I come from 8th fantasy and while I will always miss the old world, i also found I didn't hate Age of Sigmar. Although it has taken me a while to get a game in since many at my club were mollified and upset, when I did finally have a game I quite enjoyed it. Then I had a game using the General's handbook and I really enjoyed that as well. I find there is more beneath the surface than a mere 3+ 4+ swap as it initially appeared and now my Tzeentch daemon fetish can be realised again.
