Can you give a named character (durthu for an example) command abilities and artefacts?

What about Brokk in the KO book? Their command trait section just  says 'if they are a hero...'

Yes - the new Warscroll Spirit of Durthu. 

Prior to the Sylvaneth book - no - the old version was indeed a named character.

So you cannot give Nagash an artefact (just to be clear).

Ah legend thanks for that - though I play against durthu a bit and he is brutal with items (mate gives him +1 save and ignore -1 rend)!

The Books state exactly who can have artefacts and who not.

Arielle and Drycha can  not

• Brandwhych
• Spirit of Durthu

Those are all generic heroes not characters (despite Durthu literally having a name inside of is name).

• Drycha
• Alarielle

These are named characters.

Named characters can never use artefacts or Command Traits

Only your general may have a command trait, and only if you do not have  named character as the general.
