Rebasing Tips?

So, I've got about 30% of silver tower painted, but I think I want to re-base all the models with the shattered dominion molded bases.

Any tips for taking a painted mini off its painted base without jacking up the mini too much?

I use a thicker xacto blade and place the mini on its side and score by the foot you can use a bit of pink foam to support the mini if needed but if the blade is sharp enough it should go through pretty easily. Sometimes it can carve but if the foot but it can be fixed rather easily with some greenstuff. 

 

Im sure someone has a less brutish method tho haha.

As far as I can see - for plastic glue the main accepted method of doing this is by cutting around the models foot until there is only the small segment of base that is actually glued left. See a decent guide: https://www.whitemetalgames.com/services/basing/rebasing/;

If super glued, put in a freezer because it makes the glue brittle and easy to break off.

For Plastic Glue I don't think there is any easy way and clipping away the old base seems to be the only way.
