age style helmets are not for everyone, but it still fits in with the greco-roman style they have going on. It's kind of interesting how their are melding ancient European stuff with what looks like asian influences though, I have to say I want more.
  24. I would imagine your neck gets tired sometimes! but hey, I did find that video of a longhorn walking into a petco without damaging the doors, so I imagine the blessed aelves could do the same thing. with a little practice! https://youtu.be/kMmpPwwfEWA
  25. I think that they probably just turn their heads just right in order to walk through doorways, or you know, take their helmets off before they go indoors.
