Help: SC Vanguard list

Hello everyone!

My friends and I started playing AoS a while ago and I played a few games with the Stormcast from the starter box. Now I'd like to run a Vanguard heavy list because they just look so cool and seem very interesting. So here's what i came up with:

Lord-Aquilor (200)
Neave Blacktalon (120)
Lord-Celestant On Dracoth (220)
- Tempestos Hammer & Thundershield
Units
5 x Vanguard-Hunters (140)
5 x Vanguard-Hunters (140)
5 x Vanguard-Hunters (140)
5 x Vanguard-Hunters (140)
3 x Vanguard-Palladors (220)
3 x Vanguard-Palladors (220)
6 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (360)
1 x Gryph-Hound (40)
3 x Aetherwings (60)

=> 2000 Points

What do you think? Is this any good? What would you change? Please let me know!

I'd only take as many Hunters as you need to fill your battleline requirements. So I'd remove one of those (140), and probably the gryph hound (40) to give you 180 points to spend. Two options that gives you is 3 more Raptors with Longstrikes (180); or Lord Relictor (80) + Celestant or Castellant (100).

Thank you!

I thought of that aswell but I'm afraid that painting 9 Palladors might be a little too much for me. I'm going to paint the LCoD first because I really like the miniature and use him for while before I replace him with Palladors.

Instead of a unit of 6 Raptors, why not two units of three? That way you get two Primes with their +1 hit.

Agreed, unless you are doing the battalion, that is the way to go.

Further, you might consider a Knight Venator as a 3rd hero. They are actually part of the Vanguard.

The Prime of the Longstrike Raptors gets a Aetherwing which has 2 attacks in combat. And when there is a Prime with a Aetherwing in the unit they can use "Warning Cry" when a enemy unit makes a charge move that ends within 1" of the Raptors. Then you roll one dice for each Raptor in the unit and for each rolled six the enemy unit suffers two mortal wounds.

I'd like to play them as one unit so that the Lord Aquilor can teleport all of them out of danger easily.
