lare2
Quick question, what exactly is a commander when building detachments? Are they just any hero? Or do they have to be your general? Related to that, could you run a commander and have a subcommander as your general? Thanks in advance.
3 Warfiend
A Commander describes any unit with the Leader battlefield role A Sub-commander describes any unit with the Leader battlefield role with a wound characteristic of less then 10. Nowhere does it say that a Leader with a wound characteristic of less then 10 can't be a Commander. Nowhere does it say that a Commander must be a General or vice versa; your general doesn't have to be part of a battalion if you take a battalion for your list. Ps: I know I answered more then you asked but I figured I'd make it clear Edited July 9, 2021 by Warfiend
0 Urauloth
Anything with the "Leader" battlefield role, unless I'm missing something. If your general has the right W stat to qualify, there's no reason you couldn't have that model take up a subcommander slot in a core battalion. It's a little odd thematically, but it seems fine rules-wise.
0 lare2
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I'm so used to running apps for list building I always forget about battlefield roles.
