Fellwater - Community Create a Sub-Faction

When it comes to cool models, it's hard to top both models with the Fellwater tags. Both the Troggoth Hag and Fellwater Troggoths are top notch, and something I'd like to field some day. But it leaves me wondering, why the specific tag of Fellwater? Do they plan on making those two models, plus some new models not yet released into an entirely new sub-faction A la Ironjawz?

What even is a Fellwater? A place? A type of water? A mineral drink sold by 50 Cent? What is the logical direction to take this sub-faction? Maybe an entire range of Fellwater Troggoths, from little baby Troggoths (think Nurglings), a king Troggoth (something with a Fellwater specific command ability), or even Fellwater Troggoth Beasts (cavelry-esque quadruped Troggoths). Where would this Fellwater be located, and what would its general theme be? The nastiest swamp in all the realms? Someplace Nurgle has his eyes on? What drives these creatures, what's their back story? So many questions.

With these thoughts on the table, I want to put it to the community to speculate on GW's plans for these two models, possible future models, and this sub-faction tag. What would you like to see? And if it was up to you, how would you create this sub-faction.

I think at this point it is either unlikely or very distant future. I recently asked on a livestream how long it takes for an idea to become a model in regards to the new Tzeentch kits and the reply was around 4 years.  With that in mind if they do intend to do something with the troggoths I think they will be very close to the back of the queue as we have a lot of factions yet to appear or to be fleshed out.

Firebellies and Gargants are in the same boat as they also have unique keywords.

I do however agree, I love the models and the rules and would love to see a troggoth army lead by a Troll Hag able to be fielded in matched play. However if you are playing games just with friends or in a local campaign then there is no reason why you cant flesh out Fellwater as an area and write some seriously good fluff yourself . I for one would love to see your vision of the place and the Troggoths background.

Personally I am believing that the books are getting touch too specialised; it would be good to see armies that use multiple tags together for different reasons (for example, combining Greenskin's and Ironjawz, so that there is the option to either run a fully elite force, mix match of elite with some mooks that have shown up to the fighting or something. Being extreme militants, I would have thought Ironjaw warbosses of all fellas wouldn't mind working with other forces, long as it's propa clear 'ho's da boss 'ere!)

It would be cool to see fellwaters worked in, I kind of think that the savage urrks would make a good pick, they might hunt most big beasties, but perhaps some monsters are actually embued enough with the essence of gork (or maybe mork) that they essentially act as prophets.

Oh boy do I love me some trolls!!!

Troggoth are definitely in need of some hot steamy GWs love, as are bunches of other factions. they still have metal models for Gorks sake!!

The fellwater models are not that great imo. They are very goofy, cartoonish and have strange anatomical properties. This is probably the allure for some, just not me.

The Forgeworld Hag however is an amazing sculpt imo. It's got just the right size of muscle mass in all the right places. Not tiny little stick arms and shoulders coming off of a great fat body. It has the perfect blend of silly and terrifyingly beastly that a Troggoth should, especially a matriarch. I'm REALLY hoping that GWs follows this design choice when making new sculpts.

As far as expanding on the faction goes I'd much prefer troggoth to take a more free agent approach or concolidated with Grots in some way as elite heavy hitters.

In a similar vein to how the age of chaos has bred a larger and more elite breed of orruk in the Ironjawz I'd like to see the same effect applied to troggoth. Not the same size as the hag nor as small as the fellwater but like on par with Morghast. Two larger models, instead if three smaller ones, that just reek of raw, beastly, burly sour breath and rock gut goodness. That way if a full sub faction is made then fellwater can be battleline perhaps

Total war: warhammer has some great looking and size appropriate troggoth (trolls) in that game. Hoping that spills over onto table top designs.

Just one troll lovers hopes and dreams.
