demonlizardfromouterspace
Hello Skaven players! How do you write your army lists? Do you chose a clan and stick to it or do a more old school WFB style army with abit of everything? Do you think it is worth do play Pestilens/Skryre etc only? Kramer
I personally feel the subfactions offer me to little variation. Fluff wise, aesthetically and playwise. So I start with a core of verminus (need those battlelines) and add the models I feel are cool or effective.
Darth Alec
The only real skaven factions you can play ATM are Pestilens and Skryre. The others simple lack the units to be playable. So go either Skaven (all), Skryre or Pestilens.
Nico
It's normally not worth sticking to sub-faction as there are ample inherent battleline units - the only exception would be if you're running the Clan Skryre formation. Verminus are highly viable. See for example here:
Darth Alec
Flying Doom Rats! Looks like an amazing army, but not really pure Verminus.
demonlizardfromouterspace
I wonder if GW will releaser further clan specific Battletome like they did with Pestilens. And if any of these finally get new stuff! Most likely candicates would be Skryre or Verminus..
polarbear
Mentally I still prefer the grand Skaven alliance, old school style, but the fact that only clanrats count as battleline hurts my interest in going that route. I wish you could get a little more diversity in there. I'd like to see the battleline rules in general given a bit more options. Say an all-skaven alliance could have 1 unit of monks, 1 unit of night runners etc. count as battleline. I said this in the rumour thread but I think GW could do an awesome Eshin army now with their model tech. Only thing is they don't seem keen on redoing kits, so we're probably stuck with the monkey nightrunners forever. However, a shifty ninja skaven army would be right up with the AoS style, I think.
