  1. Yeah they currently sell for 59.99 USD...which is silly for an infantry hero. And I assume GW will eventually get around to releasing them in a clamshell...
  2. Ha, yeah, this seems far better. I guess that was my point. Getting 800ish points of free dudes seems nice, but there are probably much better strats to take advantage of. Yeah, once I saw the prices (and that GW hasn't released a stand-alone kit) I just decided I'd be kitbashing my archregents anyway, whether I'm using 1 or 6.
  3. Yeah, if you stand all your archregents next to a throne they can all poop out their mans turn one for no points. Not necessarily going to be the best strat every time, but it is possible. Also in a list like: 4 x Archregent 4 x Terrorgheist 1 x Throne It takes you from fielding a 2000 pt army to a 2800 pt one in like one second flat. And supplements your monster mash with 80 chumps that you can send off in four different directions. Not sure if it's great, but it seems "good"
  4. Has anyone tried playing a 4 archregent 4 terrorgheist Gristlegore list? I feel like crapping out 800 pts of ghouls for free turn 1 seems good...but I am not sure if giving up the utility of certain delusions or battalions is worth it...
  5. Oh no doubt. I mean those D5 claw hits are absolutely nothing to shake a stick at. The KoS, when it gets even mildly average rolls, is going to ruin an enemy's day.
  6. It's almost as if they want the army with the shiny new battletome and models to do well in the stream all their customers are watching... (I am being a bit snarky, but when you used the words Skarbrand and Archaon in the same sentence as "Khorne army" I know you're not talking about a serious/well-composed list.)
  7. Holy excess...140 US for the KoS? GW must be having a laugh... EDIT: I am even more pissed than I was when I first saw this. It is literally the same size/base as the LoC but they are charging us $25 more just for fun. I was so ready to make a huge order at my LGS and now I am not going to bother. The Fiends are reasonably priced for their kit size, so it's clear they just went for a cash grab with the KoS. Old GW isn't completely dead it seems.
  8. Yeah, I mean I guess my point was they are converging. GW KoS is getting a new model, better statline, new abilities, etc, etc. It is also the size and general look of the EKoS but better. So basically I doubt the rules will be very good, different, or independent. And I don't have a problem with that really. Your mileage may vary.
  9. No offense to anyone who is all about them, but the FW greater daemons are all pretty awful sculpts in my opinion. The Bloodthirster has like 35 pounds of resin tacked to its back that they are calling "wings." I actually think the KoS was the least offensive, but it's still not great. The new KoS is pretty clearly (in size, pose, sculpt quality, etc) meant to usurp not only the old GW KoS (a truly sad model by modern standards) but also that FW Exalted KoS. It doesn't surprise me that the FW one is getting sidelined/outshone. I think its time has come and gone. Just one hedonist's opinion.
  10. I just wish they weren't literally impossible to transport without breaking...even if they had amazing rules I'd still consider not bringing them to the LGS. This is my only gripe about the new prince/herald combo as well...looks amazing, rules actually seem good, impossible to transport.
  11. *Chef kiss* Apparently Slaanesh hates spells more than Khorne these days.
  12. Excellent, thanks for that. I was unaware of this resource.
  13. I know I bring this up a lot, and I already told GW in both the previous and most recent BIG Surveys...but they REALLY need to get all the rules, FAQs and errata into a searchable online database that is updated/maintained regularly. In fact I would be perfectly happy to pay monthly for access to it, especially if I got access to all the battletomes, etc. The fact that they have started doing regular FAQs and commentaries and stuff is definitely AWESOME. But the information is not super accessible. I mean it often confuses me, I forget where I saw an errata or FAQ, and I am a veteran player. I can only imagine how it is for people who are new to the game... It should not be a baseline requirement to get into the hobby to have to memorize 10-15 locations where there are additions/changes/commentary to the rules that affect your army.
  14. Yeah true. I mean basically it's not going to catch the same (savvy) opponent twice. But it will make them have to do a bit more thinking than usual, which is USUALLY an advantage.
  15. I think they were referencing that the enemy hero must be within 1" of the unit they are going to do MW to...which is true, but it certainly will make your opponent agonize a bit over positioning...because for a hero to be effective they often have to be quite close to the combat.
  16. I mean I would say yes. It says equal to the attacks characteristic. To determine that characteristic for some weapons you must roll. This artefect is crazy strong...free mortal wounds that don't require a roll and lots of mind games for your opponents punishing their bad positioning. I like it. Very Slaanesh.
  17. Man...so much here to wade through. And everything looks baseline "good." Special mention of the Whip of Subversion which gives the opponent the unenviable choice of breaking up that one unit and the hero they need for support or just handing you like 4 free mortal wounds average (I can't think of many heroes who don't have at least a 4 attack weapon on their profile). Or even better, since both its ability and Locus of Diversion happen at the "end of combat"...and based on that in-depth article they published several weeks ago that means that on your turn you get to choose the order things happen at the "end of combat"...so if they have two heroes next to each other you can Locus one of the heroes (the most dangerous one) and likely have the other hero kill it with mortal wounds before it can attack. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/03/21/who-fights-first/
  18. We discussed it a bit above, seems there is another piece in the video that is obvious scenery. I honestly feel like the little snakey tentacle things on this one make it seem like it might even be mobile. I am excited to find out!
  19. It wouldn't be that much of a rework really. And it would make sense to do such a reorganization when dropping a battletome. I guess we'll see.
  20. I certainly hope we get at least one more battle trait as you are correct, the two we have feel a little anemic. And I also certainly hope they rework or fix the host abilities (and it seems they will), I mean if only because one of them is currently actually useless. But these types of changes have been par for the course with other armies that finally received a battletome, so I assume we will get approximately the same treatment.
  21. Yeah, I thought the double herald piece was terrain at first too until I saw the above piece in the video. Unless we are getting two terrain pieces? That could be kinda cool I guess... Also based on the design I hope that piece from the video's sole job is to summon KoSs!
  22. I was going to say...as if we needed more mobility...but it would be kind of cool to have yet another way to vomit highly mobile daemons at people. Also, I am excited to see the rules differences between AoS and 40k. They only really mentioned the AoS battletome in the article, but I imagine many of these models will get 40k rules as well.
  23. Any speculation about what the two heralds on the portal is?
  24. Honestly I love bits and pieces of these models, but I hate almost all of them in totality. I just do not like the "new" GW aesthetic. The poses are so weak. That being said I am stoked to harvest the bits to make my own Slaaneshi goodies. That daemon price is a GREAT base for conversion. And the KoS is good for size and bulk, but will need to be heavily worked on. All in all exciting.
