Temple of the Shattered Veil

I’ll be painting the horses like this, but probably won’t keep any of the original rider bodies. I despise their palsied left arms.

Very nice work on the bow riders! Thanks for sharing the pieces that didn't work out, I think the namarti reaver torsos and bows are fantastic and really fit quite nicely on the horses. I think the head choice is really cool too. As for the paint job, I love the back horses in particular with the glowing blue mane (the purple hair looks good too), eyes, and purple/silver armor. It's very appealing to me!

Much appreciated! I originally painted the manes purple, but realized it was purple overload. I like the blue better as well. 

Keep it up, it looks amazing ! I would never have thought of converting it this way. Inspiring post !

I wasn't sure if you were planning to have the group of horses with different mane colors. I think if they are all going to be uniform the blue certainly feels better to me. : ) Purple overload is a good name for the feeling haha.

“Purple Overload” sounds like a Prince cover band.

Pink eyes and brand for the horse, or blue?

Blue will match the mane and tail, but pink might stand out more.

Suggestions?

I like the idea of the pink eyes, I think. Don't know if you've moved past this question yet, though!

Not yet, building the rest of the unit. Thanks for the input... I’ll do a test and see how it turns out.

I think it seems to me that the pink eyes would help the mount tie in with the rider, making them feel a little more cohesive, if that is what you are going for (them both having the same accent color).

Imagining the blue would leave me feeling like the mounts were a little more self-contained, with so much uniform blue-glow going on with them. Not a bad thing in my eyes, simply a different direction.

I think you’re right about tying the mount and rider together with pink eyes. 

I’ve built eight riders, just need two more. Thinking of making the leader a female with a Melusai snake mask like my hag queens, possibly mounted on a black stag (from wood elf kit) instead of a horse. 

Or or do you think a male warlock to lead them?

Rereading that, the words “black stag” sounds way more interesting than “horse”. So that’s settled. Just gotta decide male or female.

I think both options sound good in different ways, but something about a female witch-like figure on a black stag does sound pretty cool as a leader for this group!
