Easy Wanderers conversions?

I'm currently deciding which Order army I want to collect - something with a theme but probably not a single faction. At the moment I only have the starter set, and while I do like Stormcasts, the Aelf factions are jumping out of the book waaay more for me, especially Wanderers. However... totally not a fan of the current Wanderers character models - they do look great in the book, but they seem like old-school models where how good they look is totally dependent on the painter being able to add detail. In my hands would look like Hot Garbage. Just 5 minutes ago I bought Mistweaver Saih and Tenebrael Shard (from Warhammer Quest) off ebay for £6 each - such awesome models and exactly the sort of look I love. Anyway... I was wondering if anyone knows any simple plastic conversions I could do to other models to recreate the Wanderers heroes in a slightly better looking / more modern / easier to paint way? Thanks to the new Death Masque set, Eldar Harlequins are £12 for 6 on Ebay - seems like they would be an easy starting point? No idea where to get the heads, bows and close combat weapons from though (very new to AoS and totally missed last 22 years of WFB). Was also thinking dark elf Sorceress as Spellweaver - just change the top of her staff?

Converting models is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. It can be as easy or difficult as you want it to be. It is probably a good idea to start with something like a weapon stap before going all out and sculpting parts with greenstuff. But if your just starting I'd recomend first getting some standard wanderer units. That way you've got plenty of leftover bits. Don't just buy models because they're cheap, but start with a clear idea what you're character should look like. Try Google and pinterest to find examples of converted wood elves. And take a look at all the wonderfull project logs on this forum:)

Harlequin bodies, with the heads and weapon hands from Wanderers but also mix in the Wanderer bodies with either spare weapons and heads from both the Harlequin set and what's left on the Wanderer sprue.

Usually for kitbashes like this, weapon swaps are done by cutting the weapons at the wrist and working to hide the join if required with a little greenstuff. With practice you can also swap at the elbow or shoulder depending on the detailng required.
