Arkiham
I'm absolutely astounded that this isn't a thread on this site or on the games-workshop community website, (or one ive yet stumble across) with the weath of successful organisers we have. As someone who is slowly considering becoming a TO I'd love to have a place with a repository of knowledge on how to plan, set up and run a tournament, and to have a place to goto for support on issues so we can introduce more local tournaments to people and hopefully turn them into successful tournaments, which run as long as the Sheffield slaughter, or become as renowned as the SCGT . So, with help perhaps we can start one ?
GRex
Great idea. The only resource off of the top of my head was Garagehammer's Podcast Episode 143. Dave Witeck interviews Alex Gonzalez on running a one day event. http://garagehammer.net/2016/04/episode-143-running-a-one-day-event/
Siegfried VII
Well my Club has a long History of organizing team tournaments. We call them "Guild Wars". What we basically do is come up with the rulepack, contact the various clubs near us and then we team up with a local retailer shop to aid in the endeavour. The best way nowadays to get the info out is to use the facebook and notify local gaming clubs or individuals at the beginning and then the word of mouth should kick in...
