Dickbill
Watched lots of videos about this and was just curious about what everyone's thoughts were on varnish, do you even use it? What brand do you use? Gloss? Matte? Curious what you'd tell a newbie to painting and modelling what you recommend they do for varnishing their first set of minis. Mandano
the answer I see most often is testors gloss, then wait until the next day and use testors dullcote. the gloss is good for protection and the dull takes away the shiny. I learned the hard way though to apply blood for the blood god after the dullcote if you are looking for fresh looking blood. and any other small parts that you would want shiny apply ard coat after as well. Lucio
Personally I only varnish metal miniatures, plastic ones rarely suffer from the same issues. If I do varnish then I'll use 'ardcoat and the next day lahmian medium to take the shiny off. Less hassle and risk than spray on varnishes
