  1. Talking about stormvermin, how do they fare in AoSv2 with the new CP system (warlords, seers, verminlord, thanquol etc...). Ive got 40 stormvermins but I boxed them ages ago because I just couldn't put them to good use on the battlefield compared to multipurpose units (cannons, skryre toys, warlocks...) How do you use them? Otherwise, is there something cool I could convert them in? I saw them being used a lot for 40k (adeptus mechanicus or genestealers) but I'm not sure I want to start 40k. Gutter runners perhaps? Thanks
  2. But if you're willing to take the clanrats battle line tax, is the skryre allegiance still worth it? For the price of an arkhspark, a gascloud and a warlock you get two cannons more. Is anyone running skryre with chaos GA and what is your feedback on it? Cheers
  3. So which list did you settle on finally? Is the warpseer your only source of screen, and, if so, is it enough? Cheers
  4. I only have the general's handbook and I feel it's enough to play my Skavens (I play all clans but pestilens). The GHB has all the updated allegiance abilities and point costs. The warscrolls are online for free (most of them). If they one day release a Skaven battletome, I might reconsider, though However, to play skirmish you would need the skirmish book. Cheers
  5. Also make sure you give your stormfiends warp-grinders so that you can pop them and also skitterleap a packmaster onto them afterwards for a tasty buff
  6. Lol that is insane. A flagellants Moulder clan...
  7. Picking a Packmaster as you Moulder representative seems efficient. It will buff the stormfiends For Pestilens, plague priests are awesome Your "council of 6" heroes could be Grey Seer, Warlord, Arch-Warlock, Skaven Assassin, Plague Priest, and Packmaster. They are all amazing foot heroes, so not very large on the battlefield though. But they all have good stats and abilities. You could even model them with some common signs showing they belong to the same council Or put the grey seer on the screaming bell and hide all olthe other heroes behind, in between clanrats. "Everyone chills behind the bell". Inspiring... I might do it myself as well
  8. I think it will only make the d6 on a 5+ if you whip the packmaster. Even then, I'm not sure it will work because sword of judgement says "if the hit roll is a 6+". You would be hitting with the whip on a 2+, but would the range of the sword of judgement also be increased? I don't know. Other than that, good to see some moulder list Some ideas perhaps: an allied plague priest would extend the rang of the rat ogors wounds (and therefore hits). Perhaps the list may also lack sone long range sniping but you don't have much space left. Cheers
  9. I still see value in the skryre battle lines. 3*20+ clanrats is quite a tax when you're taking covens. At 1k, 2*20+ clanrats is quite a tax too.
  10. At least it seems more thematic than hiding it in the robe of some arch warlock Do you guys think that if we have several warlords we could still buff one jbit several time? Does the "this command ability" refers to the specific warlord's one, or to gnash gnash their bone ?
  11. I'm wondering why is Skaven being nerfed so hard? Verminus, Skryre, Pestilens, Eshin... Only Moulder is left untouched! Surely a conspiracy from Clan Moulder to run the council of thirteen. We will take revenge, yes-yes
  12. At call to glory cancon 2018 someone played a similar list and placed 33rd http://heraldsofwar.com/documents/cancon-2018-lists-chaos.pdf
  13. Hi, from what I've seen in tournament results, and the feedback from peooleon this forum, you have two main options to be "competitive" - max the clanrats out. Like 200+ of them... Cap objectives and watch your opponents' despair in front of so many wounds to slay. - go skryre (see the other topic). Plus you won't have to paint plenty of clanrats Cheers
  14. I just realized that the counter effect of the warpstone spark was reduced from D6 MW to D3! I played a game a few days ago on v2 but did not notice this change. Sure enough, my arch-warlock used a spark in the first turn, failed the test, and inflicted on himself no less than 6 mortal wounds!! Welcome to skavendom... He would have survived under v2 allegiance :
  15. I was thinking of the Verminlord Warpseer to bring mobility in form of using its command ability twice each turn to generate some giant rats?
  16. Also I might be tempted by trying this list: - arch-warlock general - overseer of destruction - warlock engineer - vigordust - warlock engineer - vigordust - Verminlord Warpseer - ally - clan skryre battallion: - Gascloud: 3 stormfiends, 2*5 acolytes, 3 poisoned wind mortars - Gascloud: 3 stormfiends, 2*5 acolytes, 3 poisoned wind mortars Total: 2000 But how do you think the atormfiends should be equipped?
  17. Wow OK, I get it, you're using the warpgnaw verminlord to teleport the other verminlord as well. I completely missed this warscroll change. You convinced me with your first list then It sure looks better than thanquol+deceiver then LLet us know how it goes
  18. Hi I'm not sure your packs of 20 clanrats or your 3d6 giant rats per turn would do anything to the behemoths if your goal is to take them down (instead of playing the objectives). The verminlords won't do much either I'm afraid? Other things that could be tried: - verminlord deceiver, thanquol, 2*20 rats, endless spell? - 3 warp lightning cannons (skryre of chaos allegiance) with some chaff - 160 clanrats, a warlord, and extra: what could behemoths dealing a few mortal wounds even do against 160 clanrats???
  19. Hi,just wondering if anyone has already considered running a Soul Grinder in a skaven chaos list? It could give mobility plus I can totally see it converted into some giant Skryre/Moulder Verminlord
  20. Oh OK I think I get it. I was not aware of that rule, thanks So if, for instance, I face Skryre, I can snipe one stormfiend and end up killing two if they are lined up...
  21. Except against models with mortal wound saves and special defensive rules, why is it not only a worse version of a thrower? (Chance of doind lg d6 wounds, 12" instead of 9", unbindable). If you don't roll higher than the model wounds, it doesn't even do anything.
  22. Matter of personal taste I personally like having my heroes on 25mm because it makes me feel they are just rats among rats. Easily stabbed a replaced yes-yes! But at the same time the heroes models do look more powerful/cunning/muscular than the battlelines ones so even if they are on 25mm base, I feel that they still look more deadly. Eg my games day warlord below is based 25mm and using the same basing technique as my clanrats, but I feel it still looks way more deadly.
  23. I've got 40 which I rarely play too... Plus I find them horrible to paint because each is as detailed as a hero... I guess they ll have to gather some more dust
