  1. I can answer that. GW already build some hype with his book/white dwarf shirt stories, Broken Realms and even as easter egg for some books in early 2d edition. He is part of the Duardin race, but don't get me wrong, a commemorative model is awesome, but a playable unit is a must.
  2. Disagree. The only issue with this Grombrindal is that he should be permanent and have rules for Kharadrons and Fyreslayers. Btw, a new admiral is a welcome adition but still, a missed opportunity.
  3. Let's wait and see. The system already supports specializations, USR are so open that each heroe or special/magical weapon could be really unique and interesting without being crazy. As an example: #DuelistHeroe: USR: Anti-Heroes (mortal). Parry (ability). Passive/ Fighting Phase: Can't be hit with a better roll of 4+. Even artifacts and weapons can be really unique with that.
  4. Anything that let your character be diferent than a "completely generic one" is an small step to be "your dude". I'm all for it, but it seems that AoS is not ready for that little step. Yeah, I know, but it's not an option here. Pick up games (maybe 1 in a month) is what I have.
  5. Sadly, AoS is not designed to build your dudes.
  6. With the USR and abilities, I hope that GW find a way to make Heroes more interesting. Btw, I'm sad that there is no Challenge command.
  7. I never played LotR. And I didn't mean to say that I want Superheroes, I just pointed out that other games, with similar stats and a few abilities, can have a lot of diferent heroes that feel completely unique. 4oS has Abilities and USR with a bunch of stats and characteristics, it should be enough.
  8. Just to add something of interest. There are A LOT of games that, without using SvsT, their heroes have enough tools and stats to be diferent and unique enough. Btw, I don't have problem with S vs T.
  9. There is a lot going on with the chants/prayers, without being boring. Most of the time, you want to have at least 1 powerlevel ready with the most advanced wizzard because you don't want to see an sneaky Magical Intervention at the end of the turn (Unbind is a reaction). I'm not sure that I understand abilities with this wording: Does your unit gain the same keywords as the main original ability? If that's the case, it will not be legal to Counter-Charge after Redeploy. If not, the Counter-Charge Ability will be a gamechanger in the hands of skilled players.
  10. From how it is written, the Priest is the one that gains the ritual points. So, I think that you are right about how this works. Priest (2) seems to be the soft spot for chanting shenanigans.
  11. That's in their packs, aka, Index. Wait for the battletome first, and then whe can start complaining
  12. I'm with you. I can't wait to learn more about the game.
  13. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that Armies of Renown are still a thing in 4.0. Maybe Big Waaagh will become one of them.
  14. I need to see more warscrolls, but it seems that Wizard (1) let you cast or unbind 1 spell. That seems a nice mini-game with some important decisions to make. Btw, I'm not sure that I understand how prayers work. So, I try to chant a 4 ritual points prayer, I roll 1D6 and get a 4. My army then has 4 ritual points. Then what? The prayer is answered (needs 4 ritual points) or can I store all this ritual points to go for a 8+ chant effect? Being accumulative, can I use other priests to make a bigger pool of ritual points?
  15. I don't know what to expect really. Maybe "Shoot in combat" for our pistols? Some Anti-infantry (rend) for our volley guns? Even with reduces rend and range, USR could be enough to make our weapons effective for some targets, and we have A LOT of weapons.
  16. Let me tell you about Kharadron Overlords...
  17. I'm all for it. Since early 2017 that we have hints of cross-faction "people", from that Orruks that work on some free cities, Ogors following Kharadrons and even Malign Portents campaign had a Fyreslayer's lodge "fighiting" side by side with Nighthaunts. Miniatures and Lore are done, we only need rules.
  18. I prefer Turnip approach: 1" for all models and a fixed distance between the models all of them (turnip28 has 8") in the same unit. AoS is a little bit more tricky cause there are a lot of diferent bases and a range of 3 to 20 models for each unit. But I wound't mind to see a new "stat" on each warscroll to fix that (like Malifaux bases/size on each card).
  19. Or maybe they focus on things thar they like (not me, I usually cry about stuff that nobody gives a f).
  20. Edited! Btw, I'm with you that 5 diferent weapons with their own special rules is not the best experience to have.
  21. As a Kharadron Overlords player, this rules is AWESOME. yes, all my untis are ranged units, but I asked for this since first edition and I'm glad to see it. It hits right between strategy, fluff and of course, the fun of playing AoS. And that's exactly what I want. I'm 100% with this. A los of space between units means a lot more opportunities to make plays. Grouped up units is fine even if it will be hard in the first games. I still miss something that promotes charging, even if your unit doesn't have a weapon with the charge USR.
  22. There is no "wrong" or "right" about this. You are not wrong, you just have diferent preference.
  23. Imho, that's exactly what I expected. Edite: Any teaser about what are we going to see for 4oS today?
  24. Unless they retcon the whole Karl Franz era: The Great War against chaos will be the nu'End Times!! BOOM
