Tzeentch sc 1k challenge

Hey, anybody who is reading this! I am going to buy a Tzeentch start collecting for aos to introduce people to the game, getting my main army to be the rival (or I could play Tzeentch against it). I would like to build a 1k points list using all of the start collecting models to avoid wasting money, but I am very new to the army and haven't seen anyone taking the chariot anywhere, for example, so I wanted to see if maybe any amazing souls would be able to help me. I really love the Curseling model and would like to include it if possible. Not looking for anything competitive, just something to have fun and introduce the game with possibilities of some synergies and tactics. Is this too ambitious? What other models should I buy besides the box? Thanks for any tips, love the community, cheers!

If you are introducing people to the game then being points efficient isn't really a huge issue because in intro games winning isn't really what's important and against beginners even a moderate list will do decently well because they are new to the game and thus apt to make loads of mistakes.

The real trick is avoiding any power-lists - ergo lists that work really really well for you with very little effort.

Note you can't get to 1K models from the starting set - at least from my looking on the warscroll builder the best you can get is:

1 Herald of Tzeentch 140 (from the chariot kit)

1 Burning Chariot 150

10 Pink Horrors 180

3 Screamers 100

3 Flamers 140

Total: 710

The other issue is that this only gives you 1 Battleline unit, since the burning chariot can only count as battleline if your general is a herald on a burning chariot. 1K points also varies a lot between armies in what people need, you might find 500 or 700 or so to be a more manageable value for beginner battles against other people who might also only have a start collecting set of their own.

For example the Seraphon boxed set only clocks in at around 410 points with a few models spare (the numbers of saurus warriors and knights in the set is not a perfect fit for a complete unit). So you could roughly say their boxed set comes in at only 500 points.

You might find the Warscroll builder on the GW website can give you a helping hand: https://www.warhammer-community.com/warscroll-builder/

Well, one of the reasons I love the chariot is just how much you can do with it.

If you were to buy two start collecting for examples you could have list such as :(

(Burning chariot is made battleline by Tzeentch Allegiance and Herald on Burning Chariot as general).

Hey! Thank you very much for answering!! Sorry, I didn't explain the situation enough.

Basically, the first person I want to introduce the game to has been reading a lot about the game and wants to give it a go in a competitive way. Not ULTRA competitive, but he would really like to play with points in a "legal" way, to really see what the game is about after a couple games. However, I am far from rich, and I don't want to spend a lot of money for an army I will possibly rarely play, but I would still like to play at 1k points with him (and any other person that comes to my house).

So I guess my question is, being more clear: what other stuff should I buy, besides the SC box, to make a 1k list without spending  a lot of money but having a somewhat decent combo? Is it even possible? I would like to spend less than another SC box and, as I said, would really love to have a Curseling included for hobby and narrative reasons (or maybe a Gaunt summoner, a Chaos Lord, a Tzaangor shaman, I suppose any humanoid hero will do).  With that I might not have much space (SC + Curseling is 870 points), but maybe I can leave some units out of the list for summons, like the screamers? I don't know Tzeentch's army a lot, even though he always attracted me, so I'm not sure on what to do.

I'ts already amazing that I got two answers so fast, thank you very very much! Please be my heroes lmao

The thing with Tzeentch Deamons is that you need at least one box of blue horrors (optimally two) per 10 pinks as you get them for summoning for free.

So you would be at SC + one blue Box without any additional points. This is an investment that is worth it when thinking more competitive.

Gaunt Summoner is one of our best casters. Add in balewind and Geminids and you have a good damage potential from the first turn. But your opponent won’t like this :D

You can try to find the Christmas box from 2017? somewhere online with tzaangors, shaman, Kairics and disc riders if you want to go that route. Very mobile.

Orherwise, SC, One Box of blues, gaunt, one box of kairics is a very thematic but veeery fragile list.

Can we ally with beasts? I forgot... if yes, then another sc of beasts of chaos would give you something to play with (10 bestigors plus raiders or the Ghorgon) but you would still be one battleline short.

1k is hard. For fun games I take the gaunt, 2x10 pinks (plus summoning) and the bird plus an endless. Fun, fragile, swingy, tzeentchy. Not a budget list either :/
