Chillpill
Hi guys, do any of you have recommendations or links to guides on how to make great looking bases without having to be a pro at painting? Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Vaux
Depends on the type of base you want to create to be honest. I prefer using cork, sand and some tuft to get most of my bases done. Simply priming the base and then using washes and drybrushing.
Tommy
The GW texture paints are worth a look, easy to use and lots of different colour schemes out there to try - often just a simple drybrush.
RuneBrush
I'd agree that GW texture paints are well worth a look for a pretty straightforward way of achieving a nice base result, if you have a look at the following topic, I've put up the guide from White Dwarf when GW updated their range. If you couple this with grass tufts and blood splatter, you can achieve a really good result that you can repeat over and over. That's not to say you shouldn't look at other ways of doing bases, the classic gluing of slate &/or sand onto a base is nearly always effective and significantly more cost effective than textured paints.
