Stormfiends shockfist warp tokens

Straight forward question, but I figured it's better to ensure I know for a fact how this works:

If a Stormfiend with shockfists triggers it's D6 hits (on a 6) - do those count as succesful attacks as per the requirement for doubling damage with warptokens? Essentially, am I able to double the damage of whatever remains of those D6 hits into one big pool of damage once the wound rolls and save rolls have been made, or do I only double a single hit?

I've come across that before, but I suppose my actual question is: Is that an accepted interpretation?

The core rules are extremely clear.  An attack is successful after a failed save and not before, therefore each one of those hits is a unique successful attack (assuming failed saves) and would each require a warp token.
