Objective Markers size.

A quick question from recent tournament. 

 

Marking objectives what size should they be and where do you measure from. 

Myself ive always measured from the middle of the objective but others measure from edges.

I always measure from the edge. I was thinking of using the AoS hero bases (40mm ones). Are they too big?

You can make objectives what ever size you want but i wouldnt make them larger than a cavalry base. From there i think measuring from the middle of the objective is best as measuring fro. The edge could give armies like mine an unfair advantage, and make these combective excesingly sifficult to protect.

 

Though even in competive play i dont think this matters too much as ling as you and your opponent talk about it before hand.

I myself and all tournament's i've been to its measured from the edge of the marker.  

Most tournament have an object size written down in their tournament rules

if not stated in the tournament pack i think its importent you and your opponent discuss it before the game starts.

otherwise during gameplay it might turn in to a rather unnecessary discussion.

I like using Terrain as objectives, makes it more cinematic than fighting over a circle on the ground

I use 40mm bases and measure from the edges. As far back as I can remember this has been a fairly standard way people have played objectives, way back to 4th/5th edition 40k.
