Destruction at 1000pt level

Played my force last night with a mate using Moonclan against a Stormcast and Seraphon force.

Sadly we lost badly as we were facing a lot of 2 and 3+ saves, many of which were also rerollable.

Brutes suffered from low numbers

Gore Gruntas got stuck on a Bastilladon

'Ard Boyz definitely work better with 2H axes in this situation.

 

Ideally we need to get a way to inflict mortal wounds to get stuck in

Actually the goregruntas are a good choice to tie up a the bastilidon as it's purely weight of attacks that will kill those in my mixed destruction lists I've found Ogors with 2 clubs to be a great unit to take em down as you only need 4 attacks to get through to kill em (only....... :-) on average 6 Ogors (3a each rerolling 1s to wound) will kill a basti over two rounds of combat assuming you roll average and so does the opponent on armour saves and he doesn't kill more than one Ogor before you attack twice

destruction really does lack mortal wound output outside of magic unless you go heavily into a particular faction (beastclaw or spider fang)
