Empire Head Swaps

The first picture shows a test conversion done with an Empire State Troop body and arms, and a head from the Perry Miniatures 'Mercenaries' box set. The second picture is the same model, but the head is replaced with an ordinary State Troop head.

Is the Perry head too small? Or rather is the State Troop head too big? C&C appreciated.

Also, if you know of any good Empire head swaps do let me know. Thanks!

EDIT: The head looks deceivingly large on the torso. Check out the third picture for a more realistic comparison, side-by-side.

So the second picture is the model with the head it's supposed to come with? Because it looks a little too big on that one!

Perry bits look great on freeguilders. Someone on Warhammer Empire did a bunch of conversions back in the day which are worth a look.

Could you link the post? I did get a box of Perry models, but so far I've found the heads to be small and the arms too short, compared to the GW figures. The head I posted seems good but many of the other Perry heads, especially un-helmeted ones, are too small. If someone's had success with Perry units I'd love to see them!

I honestly haven't seen it in years.  I'll have a look when I'm back in France and see if I bookmarked it on my old pc but Google will probably get you there faster than me.
